Assalam alaikum Brothers and sisters,

InshAllah I hope you all are well. MPACUK is holding a Northern open day and invite you all to attend.

Venue: Friends Meeting House
6 Mount Street (behind the central library)
City Center
Manchester
M2 5NS

Date and Timings: Sunday 2nd September from 3-6pm

MPACUK are starting a new campaign. As you have probably heard Gordon Brown formally proposes extending the detention without trial period from 28 to 56 days. MPACUK inshAllah are planning to lobby against this and hope to collaborate with local Masjids in order to lobby MPs to vote against the motion.

This is an issue which will affect Muslims deeply and we cannot stress enough the importance for Muslims to take action against it. None of us would like our husbands, brothers, sisters or ourselves to be picked up by the police merely on grounds of suspicion, not be informed on what suspicion we have been taken, and detained for more than two months – whilst police is searching for evidence against the suspect. We urge everyone to please help us with this campaign.

Please reply to let us know if you are able to come. InshAllah we hope to see you there.

They will be having talks on current affairs and discussing ideas on how to go about this campaign. Its already been mentioned in the Muslim news and is likely to generate more publicity inshAllah.

There will also be discussion on islamic core values when taking on a campaign and how its an islamic duty of muslims to be active. It should prove to be quite interesting IA!:sunny:
