A smart cat always finds it way home... unfortunately

A man absolutely hated his wife's cat and decided to get rid of him one day by driving him 20 blocks from his home and leaving him at the park.

As he was getting home, the cat was walking up the driveway.

The next day he decided to drive the cat 40 blocks away. He put the beast out and headed home.

Driving back up his driveway, there was the cat!

He kept taking the cat further and further and the cat would always beat him home. At last he decided to drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, past the bridge, then right again and another right until he reached what he thought was a safe distance from his home and left the cat there.

Hours later the man calls home to his wife: "Jen, is the cat there?"

"Yes," the wife answers, "why do you ask?"

Frustrated, the man answered, "Put that beast on the phone, I'm lost! and need directions!"

The Oriental Breed
Coat colour: The basic colours
Solid - In the solid color cat, the coat color should be of uniform density and color from the tip to the root of each hair and from the nose to the tail. The full coat color score (20) should be used to assess the quality and the correctness of the color.
The basics colour are:
BLUE: even blue, color may range from pale blue-grey to deep slate-grey. Nose leather and paw pads: blue.

CHESTNUT: rich chestnut brown. Nose leather same color as coat. Paw pads: cinnamon.

CINNAMON: light reddish brown, the color of a cinnamon stick, distinctly warmer, lighter and redder than chestnut. Nose leather and paw pads: tan to pinkish beige.

CREAM: buff cream. Lighter shades preferred. Nose leather and paw pads: pink.

EBONY: dense coal black. Free from any tinge of rust on tips or smoke undercoat. Nose leather: black. Paw pads: black or brown.

FAWN: light lavender with pale cocoa overtones. Nose leather and paw pads: a light shade of dusty rose pink (no blue or lavender tones).

RED: deep, rich, clear, brilliant red. Lips and chin the same color as coat. Nose leather and paw pads: flesh or coral pink.

WHITE: pure, glistening white. Nose leather and paw pads: pink.

LAVENDER: frosty-grey with a pinkish tone. Nose leather and paw pads: lavender-pink.

My neighbours black cat had kittens and then one of the kittens had kittens and then the neighbours relatives came for Christmas and now my yard is full of small black cats in various sizes. But I get worried about a black cat crossing my path, so I walk around the way the cats run ahead of me. Sometimes they meet me at the train station, and run ahead of me to the house. Once I gave the mother left over food. Once only milk. They are cute, but normally I don't get along with cats.

Its enough if you give them food from time to time. I like when the animals are free, living after their needs.giving them food you ensure them exactly this freedom. :)

ANIMALS NEWS
Your house just changed because you got a new furry member :? Have your favourite pets did something cute or less cute :? Please contact us to can post a full report of the event :)

Todays news: Category(don't try this) The cats are undisputed sleep champions of the animal kingdom.

  • Although the number of hours a cat spends sleeping can vary considerably among individuals, felines spend an average of 16 hours per day in slumberland.

  • No one is quite sure why, but the solitary cat's lifestyle, punctuated by frenetic, energy-draining bursts of hunting and playing, is thought to necessitate this form of energy conservation. In fact, sleeping wildcats are often described as "resting for the hunt." Because they consume so much energy in taking down large, wily prey, wildcats usually sleep even more than domestic cats. Female lions, the primary hunters of the species, have been known to rest or sleep as much as 20 hours a day.

  • The cat's diet is also thought to be a contributing factor to its ability to sleep so much. Large grazing herbivores need to feed for hours on end to get enough nutrition to survive and generally only have time to sleep four or five hours a day. The protein-rich diet of the feline, on the other hand, requires no such investment of time for daily sustenance. Instead of eating all day, the cat can stock up on sleep for its short, high-energy chases.

Ok,ok stop the news , i wake up now:mad:

Me too - who said i sleep so much :? :-[

Cats breed

Part V Breed profile :Selkirk Rex

Origin :
One of the newest natural breeds, this naturally curly cat originated from a housecat, Miss DePesto of Noface, found in a shelter in Montana (1987). Given to Persian breeder, Jeri Newman of Montana, who bred her to PhotoFinish of Deekay, a black Persian. "Pest" produced three curly kittens out of six – proving that unlike the Devon Rex and Cornish Rex, Pest's mutation was dominant. Because the gene is dominant, curly kittens can be born in the same litter with straight haired kittens.

