I'm thinking of pursuing this as a degree. Is it permissable in Islam. The job entails making artificial limbs for people, or heart valves, and basically making artificial body parts for disabled people, as well as Medical Machinery.

are you sure that's the only applicationo f it?

umm its definately ok to make plastic body parts and stuff coz that saves alot of people's lives and there'sno harm done through it...

it only gets gooey when you start doing actual transplants from humans to humans...

the dean of engineering was saying how that's the highest specialised form of engineering and u cant do a double degree with it.. thought i'd mention that.

meaning.. if ur planning to specialise in makig plastic hearts and hands and stuff then yeh by all means go for it.

as far as getting other ppls organs and plugging them in other humans, from the little i knwo i dont think that's legal. Because dead people even though dead, their rooh still feels the pain in 'barzakh mode'.

about it being the highest specialised.. thought i'd say that incase u where thinking of doing a combined degree.. say.. commerce + eng or something like that...
