In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. We all bear witness there is no other deity worthy of worship but HIM, Lord and sustainer of the heavens and Earth. When He wishes a matter to be done, he says Be and it is. Whoever Allah guides can never be misguided and whoever is misguided there can be no other to guide him except Allah the Most Just.

In this short article we will discuss about Allah's mercy. I will post some hadith Qudsi and parting comments insha'Allah.

Let us begin by some of the names of Allah. One of HIS name is Ar-Rahman (The Compassionate) and Ar-Rahim (The All-Merciful). Every sin is forgiven as long as the Servant of Allah seeks forgiveness before the Rising of The Sun to the West, or before his/her last breath.

Below is a hadith to think about:

A man killed 99 people and asked a monk "will Allah forgive me?". He answered no so he killed the monk. This man went to another monk and asked him, "will Allah forgive me?" and he told him to go to a man to seek forgiveness. On his way to this man, he died. The Angels of Punishment and The Angels of Mercy came to take his soul. The Angels asked Allah which one of us shall take his soul? Allah told them to measure the distance he travelled. If the distance he walked was longer than the distance left to his destination, then the Angels of Mercy will take his soul, but if not, then the Angels of Punishment would take it. Because of Allah's Mercy, Allah extended the road that he travelled. When the Angels measured the distance, the Angels of Mercy took his soul and he was admitted to Paradise.

This was one of many, many true stories from Authentic Hadith.

As long as you seek forgiveness from your heart, then Allah will surely forgive you, as Allah forgave that man who took the life of 100 people.

Allah says in Hadith Qudsi:

"Oh Son of Adam, even if you come to me with sins as much as the oceans and you seek my Forgiveness, I shall forgive you and what bad you have done, I do not care. Oh Son of Adam, even if you have sins that pile up to the sky and you come running to me not associating anything with me, I shall forgive you, and what badness you have done, I do not care".

Allh says in Hadith Qudsi again:

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (PBUH), from among the things he reports from his Lord (mighty and sublime be He), is that he said:

A servant [of Allah's] committed a sin and said: O Allah, forgive me my sin. And He (glorified and exalted be He) said: My servant has committed a sin and has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for them. Then he sinned again and said: O Lord, forgive me my sin. And He (glorified and exalted be He) said: My servant has committed a sin and has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for them. Then he sinned again and said: O Lord, forgive me my sin. And He (glorified and exalted be He) said: My servant has committed a sin and has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for sins. Do what you wish, for I have forgiven you.

It was related by Muslim (also by al-Bukhari).

My notes: never despair your Lords mercy. Allah loves his creation and it is we who wrong ourselves and fall into sin and darkness. But Allah will accept your forgiveness till you die and/or till the sun rises from the west. Brothers and Sisters never ever despair Allahs mercy. Subhan'Allah he loves it when we call upon him. There is authentic hadith that states if the creation (i.e. we humans) were perfect and didnt call up their rabb (lord) then he would replace them with an imperfect creation that did.

dear brothers & sisters in Islam, this article was composed by me however the link, the question & answer are from islamqa.com and are not mine :) I leave you in the best state of Iman and health and plz include me in your duas.

“Say: O ‘Ibaadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allaah, verily, Allaah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful”
[al-Zumar 39:53]

And upon Ibraheem's astonishement of having a child at an old age:

He said: Do you give me good news (of a son) when old age has come upon me?-- Of what then do you give me good news!

They said: We give you good news with truth, therefore be not of the despairing.

He said: And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord but the erring ones? [Surah Hijr Ayah 54-56]

A great lesson for all of us, JazzakAllah Khair brother Hasib!
