salaam all.. heres a 'poem' i wrote, i think it needs imprvement, let me know what you think...

It saddens me,
When I see brothers and sisters being gangster wannabe’s

Not praying like they should,
Hanging on street corners in the hood,

Fighting over gang turf,
Like something outta the smurfs,

Hanging out like thugz,
Drinking alcohol and taking drugs,

Tryna be like 50 cents,
But on the last day he aint gonna be worth 50 pence,

Even when its Ramadan,
They don’t give two about islam,

They’d rather live there twisted ideologies,
But on the last day there won’t be time for apologies,

They tryna be the next best thing,
But listen carefully to my linguistic sting,

Islam aint just for Fridays,
If you think that prepare to be set ablaze,

So keep hold of your imaan,
And follow the Islamic clan,

The reward in the hereafter is gonna be greater,
So keep Islamic, coz we all gonna die sooner or later,

Don’t kid yourself into thinking your still young,
Indeed this is the shaytaans tongue,

Take heed of the quran and sunnah,
And islam will take you to jannah,

Now sadly I must end,
But, contemplate the words I spoke my friend,

Islam aint just for Fridays,
If you think that prepare to be set ablaze,
How about:

Islam aint just for Fridays,
Its for your whole life, always

So keep hold of your imaan,
And follow the Islamic clan,
This may not rhyme depending on how you pronounce "imaan". You could probably put something else. Just a suggestion.

Overall its very good. You got good rhymes bro.

Greetings and peace be with you Mr. Baldy;

Sometimes society fails our youth, and society should be judges by how it supports those who are most troubled. Maybe there are reasons why youngsters turn to gang culture. What are the possible solutions, and can I ask you which country you are talking about

In the spirit of praying for peace,

Eric

Eric
i wrote that poem back when i was still a child, now that i've grown up some i understand deeper. the fact is, society will always fail our youth, whether that youth is from a broken family in the slums of cold city or a kid with a well of family, who has everything that they ever desired. the values the youth have today are corrupt and full of societies godlessness.

looking back at the poem, i would change some of the words, i now refer to myself as a 'thug', because that is what society has classified me. thats not to say i go around committing crime, and smoking drugs and drinking alcohol. astugfirullah. the fact it though, these are the types of people that relate to me. the youth turn to gang culture and become gangsters because for some of them thats the only option they have to survive is to become 'gangsters'. again, this is not to say they commit crimes et cetra, but this is the way society views them. then there are some that just think that its cool. rappers like 50 cent, jay z, kanye west et cetra glorify this type of life. unfortunatley these are the mainstream rappers that influence society, and as i mentioned before the youth take their ideas and values from society. then there are some people who are just idiots and think their gangster.

im not talking about any country in particular, people have problems all over the world.

the fact is Eric, as long as there is poverty and unfair, unjust man made laws, there will be people who have to hustle, struggle, and be rough to survive because thats the only way they know. the only solution is to return to gods law, a complete ideology that is fair and just to all people. quite simply that system is Islam.

ill leave you with a few words

'problems just seem to follow me, around like im the father of drama, and its all apart of me, its clogging my arteries, living this hard life, its in my blood, so im pissing out hard times, whens it my time to shine, i've been humble for years, lord will you send some blessing down here, coz we could use some helping down here, its hard to get some rest down here, we've seen alot of death down here, how long will we be left down here?'

i hope that answers your questions.

Yep, I agree. There's much better hip-hop out there than that. It's so sad that so many young people think gangsta rap is the only thing worth listening to.

Peace
