i think that the khutbah are written by Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Sheikh (Grand Sheikh of Saudi) on behalf of the government, also i think the Shura Council have an input.

Sheikh Umar As Subayyil
AAKHIRAH
INSTEAD OF WORLDLY DESIRES
Sheikh Umar As Subayyil
The real happiness and absolute success of human beings lie in his repentance to his Lord, his steadfastness upon obeying the commandments of Allah and practicing His religion for the entire duration of his life according to the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (SallAllaho alaihe wasallmam). It does not lie in being distracted from working towards his eternal future by the urge to acquire the beauties of this world. This is the way of the righteous and pious people whom Allah describes as that which translates as: “Men whom neither commerce nor sale distracts them from the remembrance of Allah and performance of Salaah and giving of Zakaah. They fear a Day in which the hearts and eyes will (fearfully) turn about.” (An-Noor: 37)
Righteous people, despite their business and worldly engagements, do not allow that to stand between them and remembrance of Allah’s greatness; a remembrance that makes them constantly fear Him and worship Him as He should be worshipped.
This is how the true believer should be. They should spend their days in performing righteous deeds and seek the abode of Aakhirah (the Hereafter) with whatever Allah gives them. This is because they know that this life is only a means to achieve the everlasting life and perpetual prosperity. They know this world is not an end in itself but only a finite place in which both the pious and sinful have their daily bread. They know that, however long one may live, they will eventually grow old and die. They also understand this world’s insignificance and know that it is worthless in the sight of Allah and that it is only a bridge which people cross over to reach Paradise or Hell. Allah says that which translates as: “Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children - like the example of a rain whose (resulting) plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes (scattered) debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion?” (Al-Hadeed: 20)
Allah’s Messenger (SallAllaho alaihe wasallmam) said: “The life of this world is sweet and green (i.e. as tempting as fruits) and Allah makes you succeed one another in it, so that He may observe what type of deeds you will do therein. Beware of this life and beware of (the temptation of) women.” (Muslim)
He also said: “If this world was worth a mosquito’s wing in the sight of Allah, He would not have given a disbeliever a single gulp of water.” (Al-Tirmizi)
There are in these Quraanic verses and Ahaadeeth, the clearest picture of the worthlessness of this world and an exhortation to mankind to fulfil their objectives here. They are meant to worship Allah, reform their souls, be pious, abstain from lusts and base desires and not become deceived with the beauties of this life. It is however, pathetic that many are in the state of forgetfulness and delusion so much so that the aspiration of acquiring the beauties of this world has overpowered them and sins and evil deeds have covered their hearts. They live as if there is no other life except that of this world. When the love of this life conquers one’s heart, it makes one forget the remembrance of their Lord and if that happens then they become deserving of the wrath of Allah.
The Prophet (SallAllaho alaihe wasallmam) while explaining the evil of the love of this world and its danger to one’s religion said: “Two hungry wolves sent into the midst of a flock of sheep are less destructive to the sheep than man’s covetousness for money and fame are to his religion”.
It is said that, “Love of this world is the mother of all sins”. When Hadhrat Hasan Al-Basri observed the greediness of the people of his time for the wealth of this world, he exclaimed: “Do these people believe in the Day of Reckoning? No, I swear by the Master of the Day of Judgment!”
A sign of the domination of love of this world over the hearts is when one does not have concern for anything other than the search for prestige and fame, even if that is to be at the expense of one’s religion. Some have concerns only for amassing wealth even if they have to get it from dubious or forbidden means.
The Prophet (SallAllaho alaihe wasallmam) warned against this when he said: “I swear by Him in whose Hand is Muhammad’s soul! A man may swallow a morsel of food from a haraam source the consequence of which will be that no good deed will be accepted from him for forty days”.
He also said: “The fire of hell is entitled to any piece of flesh that has been nurtured by ill-gotten food”.
There are many Muslims amongst those who have been overwhelmed by the love of this life, who so yielded to their whims, desires and evil inclinations that they drank alcohol, took drugs, committed adultery, fornication and other evil acts. They are encouraged to perpetrate these evil acts of modern mass media. This makes these malevolent things fair-seeming to them. It allures them with temptation and incites them to revolt against good moral values until many Muslims, especially the youth, begin to imitate the enemies of Allah and His Prophet Mohammad (SallAllaho alaihe wasallmam) in all aspects of their life. The following refers to them: “Then, there came after them successors (i.e. later generations) who neglected Salaah and pursued desires; So they face Ghayy (a valley in hell).”(Maryam: 59) So, it is their excessive passion for this life that will be the cause of them being thrown into hell.
It is the unrestrained love for this life and preferring it over Aakhirah that weakened the Muslim Ummah in contemporary times and made disgrace, dissension and hypocrisy her lot. It is this predicament that gave her enemies the power to dictate many of her affairs, seize her wealth, conquer her lands and severely persecute the Muslims. A vivid example of this is what has been happening to Muslims in places like Bosnia, Palestine and Kashmir, where Christians, Jews and Hindus carry out criminal acts of aggression against Muslims and desecrate lives, properties and Masjids.
Imaam Ahmad and Abu Daawood also reported that the Prophet (SallAllaho alaihe wasallmam) said: ‘Beware the nations all over the world shall join forces against you as diners gather around their bowl of food’. The companions asked: ‘O Messenger of Allah! Is that because we will be few in number then?’ He said: ‘No, rather you will be many, but you will only be as (voluminous and as worthless as) the scum after a flood. The fear of you shall be removed from the hearts of your enemies and “Wahan” will be put into your hearts’. The companions asked: ‘What is “Wahan”?’ he answered: “To love this life and detest death”.
Let all of us desist from heedlessness and preferring this life to the Hereafter. Allah has condemned the heedless and praised the pious when He said that which translates as: “So as for he who transgressed. And preferred the life of this world, Then indeed, Hellfire will be (his) refuge. But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from (unlawful) inclination, then indeed, Paradise will be (his) abode”. (An-Naaziaat: 37-41)
So, We must fear Allah! “And let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allah by the chief deceiver (Satan). Indeed Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy. He only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blaze.” (Faatir: 5-6)
And of course, we must fear Allah as he should be feared and die not except as Muslims. We should not be among those who have been overpowered by negligence and overwhelmed by Satan thereby making them forget the remembrance of Allah and the abode of the Hereafter. They are so deceived by false hopes that they do not think of anything other than the pleasure of this world regardless of the source from which that pleasure may come.
“They know what is apparent of the worldly life, but they, of the Hereafter, are unaware”. (Ar-Room: 7)
Why can we, the slaves of Allah, not reflect, and learn lessons from the misfortunes and calamities that Allah has inflicted on people throughout history? Can we not ponder over the fate of the dead who are escorted to their burial places daily? These people who are our fathers, our mothers, our children, kings, paupers, believers, disbelievers, righteous and sinful? These people are all buried in graves and will all be resurrected on the Day of Judgment.
“The Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if they were, toward an erected idol, hastening. Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the Day which they had been promised!” (Al-Ma`aarij: 43-44)
We must fear Allah and be dutiful to Him and do not forget that we will one day leave this world for our everlasting abode which will be either Paradise or Hell. So we must get ourselves prepared for that day: “So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained (his desire). And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion?” (Aale ‘Imraan: 185)

