Well Akhi zak like you said it depends on the person listening , the difference of the styles are sudais and shuraim concentrate on reading through the nose mostly , Jaber mostly read through the throat and the nose .

Oh yeah and here is the proof (my friend sent me from Saudi who has basically grown up and studied etc with Shyakh Saleh Talib!)................there is a lot of information here but I am working on a translation inshallah!

Don't try to avoid my post, but shouldn't you like spend your time more wisely on the forum rather than posting minute by minute posts on some imams? It's almost like you worhship them.

Idolisation

n 1: the act of admiring strongly [syn: adoration, idolization] 2: worshiping blindly and to excess [syn: idolization]

Besides, I see more chit chat and laughter than posts that will benefit anyone. Please do correct me if this is not the case.

You lot seriously need to read carefully, what you are doing, you are idolising the imams, by spending so much of your time talking about them.

Tell me, if i talked exactly like that about some western model or music artist, what would you say to me then?

Stop wasting your time filling your posts with "lol" or ":(" its a waste of time and space, and stop idolising the people. Realise the message they are sending not idolising the people themselves.

Go ahead, try to prove me wrong, at the end of the day we all know the truth.

This is an ISLAMIC forum which abides by the ethics of islam, the moderator himself posted a hadith which says "speak a good word or stay silent"

So tell me brown clown. Whats the benefit of this topic? If me and bro abdul made 35 pages of posts on jennifer lopez what would you say to us?

This whole thread is a waste of time and should be shut down. Period.

I agree, some posts are rather unbeneficial, but you fail to realize that we are only saying who is leading and stuff like that. We look upon them as pious muslims IN the 21st century, who gaurd themselves from eveil, we are tring to be the same, follow thrir example , and learn Islam by watching how they are. We listen to their Quran recitation and discuss it, true the #1 fan thing was just a waste, but i dont think the others are. We are speaking good words by discussing our Shaykhs and looking at how young they have already have such great knowledge Mashallah.

CAn you prove my points wrong? I dont think so.

whats rong with longing for Makkah and Madinah? Arent they our holiest sites? So what is wrong if we wish to say i want to be there, and i love this Imam, because of his piety and his recitation?

Can you answer that?

And lets get this straight:

We Worship NONE but Allah and we will never even come close to holding the Imams anywhere near sumpremity.

We arent just discusing any garbage, this is a good topic, and we are not only posting here, we are also around the Forum as well, this topic is for our love for the Quran and how these Imams recite it. If you look back at the very begining, we have so many posts on their recitation and etc.

Yes quite simply i can, and i will.

Point 1 ) You are freemixing boys and girls in chat. Prove that wrong.

I agree, some posts are rather unbeneficial,
Point 2 ) Something with a little bit of bad in it, cannot possibly be claimed to be virtous, islam has no "unbeneficiality" in it. So, how can you mix the two? How can you go on to say, "i am talking good" and "i agree, there are bad talk here". I dont think so.

whats rong with longing for Makkah and Madinah? Arent they are holiest sites? So what is wrong if we wish to say i want to be there, and i love this Imam, because of his piety and his recitation?

Yes quite simply again, a humble man with haya is humble because he doesnt want a big head and to be praised. You are doing exactly the opposite, praising someone particularly for THEIR VOICE isnt exactly humble is it?

Now my friend. Answer my points.

1) freemixing in free chit chat.
2) Spending 34 pages and more on imam's piety rather than spending at least 10 pages on islam itself.
3) Wasting time by making posts such as "lol" or ":) :) "

Can you answer that?

1) I wudnt call this free chit-chat, it may be in your perspective since you dont care about the imams, but to us who care about these Imams, we call this talking about them.

Freemixing? to a point yes, but not any haram free mixing. Our talks are limited to the Imams and nothing further.

2)As i said before, we do have beneficial posts, topics in the Islam section tend to be questions or articles, so the discussion goes on for a while and then stops. We see the Imams everyda and watch them lead Salah.

The sisters should not keep their pics, but the brothers on this thread can.

3)Not many, only few and at appropriate times, And Inshallah we will take care as not to do that in the Future.

Would you talk the same way in REAL LIFE to a brother or sister?
First of all what way are you talking about?

Second we (brothers) would discuss this in real life. We talk to the sisters on the forum only, because we are not looking at them or doing anything Haram, and our talks are limited to the Imams.