Appearance :
Body:
  • The Selkirk's head is round, broad and full-cheeked with round underlying bone structure. Well-padded whisker pads give the muzzle a square appearance. The medium-sized, tapering ears are broad at the base and set well apart on the head. Large, rounded eyes, set well apart, give the cat an alert, inquisitive expression.
  • The medium to large body is well balanced with a muscular torso and a straight back that rises slightly toward the hindquarters. The tail is medium length and heavy at the base.

Fur: The coat, which is curly, soft and plush. The Selkirk possesses all three hair types – guard, down and awn – and all are curly, with the curl more pronounced around the neck and tail. Even the whiskers curl, giving the face a whimsical appearance.

The Selkirk comes in both shorthair and longhair varieties, and considerable difference exists between the two. The coat of the shorthaired Selkirk is plush, medium in length, and curls over the entire body. In the longhair, the dense, semi-long coat hangs in loose individual ringlets and has a more dramatic look – you can't miss those curly locks. The curls are particularly prominent around the neck and on the tail. In both hair lengths, the fur is soft and dense.

This breed is not for the uptight organized pet owner. These cats' humans must be prepared to take all kinds of hair jokes such as: "The cat with the bad hair day." "Why don't you groom your cat," or "This cat is our dip and dry variety." Such comments lead to the hidden secret: they make you laugh. :) (lets not laugh on his curls :D but is really something) Although they may not always win the beauty pageant, they always win the title of Miss Congeniality.

Fur patterns:
The Selkirk rex is accepted in all colors and patterns, including colorpoint.

Personality
  • One first may be attracted to the Selkirk's cute, curly exterior, but these cats also make champion companions. They are curious, tolerant, extremely sociable cats that enjoy spending time with their preferred persons. People-oriented without being clingy, Selkirks have a generous measure of love and loyalty for their human companions. Selkirks fit in well with other family members including children, and usually get along well with other companion animals. Because they are very social, they don't do well in isolation or when left alone for long periods.
  • Selkirks are fun-loving cats that stay playful and kittenish well into adulthood. They enjoy a good game of fetch and particularly enjoy games in which their guardians take active roles. Laser lights, feather toys, catnip mice and even a wad of paper can keep them entertained for hours.

Intelligence
They are an incredibly patient, loving, and tolerant cats.

Grooming
Shorthaired Selkirks have medium-length hair with loose, individual curls. A good once-a-week combing and an occasional bath will keep the shorthair looking sharp. Longhaired Selkirks require more grooming, although not as much as you might expect. Combing twice a week with a good steel comb removes dead hairs and prevents matting. Bathing makes the fur curl up to its best advantage so a monthly bath is recommended.

Health
Despite rumors to the contrary, rex breeds are not hypoallergenic. That's because it's not usually cat hair that causes the allergic reaction in humans

Cats breed

Part VI Breed profile :Sphynx

Origin :

In 1966 a domestic cat gave birth to a hairless kitten in Toronto, Canada. It was discovered to be a natural mutation and the Sphynx cat, as we know it today, came into existence.
In 1978, Canadian breeder Shirley Smith rescued a hairless male kitten, Bambi, that she neutered and kept as a pet. Bambi's mother, a domestic shorthair, subsequently produced two more hairless offspring. In 1983 Smith sent the two kittens to Dr. Hugo Hernandez in the Netherlands. Dr. Hernandez bred the two kittens, named Punkie and Paloma, to a Devon rex. The descendants of these cats, along with the descendants of the Pearson cats, became the foundation of today's Sphynx. Breeders discovered that even though the hairless gene is recessive to short hair, the gene is incompletely dominant over the recessive gene governing the Devon rex coat. Crosses between the Sphynx and Devon rex helped widen the gene pool and increase numbers.

In February 1998, the Sphynx was accepted for CFA registration, a great stride for the breed.

[/B]
Appearance :
Body:
  • Once you get past the shock of seeing a naked cat, you'll notice that this breed has other distinctive traits. Their ears, for one thing, look large enough to intercept satellite transmissions :giggling:. Their paw pads are thick, giving them the illusion of walking on tiny air cushions. The large, lemon shaped eyes are expressive, slightly slanted, and set wide apart. :)
  • The head is a modified wedge shape, with prominent cheekbones and whisker pads and a strong, well-developed chin. Medium-sized cats, Sphynx are broad-chested and hard-muscled.

