who gives salams first

salam alaikum brothers and sisters

i was wondering if a sister and brothers who were not together but cross paths on a road or sidewalk, who should give salam first the brother or the sister

Hmm Interesting question has been post. Is gender a issue here to give salam. (plz correct me If i am wrong) As long as you see each other I dont think it is a matter who gives salam be it the sis or the bro in Islam

^^ yeh ther'es nothing in hadiths to say who should giv salam first.. order of giving salam kicks in only when an individual is passing by a group and things like that...
