Assalaamu Alaikum

Is it ok to question/try to reason islamic rulings, beliefs being a muslim?

other question I hav is about converting to other religion from islam... wat is the punishment for this and why...

i am sure these questions must have been asked here or somewhere else before... but still, can anyone provide me with a thorough answer pls?
