I've heard people say that there's missing passages or chapter of the Koran. What do they mean?

Salam Alaikum

There are fabricated "sayings of the Prophet Mohammed" which were only coined up recently in the 1970's by no one really knows who that were claimed to be "lost hadith".

Whoever made these up was dumbe enough to provide the "missing" chapters along side in the hadith - and they were supposedly stating that Jesus is the way and the truth.

Needless to say neither did the chain of narration hold for these - nor did the text of the hadith nor the verses hold since they were in direct and complete contradiction of 100% of the existing Hadith as well as the entire Quran.

You see people who fabricate such things are usually "idiots" because they over look a simple fact that the Hadith are verified by the Quran - and we the Muslims believe that the Quran is safe guarded gainst any sort of corruption since it is clearly mentioned in the Quran itself.

So thats the basic story - I saw and read these things on the net myself quite a few years back just simply because the topic once came up - so I am sure if you do a search for them u'll find these fake things still lying in some corner of the web or on the sites of some Muslim haters :)

I've heard it from both Muslims and Christians but I have no idea what they are talking about.

Tell the muslims to seriously repent for saying such things.

OK I won't discuss that. I'll point out the passage I have pointed out before and discussed with Ansar al-Adl.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 8, Book 82, Number 817:

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:

>deletions<

In the meantime, 'Umar sat on the pulpit and when the callmakers for the prayer had finished their call, 'Umar stood up, and having glorified and praised Allah as He deserved, he said, "Now then, I am going to tell you something which (Allah) has written for me to say. I do not know; perhaps it portends my death, so whoever understands and remembers it, must narrate it to the others wherever his mount takes him, but if somebody is afraid that he does not understand it, then it is unlawful for him to tell lies about me. Allah sent Muhammad with the Truth and revealed the Holy Book to him, and among what Allah revealed, was the Verse of the Rajam (the stoning of married person (male & female) who commits illegal sexual intercourse, and we did recite this Verse and understood and memorized it. Allah's Apostle did carry out the punishment of stoning and so did we after him.

I am afraid that after a long time has passed, somebody will say, 'By Allah, we do not find the Verse of the Rajam in Allah's Book,' and thus they will go astray by leaving an obligation which Allah has revealed.
And the punishment of the Rajam is to be inflicted to any married person (male & female), who commits illegal sexual intercourse, if the required evidence is available or there is conception or confession. And then we used to recite among the Verses in Allah's Book: 'O people! Do not claim to be the offspring of other than your fathers, as it is disbelief (unthankfulness) on your part that you claim to be the offspring of other than your real father.' Then Allah's Apostle said, 'Do not praise me excessively as Jesus, son of Marry was praised, but call me Allah's Slave and His Apostles.'

So parts of it have been abrogated without their force being abrogated. I forget the technical legal term. Is this what was meant?

Heigou that's cause they never looked for it the quran is complete. It's the same as me saying to a judge Oh I didn't know about that law, even though the law had been in place.

I have had this discussion with Ansar al-Adl in "Refutations". The verse on stoning is not in the Quran. Look for it all you like. It has been abrogated in the sense it no longer is written in the Quran, but the force of its meaning has not. Which means Muslims still stone adulterers.

Of course she might also be meaning the Satanic Verses.

There is no such thing as missing passages in the Qur'an, this is an obvious lie. Whatever is part of the Qur'an is in the Qur'an today.

As for the hadith posted by babagrr and HeiGou, they are totally irrelevant - they discuss ahruf, qira'at and naskh, nothing about a passage that was supposed to be in the Qur'an but has gone missing.
