View Full Version : I knelt to pray but not for long

Muttaqeen

Pass it on

I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Muslim duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Allah to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"
Now do you have the time to pass it on?

IF SOMEONE HAD A GUN HELD IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE AND ASKED YOU IF YOU BELIEVED IN ALLAH,
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

SAY NO AND FEEL ASHAMED THE REST OF YOUR LIFE?
OR SAY YES, I DO, AND DIE STANDING UP FOR ALLAH?
IF YOU'D SAY NO, THEN DELETE THIS E-MAIL.
IF YOU WOULD SAY YES, PASS THIS ON.

Funny, isn't it?

Funny how simple it is for people to trash Allah and then wonder why the world's going to hell.

Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Allah says.

Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything that Allah says.

Funny how someone can say "I believe in Allah" but still follow Shaytaan

(Who, also "believes" in Allah).

Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding Allah, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them.

Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what Allah thinks of me. Are you thinking?

Pass this on only if you mean it.

Yes, I do Love Allah!
?An Intelligent Person Is One Who Is Constantly Thinking About And Preparing For Death?
"O you who believe! What is the matter with you, that when you are asked to march forth in the Cause of Allah, you cling heavily to the earth. Are you pleased with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter. But little is the enjoyment of the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter."

{Ya Allah }
Today, upon a bus,
I saw a girl with golden hair.
and wished I was as fair.
When suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle.
She had one leg and wore a crutch.
But as she passed, a smile.
Ya Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 legs, the world is mine.

I stopped to buy some candy.
The lad who sold it had such charm.
I talked with him, he seemed so glad.
If I were late, it'd do no harm.
And as I left, he said to me,
"I thank you, you've been so kind.
It's nice to talk with folks like you.
You see," he said, "I'm blind."
Ya Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 eyes, the world is mine.

Later while walking down the street,
I saw a child with eyes of blue.
He stood and watched the others play.
He did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment and then I said,
"Why don't you join the others, dear?"
He looked ahead without a word.
And then I knew, he couldn't hear.
Ya Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 ears, the world is mine.

With feet to take me where I'd go.
With eyes to see the sunset's glow.
With ears to hear what I'd know.
Ya Allah, forgive me when I whine.
I've been blessed indeed, the world is mine.

I had too much to do.

For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Muslim duty was now done

All day long I had no time

No time to speak of Allah to friends,

No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in

But at last the time, the time to die.

I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his
hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
Your name I cannot find.

Now do you have the time to pass it on?

Ill tell you a story that comes to mind after reading that poem.
While in Madinah, we knew this shop keeper. He used to sell general grocery next to the prophet's masjid. He was a really nice man and i couldnt help but notice that he never used to record the sales he made on a cash till or similar. I asked him about it one day while doing my shopping. he laughed and said to me that the reason he did not need to record the sales from his store on a daily basis was that he remembered what he sold and how much money he made each time he stood up to pray. That story stayed with me ever since.

Salem aléikom wa ramatullah wa barakatu

thank you, barak'ALLAH ou fik orti, sister for this "text"

"I had no TIME"

For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"
