View Full Version : Are pictures allowed in Islam?

Are photos of humans allowed? Was there ever a fatwa issued in the 19th century accepting or prohibiting photos?

What about other graphics? Cartoons? Do we even accept that the little smiley emoticons which are clearly designed to be human in aspect are ok to use and view?
