there are sections which get thoroughly checked before the post is put up

In some sections, such as World Affairs and Discover Islam, you require the mods' approval before a thread is shown.

If your thread hasn't appeared, chances are it wasn't approved ...
I don't know if the mods will PM to give you their reasons.
PM-ing one of the mods for clarification may be the more appropriate way to deal with this.

Or the Mod might be Eesa and he likes to read abit of background on some of the topic before opening them so that he has some knowledge of what is being said to avoid injustice to anyone :thumbs_up
