A Jum'ah Sermon in the wake of the bombing attacks that took place in Amman.

Praise is due to Allaah, we praise Him, we seek His aid and guidance, and we seek refuge in Allaah from the evils of ourselves and from our evil actions. He whom Allaah guides then none can misguide, and he whom Allaah misguides then none can guide. And I bear witness that there is none that has the right to be worshipped but Allaah, Alone and having no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

{O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from them many men and women. And fear Allaah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allaah always was and always will be over you, an Observer} (An-Nisaa: 1)

{O you, who have believed, fear Allaah and speak words of appropriate justice He will then amend for you your deeds and forgive your sins. And whoever obeys Allaah and His Messenger has certainly attained great attainment} (al-Ahzaab: 70-71)
To proceed:
Allah, the Truth, says:
"And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein eternally, and the Wrath and the Curse of Allah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him." (an-Nisaa: 93)
And He, the Exalted, also says:
"The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter." (al-Maa'idah: 33)
And the Prophet—peace be upon him—says:
"Verily, the disappearance of the whole world is lesser for Allah than murdering one Muslim".
He also said in, one of the greatest gatherings of Muslims, the day of 'Arafah:
" O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the property, life, and honor of every Muslim as a sacred trust."
And he also said:
"All things of a Muslim are inviolable for his brother in faith: his blood, his wealth and his honor."
Thus, the great Islam came in order to preserve the rights and warn against taking them by force; save the souls, money, honor, minds, and religion, and all of these things are among the five necessities for which Allah, the Exalted, laid down His books and sent His Messengers.
Besides, Allah enjoined justice and warned against oppression and made it prohibited for Himself and His slaves as well. In this respect He, the Exalted, says:
"My servants, I have made oppression unlawful for Me and unlawful for you, so do not commit oppression against one another".
Thus, the Muslim is inviolable regarding his life, honor, and property:
"all things of a Muslim are inviolable for his brother in faith", and so it is prohibited to insult the Muslim or belittle him…
So,
how would it be lawful to kill him, especially when this is done for nothing and when he is not guilty with doing any crime? How about it if he was a baby, an unarmed woman, or an elderly one? And how about it if this killing terrified the safe people, distorted the country's security, spread chaos among people, and kindled the desire of the enemies towards invading the Muslim countries? Thus, if the predators fear one another while they are in full health but become easy targets for the smallest insects (like small ants), then how about safe countries when the safety of which becomes distorted? Undoubtedly, the tyrants and oppressors among the neo-colonialists, who are eager to invade the Muslim countries, root out their Religion, and plunder their wealth, will save no efforts to interfere with these countries own affairs.
Yes, O obedients of Allah! Excessiveness, extremism, and terrorism within its contemporary—but not religious—framework (i.e. terrifying the safe people) has no religion, nor identity, nor limits, nor time or place, because it started since the time of the Companions—may Allah be pleased with them—when
those excessive Takfeeree—the then Khawaarij—were killed upon revolting against the rightly-guided Caliph 'Alee—may Allah be pleased with him—and upon revolting and drawing their swords against the Imaams and laymen as well. Today, they are called the Takfeeree, because they charge the Muslims with Kufr; they charge the regimes and the peoples, and they charge all of the governmental employees with Kufr, and that is why they legitimize shedding their blood.
As for those innocent victims among the women and children, the Takfeerees believe that they will be raised from the dead according their heart intentions.
Those Takfeerees misinterpret the Texts; they interpret them excessively and in a way that is completely different from that of Allah, His Messenger—peace be upon him--, and the rightly-guided Salaf. Indeed, they do not interpret the religion properly, and that is why they were penetrated through their ignorance, lack of knowledge, short-sightedness, and inexperience, and thus the Prophet—peace be upon him—said about them:
"… young people with foolish thoughts and ideas. They will give of the good talks of the best of all creatures (i.e. the Prophet—peace be upon him--)…", but they are completely far away from these talks. The Prophet—peace be upon him—also said regarding them:
"The Khawaarij are the dogs of the denizens of the Hellfire; do not visit them when they get sick, nor do you walk in their funerals; If I were to ever find them, I would kill them like 'Aad and Thamood; anybody who kills them gets the reward of so and so from Allah".
And so, such decayed, deviant, and old but yet new ideology should be fought; and it is—sometimes—ascribed wrongfully to the Salafee call which is completely free from it, because Salafiyah is knowledge, Salafiyah is sincerity, Salafiyah is Truth, Salfiyah is patterning after the Prophet—peace be upon him--, and Salafiyah is a mercy and not a curse! God forbid that those people belong to the rightly-guided Salaf to whom the blessed Salafee school of thought belongs, and on the top of which are the three Imaams: al-Albaanee, Ibn Baaz, and Ibn 'Uthaimeen. Those Imaams have issued rulings—which are still written in the books—which warned against this deviant ideology and condemned these loathsome acts even before such bombing attacks take place here or there.
