UKers, look out of your windows. The lunar eclipse is currently 1/2 done and total eclipse is scheduled for around 11:20PM

It's a wonderful sight.:D

wow, you can see like half of the moon that is hiding behing black.

subhanallah.

guys are we supposed to pray while the eclipse is going on? or we have to wait till it finishes ?

Yeah...On Saudi TV...I Think SST Gave A Khutbah/Speech Or Something...Just Finished 5 Minz Ago...

Think They Done A Prayer Aswell...Not Sure...Didnt See It All

Wow how beautiful :) Did anybody happen to go to Tooting Islamic Centre for the talk by Sheikh Sulaymaan Gani? :D

:sl:

The time for Salaat al-Kusoof lasts from the beginning of the eclipse until it is over, because the Prophet SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When you see that, then pray.” (Agreed upon). According to another hadeeth, “If you see anything of that, then pray until it is over.” (Reported by Muslim).

do you stop praying when the moon cannot be seen anymore? or till it can be seen again?

Subhanallah,I just had a look now, I never expected it to be so red!!

i can't see the moon anymore!!!!!!!!!

Look carefully, it is still there.

Majority of the UK is experiencing clear skies tonight so you should be able to have a wonderful view of the total eclipse. It is going to last for around an hour from now. :D

Salams

Mashallah i can see it again *i was looking in the wrong direction (oops)*

I saw it a few minutes ago, the moon is very dim, if you observe carefully or use binoculars/telescopes, you can see a dark circle around most of the moon, with a tiny end bit slightly brighter than the rest, thus forming the circumference of the circle, but still quite dim. I'm not sure if the moon is supposed to be completely engulfed in darkness, subsequently disappearing from vision altogether. The last time that happened that was a MAJOR solar eclipse which occurs once every few hundred years apparently, with news and live documentaries recording it, that was somewhere around the year 2000.