Fur: Is really not the case to discuss about coat.:nervous:
Sometimes they can have a short hair coat (depend on recesive genes which appear naturally.)

Fur patterns:
Despite the virtual lack of hair, Sphynx come in every possible color and pattern since color, like beauty, are more than fur deep. However, the exact color is sometimes difficult to determine on a hairless cat, so in the show ring no points are awarded or taken away for color or pattern.

Personality
According to the French breed standard, the Sphynx is part monkey, part dog, part child, and part cat. While this may bring a strange image to mind, the breed does seem to have personality traits of each. To say Sphynx are lively is an understatement; they perform monkey-like aerialist stunts from the top of doorways and book shelves. Devoted and loyal, they follow their humans around, wagging their tails doggy style and purring with affection. They demand your unconditional attention and are as mischievous and lovable as children. While the Sphynx may not be for everyone, their unique appearance and charming temperament has won them an active, enthusiastic following.

Intelligence
One of the questions most asked is "Don't they get cold?" Well, of course, if it is too cold for you it will be too cold for a hairless cat too. However, these cats are smart enough to find a warm human, dog or cat to curl up with or they will get under your bed covers. Conclusion: they are smart cats:thumbs_up

Grooming
Think again. Sphynx must be bathed regularly to remove excess oil from their skin. The sebaceous glands, located at the base of each hair follicle, secrete an oily substance called sebum. All cats produce these secretions, but Sphynx don't have fur to absorb them. Allowed to collect, they can cause skin problems. Too, it's no fun to snuggle with a sticky Sphynx. Because Sphynx have no ear hair, ear wax and dirt build up more quickly, so their ears must be cleaned regularly as well. Train your Sphynx to tolerate bathing when she's young and this won't be an ordeal. Unlike other cats, Sphynx only take a second to dry.

Health
This is a very robust breed with few health or genetic problems.

Both breeds appeared naturally :shade: None of them was created by humans. They only kept breeding what appeared naturally. Even the coat sheeps is not really to common amongst cats
Both make the people smile :D and are considered funny. Thats why are in competition together.

all sorts of mutants and freaks are born so in this sense, yes, it is natural. what is not natural is to perpetuate the freaks by breeding them. a mammal is supposed to have fur - it serves a purpose, just as eyelashes help protect your eyes.
but i will stop being The Crank. (well, for today.....maybe).

  • Shape: A modified, slightly rounded wedge without flat planes; the brow, cheek and profile lines all showing a gentle contour; a slight rise from the bridge of the nose to the forehead, which should be of good size, with width between the ears, flowing into the arched neck without a break. • The muzzle shall follow gentle contours in conformity with the skull as viewed from the front profile. The muzzle shall not be sharply pointed and there shall be no evidence of snippiness, foxiness or whisker pinch.
  • Chin shall be full, neither undershot or overshot, having a rounded appearance.
  • Ears: Large, alert and moderately pointed, broad and cupped at base. Ear set on a line toward the rear of the skull. The inner ear shall have horizontal tufts that reach nearly to the other side of the ear; tufts desirable.

  • Tail: Having a full brush, thick at the base and slightly tapering. Length in balance with torso

COAT:
Very soft to the touch, extremely fine textured and double coated. The more dense the coat, the better.

  • Ruddy - Overall impression is of an orange-brown or ruddy color tipped with black. Color has radiant or glowing quality. Darker shading along spine allowed. Underside of body and inside of legs and chest to be an even ruddy tone harmonizing with top coat; without ticking, barring, necklaces or belly marks. Nose leather tile red; paw pads black or dark brown, with black between toes and extending upward on rear legs. Toe tufts on front and rear feet black or dark brown. White or off-white on upper throat, lips and nostrils only. Tail continuing the dark spine line, ending at black at the tip - complete absence of rings on tail. Preference given to unmarked ruddy color. Ears tipped with black or dark brown. Ticking begins at skin with ruddy tone, alternating with black.

  • Red - Warm, glowing red, ticked with chocolate-brown. Deeper shades of red preferred. Ears and tail tipped with chocolate-brown. Pad pads pink, with chocolate-brown between toes extending slightly beyond paws. Nose leather rosy pink. Ticking begins at skin with red tone alternating with chocolate-brown.