Assalamo-alaikum-warahmatullahi-wabrakatu
Inshallah you are all well. Well as promised I will tell you a little about our dinner with Shaykh Hudaifee and Shaykh Thubaity.
Allhumdolillah we got a call when we were in Madina (well I didnt but Saeed Anwar did) that Shaykh Hudaifee wanted us to come to dinner - basically it was for the Paksitani cricket team players and also he wanted to meet and talk to Shaykh/Maulana Tariq Jameel. So as it was my responsibility to take them there I was also invited allhumdolillah!!!!!:D
So after Isha myself, Maulana Tariq, Saeed Anwar, Shahid Afrdid, Mohammed Yousuf, Waqar Younis and Junaid Jamshed all went for dinner. Mashallah it was at Shaykh Hudaifees place - (they have been allotted some grand apartments just outside Madina Munawarrah - its a 20 min drive). So we got there and we were stopped at the entrance by the guards who asked what we here for and then we told him he let us in.
So we went to Shaykh Hudaifees apartment - it was huge mashallah but very simple and nicely decorated and there was laid out on the floor a banquet mashallah - there was camel meat and all sorts of arab dishes.
Shaykh Hudaifee was sat there without his red scarf - all he had was his cap on and white thobe and sat next to him was Shaykh Thubaitee there were a few other guys but I did not know who they were. Anyway Maulana sat next to the Shaykhs and we started to eat - mashallah the food was very nice.
Shaykh hudaifee said he was really happy about Mohammed Yousufs conversion and asked him how he came about to convert etc. Maulana Tariq then chatted to Shaykh Hudaifee and he asked him about the Ulema in Pakistan e.g. Mufti Taqi Usmani and how much good effort they were making in Pak. He then asked Maulana about Islam in Pakistan and they discussed about the earthquake. Maulana invited Shaykh Hudaifee to come to Pak but he said travelling was difficult for him. They also talked about Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadvi (rahmatullahialahi) and also about Shaykh Zakarriya Khandelwi (rahmatullahialahi) who Shaykh Hudaifee said used to be a personal friend and a great alim - subhanallah.
The shaykhs chatted to all the other people and told them to be role models for the muslim ummah as people look upto them and they should be setting an example and he told them that he was very happy that the Pak cricket team was doing so much for Islam.
Shaykh Hudaifee then told Maulana Tariq to pray for the Ummah and then Maulana did a short duaa at the end.
Was a very interesting experience mashallah. When we left the Shaykh gave us all a bottle of Oud.:statisfie :statisfie :statisfie
I think thats everything - inshallah some time this year :rollseyes :rollseyes I will post about when I recently met Shaykh Saleh Taleb just before I came back to the UK.