The unbeneficial talks were the whose the #1 fan stuff, and that stopped long ago in the Part 1.

And what is their Voice reciting? Isnt it the Quran, and/or, their Jummah Khutbahs?

btw, many people can improve their Quran recitation skills by listening to them :)

:sl:

The methodology of this thread is quite time wasting. As i had said earlier. If i opened a topic discussing a particular person. Onwards for 35 pages. That is simply, idolisation. No matter how pious or good a person might be, when you talk about them, for 35 pages, that is simply,. GOSSIP. Thats all it is, just because its about a particular imam in makkah doesnt change the fact its GOSSIP. Its gossip, and will always remain that, no matter who it is.

Let me tell you what you are trying to do, you are attempting to justify the gossip of this thread by placing it within the context of the imams of the haramains. Im sorry but, if the fundamental of something is bad and not beneficial. nothing can justify it. Prove that wrong.

So tell me, why can, all of you, have a 35 page discussion, on imams of the haramain, but cannot make a 35 page discussion on taqwa? or patience? or any other islamic issue? I tell you why, because you are so wrapped up in your discussion of an imam of makkah that people cannot care less to spend effort on discussing islam itself. Thats irony for you.

so the discussion goes on for a while and then stops. We see the Imams everyda and watch them lead Salah.
We live islam everyday of your life. Yet we cannot talk about it for more than 35 pages. Pity.

First of all what way are you talking about?
All the text that has been typed, can you gossip like that to someone else? Freemixing + gossip = ?

Good choice bro.
Hey bro let me just say one thing I still have a lot of love for the Imams of the Haramain Sharafain and a lot of respect for them. I will still talk about them (to my friends etc) but not on here - I dont want to hurt anyone's feelings.

If anyone wants to contact me they can PM me.

understood you perfectly.

One thing i want to get straight here. I dont hate the imams of the haramins, so dont jump to that conclusion. Its just, the way people talk about them on this thread, is not much different to how fans would talk about their actors or idols.

Dont take it so badly bro, i forgive you but its not like you have done anything to me. The reason why i am posting back in this thread to expose the "posts" in this thread which are merely synonymous to Gossip and Chat.

Im sure the mods think this place is a waste of time as well.

I agree that there has been way too much trash-posting in these threads. People have turned it into a chatroom. if someone can post useful informative posts, then its good. Otherwise, the thread will be closed down.

So for now, we'll leave the thread open. But let's see some useful posts and not just lols and smileys as the brother pointed out. If you can't think of something useful to post here, thyen DON'T POST. Spend your time reading the Islamic articles around the forum and engaging in Islamic discussions.

Quick question, Define Informative. If there something like "Sheikh has just finished in makkah" not exactly beneficial. If you could define that for us that would be easier to avoid further fault.

"Informative"
Something more beneficial than reporting the Imaams movements every second. If there's any important khutbahs they're giving, or anything special going on.

I got an idea.

How about, if we close this thread right here, and start two more in each gender room? Then, brothers and sisters can chat both freely however they want about the topic.

Anyone against it?

not a bad idea, but what if we find something cool about the imams and want to show the fans(sisters) and vice versa?

Can I just ask what is going to happen to the free mixing in the other threads/topics are they all gonna b seperated?
Good question. id like to know that too, if yes than wats teh point of LI, we could have a Brothers LI and Sisters LI.

it's not only this thread, i've seen many times worser thread than this on LI alone....IF mod close this thread then i for one would like around 20 to 30 other threads on LI closed too

i totally agree that ppl go off topic, but hey, WE ALL DO THAT...i am sorry, but most ppl have this problem...it's not only us...and :i: we ALL, ESPECIALLY ME, need to excercise some control...

i DO AGREE that there is NO need for a life comentary on what sheikh is doing etc...but even if one chooses to do that, he/she will NOT be going off-topic, althought it would be wise to stop this...

and lastly, i would be careful when using a word idolisation at all, since by defination idolisation means either to: "worshiping blindly and to excess" (in this case u r calling us kaffir or almost kaffir, and i am sorry to say that, but u have NO right to say such a thing... u have no right even to say "almost idolising" therefore) and the second defination is "adoration: the act of admiring strongly"...i donna what's wrong with admiring something, i admire my family...does it mean i am doing something wrong? If so, let me know and start un-admiring them

I dont want to hurt anyone's feelings.
u cant't get universal popularity brother...no matter whatever u do, there be those who dont like it...that's the fact of life...

beside i have no idea, y u r leaving akhi...u r one of the FEW ppl on this thread who dont go off topic and always post useful...any1 doubting me can check Imam of Haramain Part 1

Ok, so maybe I went a bit too far there. I'm sorry.