WHAT CAUSES CAT-ALLERGY?

The real culprit appears to be cat saliva which contains an allergen; this allergen is a protein called Fel d 1. When a cat washes itself, saliva is deposited on its fur (or skin in the case of hairless cats). The saliva dries into dust (dander or dandruff) which is released when a cat scratches or moves and when humans stroke or brush a cat.

All cats wash, even those which lack guard hairs or which lack hair altogether. The dust forms on all types of cat hair or directly on the cat’s skin if it lacks fur. Hairless Sphynx cats produce dandruff directly on their skin and though they produce less of it than furred cats, they can still produce enough to trigger an allergic reaction. An allergy occurs when the body over-reacts to a substance (allergen) and produces excessive amounts of histamine. Excessive histamine production leads to the irritating symptoms associated with cat-allergy - itchy eyes, sneezing, skin rash etc.

Although Fel d 1 is the protein most often associated with allergies, humans are very variable and there will be some people who develop allergies to other feline proteins. I have met people who are unaffected by Siamese cats, but allergic to other cats and I have a friend whose cat alergy is only triggered by male cats (even if the cats are neutered).

In general, it is not the cat hair which causes the allergy, it is the dandruff (dust) on the cat’s hair and skin. All cats produce dandruff, though some cats produce less than others. No cat is allergen-free, not even hairless cats.

CAN I REDUCE THE ALLERGIC REACTION WITHOUT REHOMING THE CAT?

  1. Inquire about desensitising treatment. Not all GPs offer this treatment.
  2. Use a spray which can be applied to the cat’s fur to neutralize or reduce allergens on its fur. The apparent “effectiveness” of these sprays varies as some people are more allergic than others.
  3. Wear a pollen filter mask whenever you groom the cat or indulge in long cuddles with it. Grooming is best done in a well-ventilated area so that the dust dissipates.
  4. Restrict the cat’s access to certain rooms. Some rooms should be kept cat-free. Don’t let the cat sleep in your bedroom as it will leave behind dust-coated fur.
  5. Invest in a good air filter unit. These are not cheap, but they extract the minute dandruff particles which pass through most vacuum cleaners.
  6. If the cat lives indoors only, bathe it in distilled water each month to wash away dried saliva dust. Tap water leaves residues on the cat’s fur.

The MAINE COON BREED STANDARD

Head:
  • Shape: The head is medium in width and slightly longer than wide with allowance for broadening and jowls in males. Muzzle is square when viewed from any angle. Cheek bones are high. Chin must be firm and in line with nose and upper lip.
  • Profile: The nose is slightly concave with no break.
  • Ears: Large, tall, wide at base, tapering to appear pointed, with lynx-like tipping and inner tufts extending beyond the outer edge of the ears. They are set high on the head, the distance between them being equal to the width of an ear at its base.
  • Eyes: Large, round, wide-set, with a slightly oblique setting. Eye color may be shades of green, gold or copper. Clarity of color is desired. There is no relationship between eye color and coat color, except in white cats, which may be blue-eyed, copper-eyed or odd-eyed.

Body and Tail:
  • Body: Medium to large in size, muscular and broad chested. The body should be long with all parts proportioned to create a rectangular appearance. Neck medium to long; may be thick and muscular in older males. The body should feel solid, with firm muscle and no flabbiness. When viewed from the rear, there is a definite squareness to the rump.
  • Legs/Feet: Sturdily boned, wide-set, medium in length, in proportion to the body. Feet large, round and well tufted underneath and between the pads.
  • Tail: Long, at least the length of the body, wide at the base and tapering to the tip.

