Poles of light, by Yusuf

Poles of light on the masjid floor
Another world through an open door
Im alive and this is now my faith
For the first time
Maybe I can relate

Bowing down as I touch my knees
Thinking about who’s there to see
Deep inside I feel my soul on fire
To serve is my one desire

Close together in the front row
I remember how the foreign words would flow
Tune my ears into another tongue
How could people ever think its wrong

Daylight comes as I know I it would
On my knees praying like I knew
I would do anything of thats asked
If I thought this breath was to be my last

Islamic Poetry

Stand strong upon the mountain, by Yusuf

Stand strong upon the mountain
For truth is on your side
Though the ground appears to break
and the earth is opening wide

Stand strong upon the mountain
Our Deen is there to guide
Though the world appears to shake
Your very heart from deep inside

Stand strong upon the mountain
Those words so well revealed
Though the world will always doubt
Use that age old shield

Stand strong upon the mountain
That evil can’t abide
Though it wants to fight the truth
Allah’s on your side

Stand strong upon the mountain
Even death can’t reach you there
Though it tries to make you fear
Go forth without a care

other poetry for brother Yusuf also
O precious Koran, by Yusuf

O precious Koran, book divine
With keys for life, you are mine
Now I know from where i came
Save me from my mental pain

Comfort me in bad distress
With words of Allah’s tenderness
May you keep me in my faith
until death too I shall embrace

You are there to guide and guard
So I may receive that rich reward
Guide me safely always home
Keep me from the things unknown

Islamic Poetry

The war, by A Khan

who's right and who's wrong?
Who's the weak and who's the strong?
Exaggerating victory, hiding defeat. not an easy feat.
Shown through a distorted lens, does any of it really make sense?
History repeating itself again.
So much pain in vain for selfish gain.
Can there be a winner in this game?
Not those they sought to defame.
Bringing untold misery
based on a false notion of setting them "free".
what does the future hold?
what more horrors will this story unfold?
