Wednesday (at least in Canada).

We are celebrating Eid-ul-Adha, which commemorates Prophet Abraham (alaihi salaam) perfect faith in Allah that he did not hesitate to sacrifice his own son for the sake of Allah. We Muslims must all strive to have the kind of faith and steadfastness of Abraham. This also shows there is no morality beyond what Allah commands. Something is only good if Allah says it is good.

I believe that most Muslims in USA (where I live) will pray and celebrate Eid al-Adha on Wednesday 12/19/07. I imagine there will be some who follow the local sighting of the moon and celebrate on 12/20/07. Insha'Allah I will fast tomorrow for the Day of Ashura and pray Eid in Indianapolis on Wednesday.

For those who did not make pilgrimage, did you or your family make an animal sacrifice for local distribution, or did you donate to a charity? I personally made a donation on behalf of my family to Islamic Relief for a sacrifice in another country where I consider there to be a greater need.
