Something to think about......

In the name of Allah, the beneficent, the merciful

IF ALLAH WAS TO GRANT YOU 70 YEARS OF YOUR LIFE...........

You would spend:
24 years sleeping
14 years working
8 years in amusement

6 years at the dinner table
5 years in transportation
4 years in conversation
3 years in education
3 years reading
3 years watching television

If you prayed 5 Times every day, you would be giving ALLAH 5 months of your life.

Can't we give 5 months out of 70 years?

Let's all give ALLAH a minimum of 5 months of our lives! (Insha'Allah!)

Interesting statistics, but I am against this perception. Each and every act of ours is for Allah 'Azzawajal if we discharge it rightfully.

Salaah is not the only thing which is obligatory upon us, is it? This is typical najdi and deviant thinking. There exist people who go to the Mosque after consuming wine and believe that Salaah is for Allah 'Azzawajal and is separate from drinking wine - ignorance!

The supposed 24 years of sleeping will be Worship if you perform Wudhu before you sleep and sleep according to the Sunnah.

The supposed 14 years of working will be Worship if you discharge it honestly and with the intention of fulfilling the rights of the ones upon whom you are incharge and are responsible to provide for them.

Amusement and humour is a Sadaqah if you act according to the Sunnah and donot hurt the feelings of a brother or sister or degrade them through it.

Eating dinner is a highly rewardable and blessed deed if we eat Halaal and observe its Sunnahs such as eating salt before and after dinner, end dinner by having dates, spread a red food mat, etc and so on.

Transportation or I would rather call it travelling is an act of Worship if the intention and motive is pure. Allah 'Azzawajal Directs the one who travels in search of knowledge to a path towards Paradise. A journey for noble purposes is Blessed. The traveller to Haramayn Shareefayn is Blessed and all his prayers are accepted.

Conversation is an act of Worship if you learn and talk about Islam, talk modestly, learn and practise its Sunnahs, etc.

Education, secular or Religious (the knowledge of Deen comprises of both), is rewardable and one of the most important aspects of life if sought humbly and for honest means.

Reading to improve your Religious and secular knowledge, grammar, understanding, etc. is also rewardable.

Watching Television is also rewardable if you are watching Halaal programmes and in search for Knowledge of Deen.

Whereas, Salaah, even if it is Ordained more than 700 times in The Holy Qur'aan, cannot guarantee your Imaan if you observe it regularly unless there is a quality in your heart. Adab and 'Ishq of Rasoolullah is the first priority for Imaan.

If simply 'offering' Salaah was a means of Maghfirah, then the Najdi Munafiqs are way ahead than any of us as proven through Ahaadith that they will offer Salaah, Nawafil and read The Holy Qur'aan and that the addressees (the Sahabah) and we, are told that if the quantity of their (deviants) practising is taken into account, we will deem it more than ours. However, they will still be outside the fold of Imaan. If abundance in prayers and Nawafil cannot save your Imaan, then what can?

A Sahabi (I shall not take their name in respect) of The Holy Prophet were punished thrice for consuming wine. When they were brought in The Court of The Holy Prophet for the third time, their Beloved Master were not physically present then. The Companions Radi Allahu 'Anhum who were present then, cursed them "May the Curse of Allah and His Messenger be upon you! Have you committed it for the third time?"

At that very instance, The Holy Prophet entered and forbid the Companions from cursing him and said, "...For he Loves Allah 'Azzawajal and His Messenger!" SubhanAllah! A certificate of Divine Love is awarded to the Sahabi on the occasion of committing a heinous sin for the third time!

After narrating the above Hadith in a speech of theirs, Shaykh-ul-Islam Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri state that by researching in other Ahaadith, it is revealed that the Sahabi used to sit with The Holy Prophet all day whilst the people narrated their griefs to Our Beloved Master who would then advise and comfort them.

Whenever the Sahabi would feel that The Holy Prophet were a bit depressed because of their love for their Ummah upon hearing their griefs, the Sahabi would narrate a humorous incident or say something which would make The Holy Prophet smile and divert their attention from that state of depression, SubhanAllah! This was all they did! SubhanAllah!

If we comnpare them, who were punished thrice for consuming wine, with the deviants who will offer Salaah, read Nawafil and recite The Holy Qur'aan in abundance but will still be outside the fold of Imaan, the Sahabi are the fortunate one.

The deviants have abundance in Worship while the Sahabi have been convicted of committing a grave sin thrice but abundance in Salaah could not save the deviants' Imaan whilst the Love for Allah 'Azzawajal and His Beloved Messenger Blessed the Sahabi with a Blessed Here-After, even after they had committed a grave sin, not once, but thrice.

This reveals to us that 'Ishq and Adab of Allah 'Azzawajal and The Holy Prophet, The Holy Qur'aan, The Sunnah, The Ahl-e-Bayt-e-Athaar Samullahi 'Alayhim, The Companions Radi Allahu 'Anhum and the AwliyaAllah Radi Allahu 'Anhum is the key to success.

However, this doesnot permits us to commit any sin. Repentance and Love are two sides of the same coin. There should be a balance between them.

JazakAllahu Khayran