i was praying in the mataaf area towards the side of bab malik abdul aziz. and i was at the edge of the saff, like two people and the walkway was there. infront of me was about 5 women in their 50-60s. and you know how they wear the scarves with half their hair showing..it was just like that. so just before adhan like 7 mins or so sheikh sudais comes down the steps and mashaAllah hes got his gaze lowered and is walking looking on the ground, these women were like 'yay imam sudais hey. yey sudais hey, sudais hey, deyko yey sudais. imame kaba hey. and i felt soooooooooo sorry for him he looked embarassed. they kept saying it and really loud and obvious and were just staring at him. it was so funny

no no not for hate. because they want to catch his attention and meet him. there are guards stood on the hateem also but not allll around. and they catch some things but the rest just falls onto the ground. they did the same to sheikh
abu talib aswell but not as much.
infact it looked like the easiest time to get to the kabah if your praying close that is, is straight after the prayer cos everyone just bombards the imam..and its like a struggle between them and the guards.

infact it looked like the easiest time to get to the kabah if your praying close that is, is straight after the prayer cos everyone just bombards the imam..and its like a struggle between them and the guards.

Yeah, I had a feeling that would be so!

something so funny happened just before the salah.
i was praying in the mataaf area towards the side of bab malik abdul aziz. and i was at the edge of the saff, like two people and the walkway was there. infront of me was about 5 women in their 50-60s. and you know how they wear the scarves with half their hair showing..it was just like that. so just before adhan like 7 mins or so sheikh sudais comes down the steps and mashaAllah hes got his gaze lowered and is walking looking on the ground, these women were like 'yay imam sudais hey. yey sudais hey, sudais hey, deyko yey sudais. imame kaba hey. and i felt soooooooooo sorry for him he looked embarassed. they kept saying it and really loud and obvious and were just staring at him. it was so funny
oh and the week before hajj between maghrib and isha he'd stay in the hateem and as people were doing tawaaf theyd throw things at him :'( :( like slippers, shawls anything!
lol at the women they must have realy got very excited hehe .i FEEL for shaykh sudais