And they (the three Imaams) did this, because they trod upon a Salafee creed and sound principles; and were not for long-wordiness, I would have mentioned their precious, golden words. They were behind the retraction of thousands of dissenters from the top of the mountains in Algeria; those who would kill, plunder, and rape women; so when they received the Sheikhs message, thousands of them left the mountains and handed over their guns. This act of our Sheikhs was similar to that of Ibn 'Abbaas; the reliable scholar, the Interpreter of the Qur'an, who went to the Khawaarij, debated with them, and clinched the argument with them. he said to them: "I came to you from the Prophet's Companions and there is none of them among you", because it is impossible that the Companions become khawaarij and act in such foolishness; thus he (i.e. Ibn 'Abbaas) debated with them; they submitted their suspicions before him and he refuted them. Accordingly, two thousands of them retracted, while the vast majority remained determined to their wrong, and so 'Alee fought against them and rooted them out. They were the ones who assassinated 'Uthman and 'Alee, and they failed to kill Mu'aayiah and 'Amr—may Allah be pleased with them--. They are the ones that were known during the Islamic history with what the Prophet—peace be upon him—said about them:
"they kill the people of Islam and leave the idol-worshippers"; these are their habitual practices, and just like one of the scholars said
"they neither beat falsehood, nor did they supported the Truth".
These are their standings through history; and now they are just moving the battle from the invaded lands—as is supposed—to the Muslim lands and communities, rather they moved it to the Muslims' weddings. Thus, even though the Muslims practice some sins and prohibitions in these weddings, then you (i.e. the Khawaarij) are not responsible for them, you are not allowed to kill them, but you should advise them, remind them, and warn them against such sins. But this was not the reason behind their loathsome crime, rather it was stirring problems in order to upset this country's safety; this country which became an example of safety that is envied by the friends and enemies; a country that became a shelter for the panic-stricken people where they find shelter, hospitality, love, support, and comfort. But after that it would be rewarded by the reward of Sinnimar, that great engineer who built a great castle then sent for the king, the owner of the castle, in order to see the mansion and told him that there is a brick upon the removing of which the castle will fall down. There the king asked him: "does anybody else know about that brick?" Sinnimar said: "No", and so the king threw him from the top of the castle and killed him!
Thus—brothers--, these crimes are meant to stir troubles in order to upset the safety of this country, which is envied for its safety. Men are being snatched away from all around us; they seek shelter with us and thus find the safety (in this country). Thus, these murderers wanted—and in the name of Islam, which is completely free from them—to upset the safety of this country, but this completely far from them, because Allah took upon Himself to preserve the Shaam countries (i.e. Jordan, Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon). In this respect the Prophet—peace be upon him—said:
"Allah took upon Himself to preserve the Shaam and its people" and he also said: "The Angels are spreading their wings over the Shaam"…
Well, the main reason behind that crime is that those aberrant murderers charge the Muslim communities with Kufr, and they consider these communities as if they came out the realm of Islam, and thus—in their opinions—the lives, honor, and properties of the Muslims deems lawful to them. But how far! Allah—the Exalted—has preserved the Shaam, and so Allah will seize with punishment anyone who would try to do harm to the Shaam.
Behold! What did Allah do to the crusaders? What did He do to the Mongols? And where were they defeated? These are their remnants and traces. Thus, you just need to have patience.
O slaves of Allah! Fear Allah, and be sure that eemaan (i.e. faith) and safety are peers that do not leave one another. Thus, if one of them gets lost, the other will be lost. Allah—the Lord of Majesty and Bounty—says:
"It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Dhulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping others besides Allah), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided" (al-An'aam: 82).
Thus, Allah took upon Himself to grant safety and guidance for those who believe in Him being their Lord, Islam being their religion, and Muhammad being their Prophet. And these two blessings are the greatest ones that Allah may grant for the humans. Thus, I say this and ask Allah to forgive you and me.
The second sermon:
Praised be Allah, and let the best of peace and blessings be upon that who was sent as mercy for the Humans and Jinn (i.e. the Prophet), and let no transgression be except against those who are the Dhaalimoon (i.e. the polytheists, the wrong-doers, etc).
Be sure—O Slaves of Allah—that safety is a great blessing which is to be sought from Allah who grants it to His creatures, and verily, Allah has His own Affairs regarding His creatures. Thus, sins and disobedience of Allah are the cause of every wrong doing; Allah says:
" Evil (sins and disobedience of Allah, etc.) has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned (by oppression and evil deeds, etc.), that Allah may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return (by repenting to Allah, and begging His Pardon)" (ar-Room: 41).
