This is dedicated to all our Muslim sisters n brothers in Iraq...

The Betrayal of Baghdad

Oh Baghdad, you have been betrayed. I sit here with tears burning my eyes, My sorrow chocking my heart.
The bombs light up your moonlit Baghdad skies, hurting my eyes.---My ears hear their thunder.
When the cock crowed the first night of bombs, it too knew that Baghdad had been betrayed.
Smart Bombs?... All those smart bombs that were dropped Over Iraq,
Were they dropped to terrorize the innocent?
I ask you: Do you feel smart? How smart is our killing. And then sending smart packages of food.
You sat in your warm houses And slept in your warm beds. Knowing how smart our bombs were....
Real smart. Is This Peace? Why is a child crying somewhere for his parents? Why is a child crying somewhere for his home?
Do we hear the echoes of our conscience as we Hear these cries of children, children crying With hunger and with pain.
Are we deaf? Are we blind? Or are we guilty?
I ask you...Is this peace?

ANGELS CALL

Remember when you pray that there are millions
of people in IRAQ who make stones their daily bread.

Who walked on bridges of wounds are still walking on them.
They wear their own skin and die dignified.

Remember before you put your head on any pillow ,,Can one fall asleep while someone is slaughtering his country?? If he dies dignified ,his death will be a Rebirth.

My heart is on the wounds of the little angels.
I see them coming back from schools.
The sounds of the churches' bells and speakers of the Mosques have kissed their foreheads .

They wrote this letter to you calling :
Our country is wounded behind bars of the unjustified sanction
every day hundreds of us fall victims because of this sanction.
We ask you : How long? How long will this destruction go on ??
Your conscience has dried and this call which has moved the feeling of the Angels in heaven did not move you. Your conscience has dried but the tears of the innocents did not.

An Iraqi child... here I stand

An Iraqi child... here I stand
A broken heart in a threatened land.
Hold your sword and fight for me
I'm a kid... with no glee.

Crying alone, can you dry my tears?
I 'm afraid, can you kill these fears?
"Help!" I scream, can anyone hear?
"Help!" I scream, is anyone here?

Protection is what I am looking for,
Stop the strike, protect me from war.
They accuse and accuse but cannot prove
And we can't stop them though we don't approve!

Filled with depression, filled with pain,
Filled with sadness...but all in vain.
Filled with anger, but what's the use?
My feelings can not stop the abuse!

Justice and Peace have got no word,
Humanity is living in a bleeding world.
Dad says things that I can't understand:
"Inspection, sanctions and controlling our land",

"Taking our oil" and a "regime change",
"Absence of International legitimacy and law"
And many other things that are above my age
Fear of war is all what I can comprehend and know.

I just wonder, "What have I done?"
And why do they want to set my sun?
My young heart is filled with fears,
My innocent face is wet by tears,

My tongue is for help screaming.
My mind is of peace dreaming.
I'm waiting for future that's mysterious and unknown,
In a world that's headed by one single throne;

One superpower that no one fights
And no one can defend my human rights.
Lost and confused, have nothing but to wait
For anything to be done before it's too late!

An Iraqi child...here I stand
A broken heart in a threatened land
Hold your sword and fight for me
I'm a kid...with no glee

Crying alone, can you dry my tears?
I'm afraid, can you kill these fears?

Sing a Song For Basra...

If I could sing a song for every bomb that flies
I'd sing each and all the days
If there were to be a verse for every dying child's cries
For every helpless father's gaze
If I wrote a love letter to each corpse as it is carried
I'd never still my pen
If I had to stop a moment for each one that's been buried
I'd never move again
And the stocks are going up somewhere in America
Sing a song for Basra

If I could shed a tear for every home that bombs destroy
I'd never stop crying
If every broken brick were a heart of a little girl or boy
All the world's children would be sighing
If I could hold each shattered body, each baby stilled at birth
I'd have no time for loneliness
I'd spend all my time embracing the people of this savaged earth
Feeling the poisoned wind's caress
And the billionaires are laughing in some safe place in America
Sing a song for Basra

If each barren pharmacy were a woman's shining eyes
I'd fall in love forever
If every bombed-out kindergarten were a factory in disguise
Wouldn't that be clever
But bricks are only bricks, and dust is only dust
And death is all around
Each day another missile falls and sometimes the only thing to trust
Is the shaking of the ground
And they're loading up the warplanes in some safe place in America
Sing a song for Basra

Long live Iraq...

i got this on a forward mail :)