Masalaam
Br Abdullah Saood
WOW... I dont believe that !!! I wish Shiekh Hudyfi wud have accepted the invitation !! didnt they talk about 'tableeghi jamat' and issues that r discussed in arab about akeeda of this jamat?
I think I shud post my story now :enough!:

Does anyone have the complete Salaah recording? Any other Salatul Kusoof or Khusoof recording by any other Shaikh? Or Salatul Istisqaa recording?

Shaykh hudaifee said he was really happy about Mohammed Yousufs conversion and asked him how he came about to convert etc.
What did Muhammad Yousuf say about his reversion? I heard that he had already reverted 3-4 years ago but kept it secret...
He then asked Maulana about Islam in Pakistan and they discussed about the earthquake.
Maulana had given a very emotional bayan after that Zalzalah. I have the recording (PM me if anyone wants).
They also talked about Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadvi (rahmatullahialahi) and also about Shaykh Zakarriya Khandelwi (rahmatullahialahi) who Shaykh Hudaifee said used to be a personal friend and a great alim - subhanallah.
Shaikh knows about Tabligh. I heard from others as well... Shaikh Zakariyyah (Rahmatullahi Alaih) is resting in Jannatul Baqee just near the Ahlul-bayt (I think I am right or is it someone else?). He had migrated to Madinah and used to live there.
The shaykhs chatted to all the other people and
told them to be role models for the muslim ummah as people look upto them and they should be setting an example and he told them that he was very happy that the Pak cricket team was doing so much for Islam.

His Dua are really emotional.

From what i heard, the imaams are informed by the Head imaam, of the timetable of who leads what salat when.
and how do the guards know what house to go to?
Guards don't have to go the imaam's houses to take them, the imaams drive their own cars to the haram. The guards recieve them at the palace door adjacent to haram.
Anybody has recordings of recent Fajr and isha prayers? 21st Jan and 22nd Jan.

Something interesting I found about Shaykh Uthaymeen:
There were also some weekly commitments, and these would take place either at home or outside. Some of his weekly commitments included: Wednesday night meetings with the judges, meetings with the imaams that were scheduled to give the khutbah of jumu’ah in the masajid, meetings with university staff and professors, and meetings with the people of hisbah (those that enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong) until 11 or 12 pm then he would go to sleep.
From the interview with Umm Abdullah, his wife:
http://www.understand-islam.net/Arti...meen-swife.pdf
Does this mean that he used to meet with the Imams of the Haramain?
And here's a clip of Shaykh Uthaymeen when he led in the Masjid Al Haram in Makkah:

Some firsthand information about Shaykh Shuraim from brother Abdullah Saood:
ABDULLAH says:
well from my experience he is one of the most god fearing imams
the general consensus among the people is that he could be a khalifa of the muslims
he is mashallah very knowledgeable and a real lover of the quran and sunnah
he also has a very big heart
in ramadhan he used to bring camels milk and meat from his house and give it to the guards outside and take some inside too
he told me he only sleeps one-two hours a day
Ahmed says:
How does he spend his time?
ABDULLAH says:
well its split into - being imam/praying/attending to family and friends
his businesses include property and he owns a lot of camels
he lives in Al Awali in makkah
he is a supporter of the taliban
as he thinks they brought back the times of the Prophet (peace be upon him) as they were very strict in sunnah
he is a very private person and does not like all the attention
he laughs very little and is a very serious man

Ahmed says:
Does he have any students?
ABDULLAH says:

ABDULLAH says:

Jazakallah Khair for sharing the stories. Had you been to Umm Al-Qura University?
There was slight rain today in Haram after Jumuah.
Shaikh Saleh lead the Asr from the Taraweeh spot.
Shaikh Sudais lead Maghrib from near the Ka'bah and recited ayat from Surah Al-Ahzab.
