Ha, this forum was supposed to be within Islamic boundries. We can see that's far from the case. Now you want a blog?

Assalamu alaikum

I have a blog. I use it to keep my family and friends round the world updated with my life. Nothing is wrong with blogs if they aren't set up for useless reasons.

I'v read many magnificent blogs concerned only with the Islamic perspective of things, Masha'Allah!

Ma'assalama

for nafy, a blog is something abit like a diary, you fill it in everyday, understood sister?

I'm not against blogs or anything, I have one myself!

I was trying to raise the point that this forum is a blog itself. People create topics, people reply and contribute. Just like on blogs. What would be the need of having a blog?

If your on about individual member blogs, I wouldn't be too sure. The amount of topics on this board are random and in a way, not Islamic and with blogs, I think that level would increase. Expect to see a lot of random chit-chat on these blogs.

Maybe, if these blogs can only be available to certain members who are known to create topics which aren't very random and normally rubbish. Members like me for example.

I'd be interested to know now, which member here is interested in starting a blog of their own?

A blog is a weblog. An online diary, journal. You don't have to post everyday, or even every week. I only post when I have something good and interesting to share. Not every day about what time I went to the loo.

Dear brother in Humanity, you must not raise your status to others, as allah says always be very humble, i dont think it was right of what you said there as no1 is better than another. But if you have a better reputation then you should let members vote you not vote yourself in as that would be unfair.please do not take this in a bad manner.

And could you not just create these topics in the General forum? You could add your opinion on the end of each post and as you'd expect on a blog, people will comment and respond.

True. But a "blog" makes it more kinda official. just a thought. Like for example it should be given to members who have more then 300 posts etc. and maybe posting there doesnt affect your post count etc or ppl wud be posting there all the time.

More official? How about signing up with Blogger.com and having a more of an "official" blog?

That would mean less hassle for the Admin and Moderators team.

Members could make their blogs elsewhere and link to them on this forum. We already have a thread in the exchange links forum about members' blogs, hence that is an alternative idea. I think that blogs promoting Islamic experiences, perspectives and any beneficial information, including displaying creative works like poetry/stories/ etc. would make very interesting reads Insha'Allaah.

The term blog has also been discussed in this thread.
