Why do we have sects???

What do you think is the reason we have sects:-
Options:-
1)Blindly following imams & scholars as if they were prophets.
2)Result of Conspiracies of non-muslims.
3)Other.

This could turn into a major debate between sects, I don't think this was a good idea...
Nevertheless, it's most definatly number 1.