Ansar brother, you mentioned a barrier. A mental one. How about writing what this barrier should be in words so then we can all adhere to? So far, it looks like on this forum (myself included) we all know how we ought to behave, but we don't show it.

Iv got to disagree with you there dear brother free mixing is free mixing regardless of mental barriers cuz you know outright that a sister has replied or a brother hence you are going to lose objectivity.

Mashallah Bro Danish some good points bro and jzkallah khair (I must admit that since coming back from Saudi I have been more active due to more free time and hold up my hands that I may have posted some slightly unecessary things on rare occassions but yeah I like to think I try and stay on topic!!!)

I must say I am really upset at the way most of the brothers have been discussing this issue. First of all ABDULLAH SAOOD is a senior member and he is much older than most of you brothers, show some respect barakallah feek. I hope he does not stop posting, as his stories have been delightful and he has great wisdom to share with us.

I have seen over 30 posts of people arguing, and then we asks ourselves what is wrong with the ummah? subhanallah.

If you have a problem with a certain member's conduct pm them InshaAllah, posting it in threads achieves nothing. this is not the correct adhaab.

I see no problem with brother ABDULLAH SAOOD sharing his stories in this thread. If anything I would be greatly dissapointed if he stopped.

As for going off topic, everyone does it . I only have a problem with those who repeatedly do it.

The point I am making akhee, even though we praise the shuyookh of the haramain it does not mean we are idolosing them, or almost like we are doing so.

This is a big accusation as im sure you are aware there is no bigger sin than shirk.

Allhumdoilillah Muhammed Ayyub was also awesome - however I never heard him live in Medina?

Yeah who led Fajr this morning????

(Inshallah lets get thing back to normal in here bearing in mind the ettiquetes and spirit of this forum I really enjoy posting on here and the last thing I want to do is leave!!)

As I mentioned previously I will be leaving for Mecca mid June my plan is to stay for 10 days in Mecca and then a further 10 days in Medina before I return to Jeddah for work.

I have managed to arrange to meet SST at his home (very excited allhumdolillah) and also possibly SS (as he sooooooooo busy) - and in Medina a friend is trying to arrange a meeting with Shaykh Slah Budair. If you PM me any questions (please bear in mind I have to ask them the questions and dont want to be put in any awkward situations so address your questions suitably!!!) I will then post the responses on here inshallah swt.

I am working on the translation of the SST biography and will post as soon as I have finished it inshallah.

Wassalam and may allah unite us all inshallah.

Mashallah excellent vid sis - SAS mashallah always smiling he's like that when you meet him too always has a smile on his face.

When I was in Mecca in Ramadhan 2004 SS had just finished praying and once the Imam has finished (cuz SS led first) they are led out via the barrier (the area you see cordoned off in front of the traweeh spot on the mataf to stop people walking in front of the imam).

Anyway, SS was walking away after just having prayed and someone who knew SS was allowed in to meet him - so SS stopped and met the guyz in the cordoned off area - but at this time SAS had come to the traweeh spot and was watching SS meet the guyz he looked over at SS was about to start, put his hands down (waiting for SS to leave) and then started smiling (thinking come on SS I wanna start traweeh) and put his hands up again and started his 10 rakats - he was in top form that night too!

hmm.. :p

Ramadan 2004 this was. (Can't remember what night :'( ) ..and isha had been prayed and so was waiting for the imaam to start taraweeh. So SAS comes and they show SAS and he says Allahu akbar. 2 seconds later I see SST going down and I'm like eh?!  What's he doing?!
Then I realised he went into sujood and he came back up and before he went into the 2nd sujood, they stopped showing SAS.

aaah so true masha'Allah!

