:sl: :? BROTHERS AND SISTERS I KNOW WE ARE ALL FROM DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AND SOME TIMES HAVE A DIFFICULT TIME TRYING TO UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER BUT...WE SHOULD HAVE ATLEST 1 THINGS IN COMMON ISLAM WHICH TELLS US THE TRADITIONAL WAY TO DRESS AS A MUSLIM. I AM JUST SAYING THIS BECAUSE I WOULD GO INTO A MOSQUE OR ANY MUSLIM GATHERING AND SEE ALL THESE MUSLIMS DRESSED SOO DIFFERENTLY. YOU HAVE THE THE PAKISTAIN SISTTER WEARING THE PANTS AND THAT LONG SHIRT(sorry dont no what it is called) AND A SCARF, THEN THE SOMALIAN SISTERS WITH THE LONG SCIRT AND A LONG HIJAB AND THEN THERE IS THE ARAB SISTERS WEARING A PANTS **** AND HIJAB. AND WHAT I DONT GET IS THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE (WOMEN) WEAR PANTS IN SOME MUSLIM CULTURES BUT TO OTHERS IT IS BAD FOR A WOMEN TO WEAR PANTS LIKE THE SOMLIAN CULTURE, BECAUSE MAN AND WOMEN SHOULD NOT DRESS A LIKE.

SHOULD MAN AND WOMEN DRESS COMPALETLY DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER
IF SO WHAT CAN WOMEN WEAR IN ORDER TO DIFFER FROM MEN. AND DO U LIKE THE WAY WOMEN IN UR CULTURE DRESS(not cultral dress but the Islamic dressing) just a question i have to ask i realy want to know what u all think of this. THANK U :w: :)

the dress code for both male and females muslims is to dress modestly, and ie. wearing tight pants is not modest at all.
so we should be modest.

:sl: na'am according to quran and sunnah the man must not immitate the women and the women must not immitate the man as Allah Azwajal curses the person who does so. for this reason in particualr men and Women should definently dress different, Women can wear a lot to differ from men (i assume your refering to outer garments :rollseyes ) the sisters is required to wear the full hijab which of course men dont wear covering from head to toe and if she prefers a niqab which covers her face and leaves only her eyes apperant (both eyes, or just the left or none at all)...and for the brothers they have the dress of muhammed ibn abduallah sallahu alyhi wasalm.

Islam teaches that women are to dress modestly, and modesty is defined differently by each and every culture. So of course, Muslim women from different backgrounds will not dress the same way.

To answer your question, I believe that it is okay to wear anything but the most important is that the dress code in Islam is modestly and not wearing very bad clothes.

Jazak'Allah Khair.

Sincerely,

Not really... the body parts that women are told to cover are the same, no matter which culture. Wearing pants for women is not allowed in public, regardless of whether the culture considers it modest.

The only place culture comes into play is how the women manifest the clothing... for example women in Saudi Arabia traditionally manifest it as very loose black clothing, whereas in Malaysia their tradition clothing (i.e. non-western) clothing is very bright and colourful. Neither is wrong. However, if a Malyasian woman were to visit Saudi, it would be better for her not to wear her colourful clothing in the middle of an area were all women wear black out door since this would cause her to attract to much attention.

As for what body parts are covered, this does not differ.