Coat:
Length: Coat is uneven in length and markedly subject to seasonal variation. Fur on head, neck and shoulders is short, becoming gradually longer along the back toward the tail and down the sides toward the belly. Britches and belly fur are full and shaggy. The coat flows smoothly down the body, continuing in the same manner on the tail. There is a frontal ruff, generally heavier on males than females. The tail is heavy furred, long and flowing, but it is not bushy as is a fox’s brush.
Texture: More or less self maintaining, the coat is warm with a light density undercoat covered by a water proof outer coat. The coat is not fluffy. Coat texture may vary with coat color.
Color:
White trim around the chin and lip line allowed except in solid color cats.
To see the exact color please visit the site :)

Then is a Maine coon breed  If his father was one, he must be the same breed. This breed is very well spreed in America and Europe. If Grey will have the mood to take a pic in a bright color room we will settle his final breed. Please learn him some cats manner. Is not polite to show the back to a women cat :-[ even if she is a tricolor. (calico pattern of coat)

On page 44 are the two breeds standard files : Maine coon and Somali. You must take the cat in your arms and check up closely his head, body, tail, color of the coat to see exactly to which breed belong. Thats why at show , the owners are not sending the pic of the cat. They are bringing the cat because the jury has to examine very closely the cats features. When you finish tell me please :-[

Don't be upset about the lynx ears because if you look closely , you will notice Grey father has no lynx ear. That little lynx thing is from grooming the fur from the ear in front, to give him thats expression.

QUIZ : CAT COMMUNICATION
PART II: THE EAR SIGNALS

QUIZ ANSWER : ALERT- WITH ATTENTION FOCUSED AHEAD :)
Today based on the quiz results presented above will try to explain the meaning of different ears signals:
When content and relaxed, a cat sits with its ears facing forward but tilted slightly back. However, its ears demonstrate that the cat is alert even when it appears half asleep. (from here the day dream expression :) noticed by zAk)

If the cat's attention is caught by a noise or a movement, its pricks its ears more upright, maybe swivelling one or both to track the source of the noise.

If the cat grows anxious, its ears move slightly back and flatten down. An fearful cat has lowered ears. The more anxious or fearful the cat is, the flatter the ears until they are lying straight backwards, flat to the skull. If the cat is fearful but aggress, the ears flatten sideways - a combination of the forward pointing "alert" ears and the flattened/lowered "fearful" ears.

If one ear is flattened and the other isn't, the signal is more ambivalent and the cat isn't yet sure how to react to what is going on around it. Generally it will withdraw a short way in order to consider the situation. While considering, the ears shift and change as it processes stimuli and possible responses. A similar highly mobile state occurs when the ears are panning round to catch noises, but the cat's entire demeanour will be one of alertness or interest, probably with a slightly twitching tail.

Ears pressed backward onto the head giving the appearance of a snake shows extreme defense (ears folded back to protect them from harm)

The ears point forward shows an offensive cat.

  • Average Litter Size: 3- 4 litters
  • Weight Height Range: -
  • Energy: High

The worst thing that you can do to an Abyssinian is deprive it of human company, and it is important that it lives in a household where people are usually at home. It also hates being confined, and needs plenty of space. It is a good climber, and will appreciate a garden full of trees and high places. This cat is not much of a talker, but will still let its owner know exactly what it wants. It is playful and inquisitive but also sensible and will not rush into situations recklessly. After a game it will be happiest sat on its owners lap being stroked and petted.

The World's Favorite Pets

Household pets are common in America, Europe, and Asia.

  • In China and Hong Kong, cats are thought to bring good luck and are kept in shops as well as homes.
  • The Japanese keep birds and crickets as pets.
  • In Arab countries, dogs are considered unclean. Contact with a dog must be followed by a ritual washing.
  • The Italians also have little use for dogs but find cats charming and companionable. Thousands of stray cats live in the Forum, the Colosseum, and other historic landmarks in Rome.
  • The Inuit Eskimo of northern Canada adopt bear cubs, foxes, birds, and baby seals.
  • Animals are rarely kept as pets in Africa.
  • The British are especially fond of pets.
  • Half of all the households in England have a pet, usually a cat or bird.

CAT COLLAR

Cat Collars...
Here's What You Need to Know
  • Which Cats Need a Collar?
    - Safe cat collars with identification tags should be worn by all cats! Yes, even indoor cats should wear collars with ID tags!
  • Beware of Dangerous Cat Collars - Two types of cat collars are safest for your cat. One is a breakaway-type collar that has a plastic part designed to "break away" from your cat's neck should something come between your cat and the collar. This prevents the collar from strangling or hanging your cat. Break-away collars are designed to break under pressure or weight, such as your cat’s weight hanging from a branch. (You can even get breakaway cat collars with flea control at PETsMART.)

The other type of collar is one with an elastic panel that will stretch in the event that the collar gets stuck on something
    .

