I would like to make a comment regarding this thread: http://www.islamicboard.com/refutati...tml#post727019

which was closed on the basis of "This forum does not allow sectarian discussions", yet the links that were posted in reply:

http://www.islamicboard.com/refutati...tml#post727019

Are nothing less than sectarian discussions themselves and name calling other Muslims, is this not dishonesty on the Admins part?

In The Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful

:salamext:
and greetings

I think the administrators don't want the average Muslims to get tangled in these types of issues, but at the same time they don't want anyone to be misguided by all the deviations. although its annoying sometimes that the mods and admins close the interesting threads, there is benefit behind their intention.
Allah knows best.
It would be better if a mod or admin answer this.

Wa Alaykum Assalaam,

Jazakallahu khayr for your post. This issue has been discussed a number of times before, and I will quote what brother Kadafi said, which should aswer your question Insha'Allaah:

By allowing discussions on the people of bida'a, we are introducing argumentation, generating confusion which defeats the purpose of this forum and that is to call people to the way of Allaah.

Ibn Battah mentions an athaar from Sufyaan Ath-Thwaree (may Allaah have mercy on him) who is reported to have said:
"Whoever listens to a person of innovation leaves the protection of Allaah and is left to himself. "

And the same Tabi'ee that you have quoted (Al-Hasan) who said:
"Do not sit with the people of innovated beliefs, do not debate with them and do not listen to them."
Imaam al-Laalikaa'ee mentions all these athaars from the salaf towards the people of innovations in his Sharh Usool ul-I'tiqaad.

...

We do our utmost best to call people to the Sunnah while avoiding the discussions of baatil [falsehood].

...

may Allaah (Exalted is He) give us tawfeeq in purifying this forum and calling it to the authenthic and traditional Islaam, ameen.
