I think this really suits this section is like a poem/story.

The Wedding.

They first met at a den of sin and vice
the meeting criteria being; was the other looking nice
Never was their criteria Deen
In fact Deen in them, couldn't be seen.

After many a lewd and very crude an interlude
the details of which, often, were very rude
they decided to tie the knot
rather than wallow and rot

Then came the engagement function
quite contrary to the Shari injunction
With free intermingling of the sexes
it, one with an iota of Imaan vexes

Suddenly the telephone, an important tool
became the plaything of these Shaytaani fools
Long before the prolonged nikah date
they behaved as if they were intimate mates

Finally came the big wedding 'do'
with them trying to be like the Jones's too!
The bride sat like a waxen puppet on the stage
much to her Lord's rage

With all and sundry viewing and even kissing the bride
isn't Jahanum for them a complimentary ride?
Do they entertain a hope of this marriage to last
when they do not hold onto Deen fast?

Me neither. A groom is allowed to kiss his bride. Also, starting off badly does not necessarily mean after marriage the relationship will turn sour. Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) is reported to have said, paraphrase,: The best thing for two people who love each other is marriage.

:sl: Noo.,you didnt get it, this for those who think is all right to mess around before marriage and then expect a beautiful marriage, is suppose to make you think twice before getting involved in a haram relationship and the halal way is the best way:):w:

AsalamuAlaikum youngsista,

Unlike some people on this forum, I don't need a map, diagram or pie chart to understand. (J/J)

I really enjoyed the poem....unfortunately this practise is very common in the Somali community. May Allah protect us from it, ameen.

Not sure what was so hard to understand...:)
Nice poem sis, the message is loud and clear.

The Prophet (as) said; "Whoever emulates a nation becomes of them."

A-Salam, lovely poem sister. Mansha'allah. I think sister Noor is talking about the intermingling of both sexes, I guess it depends on the family not all Somali's do it. A girl I know just got married, she had her wedding segregated and not taped. That's nice if you ask me. Some weddings are shocking. Ameen to your Du'a sister. May Allah make us pious and steadfast Muslims. Ameen.
