Conversion of Perfect (الماضي) into Imperfect (المضارع)
We shall learn to convert only trilateral words i.e. words which have perfect in three letters into
1. Third person singular (male/female)
2. Second person singular (male/female)
3. First person singular / plural
METHOD:
1. Place “dhamma” (ضمّه) on the last letter
2. Make first letter “saakin “ ( ساكن)
3. Add one of these four letters (Acronym = اتين =ا,ت,ي,ن )before first letter according to the person.i.e and these letters are always given “Fatha” (فتحه)
a. ا = For first person singular
b. ت = For third person singular/female and second person singular /male
c. ي =Third person singular /male
d. ن = First person plural
4. The vowelling of the middle letter depends upon on the use and only a dictionary can tell.

ذهب = He went (perfect)
أذهب = I go / shall go
يذهب = He goes/will go
تذهب = You (singular male) go / will go
تذهبين = You (female) go /will go
Note:(ين ) is added at the end of imperfect of second person feminine
نذهب = We go /shall go
