Ive found out that there are 3 books of Shaykh Shuraim that have been translated into engligh by Yahya Ibrahim:

YAHYA IBRAHIM

Of Egyptian descent, Yahya Adel Ibrahim, was born in Waterloo, Ontario Canada.
In his quest for authentic, classical Islamic knowledge he has traveled to meet and study with some of
the most prominent scholars of our era. Being proficient in Arabic and English, he began translating
for visiting Islamic dignitaries and has reached proficiency in simultaneously translating Arabic to English.

He has had the honour of translating on numerous occasions for the likes of:

· Dr. Salih as-Sadlan
· Dr. Muhammad Musa Nasr
· Sh. Sudais (Imaam of al-Masjid al-Haraam)
· Sh. Sa‘ud ash-Shuraim (Imaam of al-Masjid al-Haraam) , having translated 3 of his books.
· Sh. Hussein Al ash-Shaikh (Imaam of al-Masjid an-Nabawi)
· And many other dignitaries.

One of his greatest personal achievements is memorizing the Quran in its entirety. He began memorizing the Quran

Al Maidah
Chapter 5: Verse 105
O you who believe! Take care of your ownselves.

Commentary:

It is very important to have the understanding that all of us, individually and collectively, will be under scrutiny and will have to face a day of Reckoning.

Difficult Indeed

Of the most difficult of deeds that an individual must perform is Muhasabah (Taking account of his own actions). It takes an enormous will and effort to judge and take account for one's own deeds. A person may fall into two problems:
He may be too excessive in his accounting and thus begin restricting himself from lawful things.
On the other hand, there are those who will be deficient in their Muhasabah and therefore will fall into many sins out of desires and wishful fantasies.

No Tawbah without Muhasabah

Sins are a fact of life. All human beings fall into error. Yet, Tawbah (repentance) is compulsory to erase the sin from one's record. Repentance will only come after the realization of one's mistakes and errors. This realization is a direct result of Muhasabah. There are too many witnesses against us. We must repent for our sins before the time when come one Tawbah is no longer accepted.

Reaching The Level of Taqwa

The believer will never reach the level of Taqwa without making Muhasabah. This is the secret of success and the path to salvation. Muhasabah will lead to repentance and that will lead to Taqwa. The Messenger (peace be upon him) said:

"The intelligent person takes account of himself and acts for (that which will benefit after) death." Reported by At-Tirmidhi.

It's not an overnight process

Correcting one's actions and establishing Tawbah and Muhasabah is not a process that takes place over night. It is a whole way of life that must be established throughout one's life. We must establish Muhasabah over an extended period of time. It is a process that must be constantly upgraded.

The Risk Is Too Great

When an individual or nation falls into a dilemma that shakes them into their very essence, they must look at themselves critically to find the source of the problem. Once the problem has been found, after a through self-assessment, immediate repairs are in order. The individual or nation must take it upon themselves to begin an immediate self-reformation. A whole nation can fall collectively into a state of slumber and inactivity upon the orders of Allah. Equally, an individual can fall into a state of slumber. An individual's slumber can last for days, while a nation's slumber may last for years.

I don't think Sheikh Jaabir (Rahimahullah) ever got a chance to do a Khatam al Quran dua. Sheikh Khulaify (Rahimahullah) was given preference to do that.

I don't know about duas by Sheikh Juhany. He definitely never got a chance to make the duas in either of the Haram'ain. I'm sure he has in Masjid Quba...I'll look inshaAllah.

Brother Abduallah Saood is leaving Jeddah after Hajj this year to reside in the UK so his children can be near the family Insha'Allah. He said he consulted SST and SS on this and they said to go and serve the parents. He said he wont be on LI for a while. He asks that you remember him in your Duas and he sends his salams :)

Sheikh Faruq Abdurrahman Hadrawi came to the East London Mosque on Friday, he did both the adhans for the Jumu'ah. Alhamdulillah i managed to meet him which is not really possible in the haram. Didnt go to GPU, i had a very bad experience last year. Jazak'Allah for the recording and the photos.

any of Imam says salat in Makkah, his voice during recitation is Strong
but in Madina, voice during recitation is Soft or u can say cool

I would say its either Salih al-Talib or Sa'ud al-Shuraim. It could go either way. And by the way, hafiz idrees, is that really you reciting? Masha'Allah its good. Memories from islamic uni in madinah - we had one brother who used to recite exactly like that.

this is unfortunate only few masajid practise this sunnah. usually imam are scared with ppl. if the make long salah.
but alhamdulilah the attendees increases, as in my local masjid ppl. come from diff places to be part of following this sunnah.