When I went nearly 4 years ago :D , right after salaah (can't remember which) , me and my sister where going somewhere in the Masjid and we saw this 'crowd' and it was like a pathway in the middle so we were like  ? what's happening? .. So I looked down the path and I saw guards :shade: ..so I told my sis woohoo look! ..and imam is coming! :shade:
..and luckily we were right at the front so we saw who it was aaaaand it was SAS :shade: .. man he went right passed us! Masha'Allah he is such a jolly man .. he was talking to anyone who spoke to him and ALWAYS had a smile on his face. While he was walking, someone said something from the back and he turned back with a BIG BIG smile on his face and said something in Arabic and laughed. :D

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D - I remember that too - I will see if I can find which night it was!!!

Also another thing I noticed like halfway through ramadhan (around the 15th night) SAS and SS meet in the cordoned off area and chat to each other for about 10 minutes (dont know about what - but I have seen it happen every year!!!). It tends to be SAS doing the talking and SS agreeing.

Also again ramadhan 2004 before Isha started SS and SST were talking and SS said something to SST (cant remember what now as I was only a row or 2 behind the imams) and SST had the giggles for like 15 minutes before Isha started - he just couldnt stop laughing they had to give him some Zam Zam!!!!

Ramadan 2004 - First night. SAS lead first innit ... and SAS said Allahu akbar and started taraweeh off. SS said something to SST and SST started laughing and SS started prayer and then SST did to.

;D ;D ;D ;D

btw.. how do you know SST had the giggles? ( ;D ) could you hear him? was it that loud? ;D

I was sat in the third row to his far right so i had a clear view of him and the Imam spot he just kept laughing and every time he looked at SS he just burst out laughing - it wasn't loud or anything he was just laughing. Some of the other guyz in the rows were looking at him thinking wots up with him - mind you he was soooooooooooooooo serious once the iqamaah for Isha started!!! :applaud: :applaud:

Another funny one was when my son met SAS - now when my son listens to SAS/SS/SST/BUDAIR etc its really funny cuz he starts moving his head left to right and starts moving his tongue as if he is praying (but obviously only a baby sound comes out). Anyway, SAS had just led Isha and my son was in haram so he was nodding and humming, After salaat finished I was lucky to meet SAS in one of the haram rooms - so I took my son to meet him too.

So i introduced my son to SAS who held him and started kissing him and said Salaam and shook his little hand - now as soon as he heard SAS voice my son started nodding and humming and SAS was in tears of laughter and he said to my son in arabic "What surah are you praying, are you trying to copy me!!!!".

So i then I said to my son do adhan (when he hears adhan he puts both hands on his little ears and starts humming..........) so he did that for SAS too - he was like "mashallah this is one of the cutest kids I have seen in a long time and he did duaa for him and said to me mashallah may allah protect him from the evil eye"!

Oh yeah and before he gave my son back to me my son started pulling his beard!!!! :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ SAS didnt mind he just started tickling my son!!!!

Mashallah, glad you enjoyed my posts.

Btw.. what was SS's expressions? Could you see?
Well he just kept nudging him and looking at him but SST was trying his best not to look at SS! :-[ Anyway I remember even before traweeh SS was in a really funny mood and was joking around with everyone - there was this one guy - he normally stands in the second row he came up from behind and started pulling his ghuthra (thats just reminded me of another story) this guy angrily looked back and it was SS after which he was like :omg: :omg: :omg:

He was also joking with Aziz and Saleh (the 2 chaps who stand in the front row next to the old shaykh) - and was pulling salehs beard (I think he was saying come on its stopped growing pull it and it will grow!!!) :D :D :D :brother:

Another funny one was when we met (me and my son) SST for the first time - now he really loves kids and when he met my son he (like SAS) started kissing and cuddling him and saying mashallah whats his name etc.

Anyway we were talking in one of the rooms and the guards were playing with my son (remember we were all sat on the floor) so Im like talking to SST and my son who had started crawling was getting everywhere but I wasn't too worried cuz the guards were there and it was very quiet in the haram (cuz after Fajr people just go home).

So my son comes crawling up behind SST (who had taken of his bisht) and started pulling his ghuthra - he pulled it off and started putting it in his mouth and chewing it :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ - SST was like laughing his head off cuz it had itr on it my son made a really silly face  thinking this tastes a bit different to my normal food!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

*someone give me zam zam!!!*
thats wot my son was thinking ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Assalamo-alaikum-warahmatullahi-wabrakatu

Well in ramadhan 2003 I was in Meccah for Umrah. On this particular day I prayed on the mataf near the barriers that are put in front of the imams.