The safest cat collar has both a breakaway feature and an elastic panel, but they are getting harder and harder to find. Most pet supply stores are now only selling breakaway collars.
    Breakaway collars:

If you allow your cat to go outdoors, please consider a reflective collar for added safety on dark nights. And a cat collar with a bell is always helpful to the birds in your neighborhood!

CAT COLLAR

Cat Collars...
Here's What You Need to Know

  • Choosing the Right Size Collar for Your Cat
    - A cat collar should not be so tight that it irritates (or chokes) your cat, nor so loose that your cat can easily slip it off.

A general rule for a good fit says that you should be able to fit two fingers between your cat’s neck and the collar. If your prefer, you can also measure your cat's neck (pull away her hair so you can get close to her skin) and add one to two inches. This should be the measurement of a proper fitting collar.

Check the fit frequently to make sure that the collar is on properly. Be careful that the elastic on a collar with an elastic panel has not become so stretched out that it could fall off of your cat.

  • Identification Tag for Your Cat's Collar - All cats should have an ID tag on their collar. Your cat's name, your name and your current contact information should be included on the pet ID tag. A collar with your visible contact information is your cat's ticket home to you.

According to The Humane Society of the United States, cats found wandering without visible identification have a tragically poor track record of being reunited with their people:cry: . Many of these unknown and unclaimed cats will perish in shelters while their "owners" search frantically.

good info on collars. i didn't know that there were "breakaway collars".
i've been thinking about putting a collar on The Pigeon Eating Monster but had considered them too dangerous. but this is something to consider. it would have to have bells too.
this sounds ideal (with bells added)
"The safest cat collar has both a breakaway feature and an elastic panel, but they are getting harder and harder to find. Most pet supply stores are now only selling breakaway collars."
that's probably why most don't carry them anymore. will have to check this out. so far, there have been no more dead pigeons - at least that i know of!

The collar serves to:
  1. identification - not everyone would like to put a chip inside of the cat, so they prefer the collar with an identification tag - are lot of modells and some of them are cute :)
  2. bird allert - the cat is coming and the birds must know that
  3. human alarm - in the night (dark), when the cat cross the street or you are just looking after him you can see it
  4. walk the cat - if she is indoor you can take her out in the leash

speaking of fashion for animals - recently i was in one of those big chain pet stores and i noticed they had a whole rack of clothes for dogs - i couldn't believe my eyes!! it's amazing the endless amounts of stuff you can get people to buy.
apparently the people who buy them don't show themselves in public as i've never seen a dressed dog.

They dress the dog mainly to prevent them to get wet or when its cold. Lets say the dog has less fur and to help mother nature. Also, during the summer you can see small dog accessories, like hats or glass, depend if the dog has problems with the sun.

The January monthly breed winner is:

THE SELKIRK REX
:bravo:

Until now , counting the votes we can say are prefered the breeds with:
  • the ears up but not too big (Scotish fold and Oriental lost because of that)
  • the coat atraight or curled but it must be there(the Sphynx was bold :( )
  • a longer tail (Japanese Bobtail, the favourite breed of the first week lost this week due to that)
  • a fit body but not to thin(Abyssinian cat )

CAT COLLAR

Conclusion
There are many different kinds of cat collars on the market, so it is imperative that you choose the best option for your cat's needs and body. Consider taking your cat along on a shopping trip to your local pet store most welcome animals of all types and try on different models to find the perfect fit. Keep in mind that although color, material, and style is important, these aspects should come second to the fit of the collar.

Traditionally, cats wear collars that hold their identification information and a small bell or another type of noise making device in order to make small animals or birds aware of a predator's presence. Cats tend to have retained more hunting instincts than domesticated dogs, so this is a viable concern with many cat owners tired of finding their feline bringing home helpless animals.

A buckle collar is the easiest type for a cat to wear, since it can be put on and taken off quickly and easily. For a younger cat that will need a collar that grows with them, consider choosing an adjustable collar to save you from purchasing new ones in the future.

Some owners choose elastic collars that slip on and off over the cat's head. These are great for cats that do not need the extra weight and bulk of a buckle. Keep in mind that any elastic collars should be fitted to your cat to ensure the collar is not too loose or too tight.

For indoor cats, consider choosing collars with breakaway panels or buckles that will immediately free the cat if he or she becomes caught on something inside your house.

