AsalamuALaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

Yusuf (James) Yee with Moazzam Begg
  • Chaplain Yusuf J. Yee was a US army chaplain ministering more than 600 Muslim detainees at Gunatanamo. In 2003, he was wrongfully arrested on charges of spying and failure to obey a general order. He was imprisoned in a navy brig for 76 days, held in solitary confinement and treated in the same manner as the pirsoners before all charges were dropped after a lengthy investigation. After this incident he retired from the Army with a honorable discharge.
  • Moazzam Beg was one of those classified as an "enemy combatant" by the United States. He was arrested by US forces in Pakistan on January 2002, and later transferred to Camp X ray in Guantanamo bay. After three horrific years he was released in January 2005 without charge, trial, apology or compensation.
