I apologize if someone posted this before....

Assalamu Alaikum:

He was there for a wedding and to meet his daughter. Famed Muslim
filmmaker, director and producer Mustapha Al-Akkad probably never
expected that he and his daughter would die in Jordan.

With his death last week, Muslims have lost an incredibly talented
and dedicated pioneer who sought to share his Islamic heritage
through film. This was a daunting task at a time when some Muslims
believed films were forbidden and vehemently opposed his movie The
Message. It was also a time when, like today, Muslims are still the
villains in the majority of Hollywood movies.

Death can come to any of us at any time, whether we are in a luxury
hotel in Jordan or sitting in front of our computer screens at home.
We do not know when, where and how we will die. But we know without
a doubt that we will die.

This week we remember death, as well as Mustapha Al-Akkad. May Allah
have mercy on him and his daughter, and may He rid our community of
the cancer of extremism that destroyed this talented filmmaker who
loved Islam.

Peace
Abdul Malik Mujahid
