Brothers and sisters may someone please give me some scholarly work about this aticles "

Mohammed cursed people because of his quick temper Sahih Muslim vol.4:6297 p.1373. "Anas b. Malik reported that there was an orphan girl with Umm Salaim (who was the mother of Anas). Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) saw that orphan girl and said: O, it is you; you have grown young. May you not advance in years! That slave-girl returned to Umm Sulaim weeping. Umm Sulaim said: O daughter, what is the matter with you? She said: Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) has invoked curse upon me that I should not grow in age and thus I would never grow in age, or she said, in my (length) of life. Umm Sulaim went out wrapping her head-dress hurriedly until she met Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him). He said to her: Umm Sulaim, what is the matter with you? She said: Allah’s Apostle, you invoked curse upon my orphan girl. He said: Umm Sulaim, what is that? She said: She (the orphan girl) states you have cursed her saying that she might not grow in age or grow in life. Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) smiled and then said: Umm Sulaim, don’t you know that I have made this term [deal] with my Lord. And the term with my Lord is that I said to Him: I am a human being and I am pleased just as a human being is displeased and I lose temper just as a human being loses temper, so for any person from amongst my Umma whom I curse and he in no way deserves it, let that, O Lord, be made a source of purification and purify and nearness to (Allah) on the Day of Resurrection.

Mohammed also cursed Mu’awiya, the future caliph, because he would not stop eating and come when Mohammed sent for him. Sahih Muslim vol.4:6298 p.1373
"

All I know from my own experience is that the prophet had a very long patient character but this hadith shows otherwise can someone please help before ****an starts making idea in my head

why dont u read what the hadith says

He said: Umm Sulaim, what is that? She said: She (the orphan girl) states you have cursed her saying that she might not grow in age or grow in life. Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) smiled and then said: Umm Sulaim, don’t you know that I have made this term [deal] with my Lord. And the term with my Lord is that I said to Him: I am a human being and I am pleased just as a human being is displeased and I lose temper just as a human being loses temper, so for any person from amongst my Umma whom I curse and he in no way deserves it, let that, O Lord, be made a source of purification and purify and nearness to (Allah) on the Day of Resurrection.

read that last part. the "curse" of the orphan made her closer to allah and source of purification.

arent u forgettin this hadis that someone asked him "pray for Allah to curse the unbelievers." He said, "I was not sent to curse but as a Mercy. I will ask for them to be guided because they don’t know."

i dont thik we should be arguing about hits topic its very sensitive, a learnt scholar would be a better way to go. cuz as far as hadeeth go we can talk about them and tell the meaning or lesson but we cant really look at them word for word, theres scince behind reading these hadeeths. Wasalam . Jazakillah

Brother I would understand the prophet cursing someone who cursed god or cursed someone by misunderstanding what they said. But for example we have this little orphan girl who has done nothing. Yes I understand this is the prophet (saw) we are talking about that why Im EMPHASIZING this topic. Why would the prophet curse an innocent little girl when he can take aggressive behaviour from his jewish neighbour this does not sound right to me specially that he is the prophet of god which supposed to make him a more superior example to us and not the other way round.
Allah forgive me if I have sinned against your prophet in anyway

i think SONZ refuted it lol, I knew it from the moment I read it...i can't believe how bad these guys are at comprehending, they just take this crap and run with it and the fact he can take aggressive beaviour from his Jewish neighbour just shows more patience, not anger..

Well brother al salam aleikom
The problem with some brothers of the umma they are vert blind to free discussion and thinking and I think this is whats happening here in this thread
I would like to say that
1- If we accept the fact that the prophet cursed the orphan girl then we are accepting that he is contradictlng the quran wher God said treat the orphan kindly
2- Accepting the prophet cursing would be for you to seperate the prophet the man from the prophet the inspired from god which is wrong
3- Under no circum stances we are allowed to accept the prophet was a mean grumpy character in any corner of his actions (Allah knows best) but its like a man who is good to the strangers but abusive to his own family thus if you want me to accept the prophet (saw) was good to the jewish neighbour and cursing the orphan girl from his own Umma you have to be truely illogical and talking non sense

conclusion: The prophet is a man whom reaction are not only inter-connected between him and god only but between him and the other third party (i,e, the orphan girl) because otherwise many people would not have been muslims due to a compulsive behaviour that a man preaching can have. Thats why in accordance to my opinion and thinking deeply about this hadith I came to my own conclusion

When the prophet (saw) met the young girl he was fascinated about how fast she was growing so he wanted to complement her by saying "may your life not advance" as a sort of a jesture, due to her fast growth. This resulted in the orphan girl misunderstanding the prophet SAW jesture and took it negatively to Um Saliyma. Whats my proof for this its because when Um Salima came back to the prophet SAW and told him the story he smiled ; if he was angry with the orphan girl he would not have smiled.Because he saw how the little orphan girl misunderstood what he said. and he comforted Umm Salima by telling her " Dont worry even if I did curse her by mistake because im a human being Allah will reward these people from my umma"

This is my own inturpretation of the hadith which I connected the prophets SAW personality to the other stories (i,,e the jew , the man who wanted to trade with the prophet SAW and he waited for him 4 days in the desert , the old lady who cursed the prophet of islam and he hepled her grab her material)

This is the prophet SAW and Allah knows best

AVk you are pretty disrepectful to prophet muhammed (peace and blessing be upon him). If you are muslim you wouldnt talk about prophet muhammed (peace and blessing be upon him) in such way. Instead of coming on internet and looking for internet imams brother why dont you go to the local mosque and ask the imam over there. He probably would be more helpful and you would get direct answers from him then trusting a person who you cant see and dont know how much knowledge they might have.

Subhan Allah its people like you brother who builds gaps in this religion and its people like you who breed terrorist against the good of our faith.
So what if I dont see the person right infront of me does not make him wrong , plus so what what if I dont go to my local imam mosque I know him and you dont , If I found it good to go there I would have without having hussles from brothers like you who have no knowledge of intention what so ever May Allah guide you
Plus brother I do not commit logical fallacy like MOST sleeping muslims commit today, Just because the sheik said we wil obey NO FREAKIN WAY I come here in order to gain extra views and perhaps more information on international background WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO JUDGE ME may Allah bestow guidence and knowledge to your self Plus in what way am I disrespecting the prophet SAW ? ha tell me ? by trying to analyse his hadith ? by arguing something for his good when I say he was complementing the little girl and not abusing verbal abuse.
BROTHER YOU GO AND HIT YOUR HEAD TO THE WALL so inshalla your mind will think and start refreshing because you like most sleepy muslims today need a wake hit to see whats happening around you
Just because a sheik or a scholar said somethign I have to follow it HELL NO we respect their point of views but I want to see what material they are offering in order for me to follow and not blindly.
May Allah bestow on you knowledge and wisdom as it will inshalla bestown on me

As salam alykum..

I am confused are you talking to me? All i said be respectful and ask questions from local imam its not something to get sensitive about. Most of the people with extremist views get them from the internet not from their local mosque.....

avk i totally agree with you. we are NOT refuting. but we only want to find the answers so that we dont have any doubt with our religion. i was once a sleeping muslim and blindedly follow everything told to me. but since i join lots of forums online, i started to get answers and now i am more confident with Islam as my way of life. muslims should not avoid questions about religion as long as it can be discussed and appropriate so that we become a stronger Muslim with knowledge. sorry and may God forgive me if i done or say anything wrong.
