The second time, I am sure Sheikh Shuraim and Sheikh Sudais led.. mixed. I am not sure if any other imam led because I only knew Sheikh Sudais then and I just remember Sheikh Shuraim leading. :confused:
Third time alhamdulillah I remember all of it. :wub: Yep, you are right, it was summer 2005. My last few days in Makkah, Sheikh Salih al Talib stopped leading all 5, he went from like 4,3,2 then none lol. Sheikh Sudais started leading all 5 for like a day or 2, I don't remember then he started leading 4 when Sheikh Subayyal lead isha. :)
Oh yeah, and Sheikh Khayyat gave the khutbah. :p

This time round, I never got to pray behing Sheikh Shuraim or Sheikh Salih bin Humaid. :)

In Madinah, I think I got to pray behind all but Sheikh Hudhayfi, alhamdulillah. Sheikh Hussain ale Sheikh gave the khutbah then and it was about King Fahd because he had passed away.

Haha, the first time I went, I was only 21 days old. :confused:

When I went in summer 2005, I had just completed my umrah and the adhan for maghrib went.. (it was the most beautiful adhan by my favourite mu'adhin masha'Allah :wub: Will never forget it!) . Obviously, seeing that it was maghrib, the prayer was going to start very shortly so we decided to find a place close by (where all the ladies were) and we did; right behind where the imam stands to lead the prayer infront the of the ka'aba door near safa and marwa but we were on a higher level so i could see everything, including Sheikh Salih al Talib coming towards the leading spot whilst the iqaamah was going off! :p

SST came and just like friday he gave a khutab it was not crowded so i was almost in front of him.People told me he is praying for rain (Salatul Istisqa, prayer for rain)he was emotional ( thats the only time i have seen him emtional) but at the time of dua SST was reading dua from a paper, maybe he has some special dua for rain ALlah knows better.Or maybe he is not As good As SAS in dua or like SS.

Firstly, all the imams read off a paper when giving the khutbah. :p

Secondly maghrib adhan has just finished. lol

Thirdly, Sheikh Salih al Talib has been emotional in 3 khutbahs for definate.. because I have heard him! :p

Fourthly, Sheikh Salih al Talib also makes the du'a reading off the paper as well as putting his paper away and making it from the top of his head. :)

I don't think it was offending though ... insha'Allah.

Saud Al-Shuraim
Sheikh Shuraim is one of the Imam of the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haraam) in Makkah. Shaikh Sa'ud bin Ibrahim bin Muhammad Aal-Shuraim from the Haraqees of the Banu Zayd was born in Riyadh in the year 1965.

He studied elementary at Areen schools, then the middle school at the Modern schools then high school at Al Yarmouk North. He graduated from his high school in 1983. Then went to college of `Usool ud Din` at Imam Muhammad ibn Sa'ud University in Riyadh, in the "Aqeedah and Modern Madhahib" division, from where he graduated in 1988. Then he went on in 1989 to the "Ma'had Al-'aali Lilqadhah" institute and received a Masters degree in 1992.

Shaikh Sa'ud received knowledge directly from many pious Shuyookh such as Shaikh Abdul Aziz bin Baz and Shaikh Abdullah Al-Jibrien... and many others.

Shaikh Shuraim was employed as a teacher in "Ma'had Al-'aali Lilqadhah" in 1410 AH. In 1991, he was made Imam and Khateeb of Masjid ul Haraam by the order of Custodian of the Two Holy Harams, King Fahad bin AbdulAzeez Aal-Saud. In 1992, by Royal order, he was appointed judge in the High court of Makkah Mukarramah. In 1993, the High approval was made for him to teach in the Holy Masjid. In 1995, he pursued the Doctorate degree in the Umm Al-Qura University of Makkah.

He remains one of the Imams and Khateebs of Masjid ul Haraam.

I went to Jame Masjid in Leicester today where there was a programme by Sheikh Saad Al Numani. Mashallah he has been blessed as his recitations were beautiful. He did imitations of most of the imams of Makkah and Medina. His imitation of SAS when he led Maghrib salaat was exceptional.
