What is Luck according to u ?

Why is that they say Good Luck..Best of Luck ..etc.. Do u encourage that?
Do u encourage the usage of those words ?
(I didnt mean that you shouldnot wish good things to happen for someone...>> Im asking u ..y cant u say.. may GOD give u good result,..etc....)

When thinking about LUCK ... Y cant people realise GOD instead....?

Im not sayin that u shouldnot wish good for others...

where does that Good Luck from ..who is making that surprisingly changes...?

Have u though about that.?

The main reason for starting this thread is... i find many Thiests ...
..using the words LUCK often..(not at all praisin GOD)...especially... during exam time..interviews time..results time... etc...

Instead of praising/thinking LUCK ... y are they not thinking about GOD...

The definition of a word is the best way to define it.

Luck: good fortune: success that seems to happen by chance


Why wouldn't I want someone to have "Good Luck"?

You can't "encourage" something that happens by change.

I see no connection to god.

True, luck comes from Allah Ta'aala. Maybe i say it with intention of Allah Ta'aala's blessings, lame excuse i know but i mostly say it to noneMuslims. Those that dont understand Islam/arn't religious.
Guess its just a habit pp have when wanting good to happen to a person.

I don't believe in luck.. I believe in hard work, I believe chance favors the well prepared mind, And I believe that some are bestowed with love and favor from their lord and thus the world smiles at them.. no luck involved in either
hard work and a good heart that loves God..

why are the 2 mutually exclusive?
i think luck is just what we call it when everything is going well and we're not sure why.
we say "good luck" when someone has to take a test.... what does it mean?
that we hope they will remember the stuff they have studied that they will be able to give the right answers. that there won't be any questions about the stuff they don't remember.. this doesn't preclude praying for god to help them.
"luck" to me, is a very vague concept.

Gee, you walk into a shop, get into discussion with the keeper, she mentions something she's wanting to do and you say goodluck, in order to show you mean well. I wont say may God help you or something like that, they'll take it as the the so called God they believe in, cant say Allah Ta'aala either as they wont know what i mean.

Personally, when I say the word "luck" I'm not referring to some force of fate, it is simply an expression I use to refer to a series of events or one event that seems to go my way. Whether that event came about as the Will of God or some random act of chance, it is simply a way of referring to a fortunate event.