However, whatever the sins of the nation were, this will not be an excuse to kill its people; and it is not the right for a junior or senior or a kin or non-kin to destroy it, shed its blood, and spread panic among its people. Indeed, Allah did not prescribe the Hodood and the penalties but to retaliate from the criminals who toy with the nation's security, stir up discord among its people, and serve its enemies whether accidentally or on purpose. Thus, what matters are the results—O slaves of Allah—and you will know them by their fruits, and that is why they lost their cause—
in case they believed that they were making Jihaad--, for woe to such Jihaad, woe to such acts, and woe to such aims and objectives!
What sort of Jihaad is that when it takes place
inside hotels?!!
Indeed,
Jihaad takes place in the ditches (of the battlefield) but not inside hotels!
Jihaad is in the battlefields against the invaders; and it is implemented by noble means, but it is not to be implemented by harsh and loathsome means, because Islam does not approve of hideousness in terms of killing, and that is why the Prophet—peace be upon him—warned against mutilation and treachery, and what happened here is an example of treachery: the so-called hero comes with a detonated belt around his waist and sneak into a wedding as if he is one of the guests, who is supposed to share them their joy, but it turns that he is a loathsome enemy, a monster, and person who respects not the ties, either of kinship or of covenant of them, be them Muslims or Dhimmi (i.e. a free non-Muslim under the Muslim rule) or young or old—and there he suicides by bombing himself among them believing that he is a martyr! By God, he who does this is never a martyr, because Allah, the Exalted, says:
"And do not kill yourselves (nor kill one another). Surely, Allah is Most Merciful to you" (an-Nisaa: 29).
So how would it be to kill a baby?!
How would it be to spread panic among the safe people?!
Or how would it be to stir up discord in a safe country?!
Thus, these criminal acts are not from Jihaad in any way!
And they are not to be considered martyrdom in any way!
Well, we should be aware of this Takfeeree ideology, and we also should warn against it, and in case you saw one of them, then you should refer him back to the scholars so that they debate with him and produce the proofs (against his deviant ideology). And you—O Muslim—should fear Allah regarding who visit you or hires your apartment, because these murderers did not live in seclusion, rather they hired apartments and lived therein, and thus you—O property owner—should be careful regarding whom you hire your apartment to—and this is an incumbent upon you--. Well, I do not say that you should spy on them, but rather you should be attentive (for any suspicious movements) and know who comes in and goes out, what he holds, what he aims at, what his name is, and to whom he belongs, so that you can figure out whether the person is good or treacherous; and in case he was a treacherous, then you should be careful from him and warn against him so that you may stop an imminent catastrophe. In this respect, the Prophet—peace be upon him—said:
"May Allah curse anyone who covers up an innovator" (reported by Muslim).
Indeed, covering up a murderer is a crime that is punitive before Shar' and (human-made) laws as well. The Prophet—peace be upon him—said:
"Medina is a sanctuary form 'Air (mountain) to Thawr (mountain); so whoever innovates in it an heresy, commits a sin therein, or covers up an innovator, he will incur the curse of Allah, the angles, and all the people".
Now, imagine—O Muslim brother—that your house is on fire, then how would you feel? Do not you get out in order to ask for help?! What if this took place in your neighbor's home, do not you call the firefighters?! Do not you, at least, fill up a bucket with water and shed it on the fire?!
O slaves of Allah: when the prophet Ibraaheem (Abraham)—peace be upon him—was thrown in the fire, all of the animals, though not obliged, started to fill up their mouths with water and shed it on the fire. Well, the spit of a fox, wolf, cat, or chicken will not put out that huge fire, but at least they tried to except that the gecko, that malicious insect, took a negative attitude therein; it blew on the fire so that it gets bigger, and thus Allah had already know its malicious attitude, recorded it, and made the reward of one hundred rewards for who kills it from the first hit, and that is why the good ones and believers compete with killing it and hitting it by their shoes.
What would such a little blow of such a little insect do to those huge flames?! But it just was that malicious aim!
Thus, one should be aware of these takfeeree groups and warn against them, and you will not be sinful if you report to the authorities anyone who is planning to kill, vandalize, or stir up troubles, rather you will be sinful and accomplice in case he kept silent!!
I invoke Allah, the Great, by His Beautiful Names and Lofty Attributes, to protect our country and all the other Muslim countries form killing, evil, destruction, Kufr and Takfeer, and any other calamities or plagues; I also invoke Him to preserve its faith and security, guide its people kindly toward their true Religion, and guide them, all, to hold on to the Book and the Sunnah and gather around the word of Tawheed, which is the base of such unity. We also invoke Allah, the Exalted, to protect the Muslims for all evils and preserve our leadership (ruler), guide him to all that is good, and support him to act upon His Commands. O Lord, please, guide all other the Muslim rulers and help them to rule according to your Book and the Sunnah of your Prophet, O Gracious, O Merciful!