Traweeh finished and haram was heaving. Now when the Imams leave (SAS had just prayed) the guards accompany them but when it is busy they have some other guys with them (who wear white thobes and red guthra you know the normal dress).

These guys huddle around the imams and make a circle by holding hands and anyone who gets close to them they get pushed out of the way and its very busy. Anyway, I was make my way to the Hajare aswad area thinking Ill get a quick tawaf in before I head back.

Anyway as I was heading towards the Kaaba SAS and his entourage was walking behind me very quickly (obviously I didn’t know that at the time) as they got nearer I got pushed around :-[ and somehow ended up in the circle so for like a couple of minutes I was like walking with SAS he looked at me and smiled so I shook hands with him and did salaam – anyway the guyz who had surrounded him grabbed my hand and made me form part of the circle – I was like coooooooool (but man did we get pushed around or what)!! So I ended up walking SAS to the gate – afterwards the guyz said Jazakallah to me! :thumbs_up (I probably fitted in cuz I had my white thobe and red ghuthra on!!!!)

Even the guards were laughing and asking me if I wanted a job!!!! :p

Bro mst – inshallah I will post some more of my experiences just really really busy these days.

Well Akhi abdullah Just wanted to say you wont know Makkah now its completely changes in the past three years .

I think those body guards are with them Only when there is a lot of zahma like hajj and Ramadaan .

But like off season like now i see them moving alone only with one Askari ( policeman ) .

Assalamo-alaikum-warahmatullahi-wabrakatu

Another good experience was when I was in Medina Munawarrah, we had just prayed Traweeh again and Salah Budair had led he was reciting awesome (as usual) and did a top duaa which had the whole of the mosque in tears.

Anyways, after the traweeh I stuck around for about an hour in Riyadul Jannah and marvelled at how beautiful the masjid was and thought I am sat where the sahaba used to sit (I was right close to the Mimbar!) I was thinking about all the things that have happened on this blessed piece of land I was sitting on. I looked at the pillars of Aisha, Abu Lubbabah, Ali etc and thought about the events that had taken place.

After sticking around in Riyadul Jannah I thought before I leave I will go and do salaam at the blessed Raudah. It was heaving so I made my way through calmly trying not to cause problems to others. I eventually made it and stood at the raudha for like 2 seconds before I got pushed.

Anyway, I thought leave it its too busy but waited for like half an hour until things calmed down. Then I managed to make my way back round to the blessed raudah!
I wasn’t standing right in front of the raudah but like one hundred yards away facing directly towards the large hole which is directly in line with the blessed face of Rasoolallah (Sallallah-hoalahi-wassalam) – I had a top spot and started to recite salaam – durood etc – (again I was dressed in my arabi outfit) people were being moved along by the guards etc but no one said anything to me so I just stood there and thought just go with the flow if anyone moves me I will move.

10 minutes passed……… 20 minutes passed………. ½ hour still no one moved me – I just stood there reciting and sending salaams – I must have stood there for like an 1 or 2 hours it was an amazing experience I didn’t move or get moved so I thought just stay as you may never get this opportunity again. I thanked allah swt for blessing me with this unique opportunity and prayed that Rasoolallah (Sallallah-hoalahi-wassalam) accepted my salaams and was happy with me inshallah, I only got moved when they wanted to clean the place so I moved away my self and did salaam to the 2 companions and was on my way.

I then got started talking to one of the workers in the haram – he told me that there is no use when you walk past the raudah to try and look inside as there is nothing in there. The grave of Rasoolallah (Sallallah-hoalahi-wassalam) is actually beneath the raudah and has been sealed (there is no way in apparently) – what actually happened was sometime ago Medina and the Prophets Mosque was flooded so they raised the ground and hence the raudah was underneath. There is however a spare place for Prophet Isa Ibn Maryam (alahisalaam) within the raudah.

Yeah it was when it was ramadhan thas why they had extra people. Once I seen the guyz literally pushing people out of the way of the Shaykhs I couldnt believe what I was seeing.

I know what you mean - I visit Makkah off season a lot allahumdolillah and sometimes they only have one guard (Askari) with them!

Busy periods are totally different story!

And at the Rauza, you cant stand for more than 5 minuctes at most (if ur lucky) cuz you get pushed. That was lucky bro AS.

And

i wish i have that chance in life inshallah to make salam to the prophet saw and to meet the imams of haram inshallah
