salam alekom
ok i will try to explain it for you
started means بدأ
the present simple of it is يبدأ the common form which is masculine
but in the form of feminine it will be تبدأ
and here exams which is امتحانات is a feminine noun so it will be تبدأ
you will wonder how exams which is plural but it takes تبدأ instead of تبدأن
i will tell you because exams is not an intellectual thing or rational thing
but if you are talking about women which is intellectual it will be تبدأن
and the same for end which will be تنتهى
so you can say
امتحاناتهما تبدأ في تشرين الثاني وتنتهى في كانون الأول
and to be more exact
this action will happen in the future so you can put سوف which is ( will ) before each verb so it will be
امتحاناتهما سوف تبدأ في تشرين الثاني وسوف تنتهى في كانون الأول
hope that u understand me and salam