If you have an outdoor cat, look into a collar that uses reflective materials. These reflective materials will keep your precious feline safe at night. This is quite important, since animals are more likely to become injured or even killed since they cannot be seen. A reflective collar is also a good idea for indoor cats, since you can see the animal in the dark to avoid stepping on your pet. step on the kitten:muddlehea

Once you have determined the specific type of collar for your cat, choose a color that fits his or her personality. Whether your feline wants a rocker look :coolalien with black leather and metal studs or a pretty princess with pink rhinestones:statisfie , the options are limitless!

Can the humans to be so kind like the animals are :?

"A man walking along a path felt very thirsty. Reaching a well, he descended into it, drank his fill, and came up. Then he saw a dog with its tongue hanging out, trying to lick up mud to quench its thirst. The man said, “This dog is feeling the same thirst that I felt.”
"So he went down into the well again, filled his shoe with water, and gave the dog a drink. So, God thanked him and forgave his sins."
"The Prophet was asked, “Messenger of God, are we rewarded for kindness towards animals?"
"He said: "There is a reward for kindness to every living animal or human."
[Saheeh Muslim]

The main question which every day is waiting our answers : can we be so kind to understand their silent S.O.S. which needs so little help from us

We had a cat called shadow.. it used to go out at night so it caught fleas. We had to get it a flea collar and it used to try to shake it off. But the fleas run to the other side of the body anyway. The best thing to do is give them a bath, not a shower but wipe the water on their body and keep them distracted so they become too busy to notice.

That will work insha'Allaah.

Peace.

i voted none for now - tho since i learned here about the collar with both a breakaway feature and an elastic panel, i may look into this one (with bell) for my Pigeon Eating Monster. i had no idea that there were so many options. i like the idea of the breakaway feauture.
one thing for sure - my animals, like me, are decidedly and happily unfashionable!

cool thread...I think i have been here but, been to so many animal threads that I dont remember, very cute kittens everyone.
and Tania thanks for invite.
Here are my two cents :) I got two keets...tell me what you think about 'em???
The white and blue one is BADAL(clouds), but my daughters call her Mittu (sweet) and the Blue/grey one is Miya (hubby) cuz he's the male. So it's Miya Mittu (neone who speaks Urdu, knows that's what you usually call your parrot, but I split the name)

Sorry I can't seem to resize the pic...I know it's big :D

They are a lovely, happy(after how they smile for the camera) family :)I like you are leaving them out from the cage. And the fact you didn't cut from their feathers. I saw on Animal Planet, in saudi more owners asked the vet to do this in order to prevent th bird to fly. imsad. The birds are created to fly.

Now i know how to say SWEET HUBBY- Mittu miya

The truth is even if the manufacturers are still splitting the collars in the groups, they are making now collars with more than one property. So the fancy collars are breakaway too, and even the safety one has little drawnings or bows to make them more pretty. If i understood well, its essential when you buy the collar to ask or read the instructions from the bag to be sure exactly how they did created the collar. (to avoid to buy one which has only one property like in the quiz:embarrass )

Well, I dunno one of em was sick....
I used to think it had some mental problem. She had her head tilted to the side one time and it stayed like that till she died...:( But when she died it was straight again. I found her dead when i got back home from school. I was about to change the food and water :( I was in high school then. Its the same as the sec one. The light blue. The first one got bit by my neighbors cat. Actually it almost ate my bird :offended: It took it under the bushes and my mom hosed the cat out and it spit her back out lool. She came running towards us =\. Since then, she started acting realllly weird. I saw her die slowly in front of me

I think his behaviour is more related to his temper - he is the boss in the house and a boss don't wear a collar, off course.Later when he will like the fashion , may be will change his mind. Do you have a picture of him :? Whats this Grafield syndrome :embarrass

awwwwwwwww sorry to hear that sis. I wanna have a cat but I think my kids will sqeeze her to death :) so birds are easy atleast they can fly away from them. But I also heard if they sit with head tucked in their wings then they are not well. Mine was doing that, but lately ever since the new bird joined, my older one's been more happy and chipper. So I am kindda relaxed from that.
I have come across this site, I think it's the best for bird and kitten owners I learned so much from that...maybe it might help you guys if you change your mind about owning birds again Tayyaba
