Bio of Sheikh shahrul Hussain

The course will be taught by Shaykh Sharul Hussain. The Shaykh initiated his studies within the UK and graduated from Darul Uloom Birmingham which is one of the oldest Islamic educational institutes within UK. The Shaykh then went to Egypt and graduated from the prestigious Al Azhar University. He specialised in Islamic Law and Jurisprudence. Furthermore the Shaykh has a sanad (an unbroken chain of permission) in the tafseer (commentary) of Sahih Al Bukhari (a renowned book of hadith).

Since the Shaykh’s return to the UK he has been greatly involved in teaching and dawah work. He has taught at the Al-Hijra Islamic School, served as Vice-Principal in Darul Uloom Birmingham, delivered lectures at various universities/conferences, taught at Umm Hani Institute as well as departing his extensive experience and knowledge to students on an individual basis.

The Shaykh is currently a senior advisor for Al Hikma Media and is serving as the Principal for the Islamic College of England (ICE). The Shaykh is renowned for his ability to engage his students, his “says it as it is” approach, openness to listen to peoples vies, the ability to provoke thought and discussions amongst his students. He instils the importance of not only being able to recall information but also the ability to apply this sacred knowledge. Shaykh Sharul Hussain has been a forerunner in his attempts to unite Muslims regardless of their differences and emphasises this value of unity amongst his students. Alhudmuallah, the Shaykh has a very humble outlook on life which makes him easily approachable and one of the few ullema that will get their “hands dirty” doing ground work in organising events and dawah. He currently resides with his wife and two children in Birmingham and is in the process of completing his PHd.

Salford Islamic Society in affiliation with the Islamic College of England (ICE) delivers a one day intensive study course on the compilation of Imam Nawais 40th Hadith.
