Whatever ya'll... Thats simply not cool, considering the British accent is soooooo :-\ . *shakes her head* Unless we're talking about the Texan and all Southern accents here, in that case, keep dissing. :p

But yeah, Sheikh Thubayty does speak English goood. *nods* And Sheikh Shuraim too as far as I know. Not gooood good, but good.

2 takbirs? You mean when the mu'adhin repeats after the imam except for when the imam says sami'Allahu li man hamidah, and the mu'adhin says rabbana walak alhamd?

I guess its so everyone in the huuuuuge masjid, masha'Allah, can hear. :X ?

sheikh bin humaid going to indonesia tomorrow. lol

as for large speakers, well dunno but maybe its because its a large masjid and general ruling for that is that the people behind would say takbirloud in this case and other cases before mikes were invented. umm does that even make sense? :-[

I missed isha and Ima miss it all week! :'(

You know honestly, I prefer sending all these recordings and pics or whatever over MSN Messenger.. so yea mamsoo.. you'll get what you want easy peasy insha'Allah. :)

Regarding the tune, omg .. current tune is amaaaaaaazing masha'Allah ESPECIALLY when you hear it LIIIIIIIVE .. :coolious: I swear, just the other day I was thinking that this tune is so awesome live, wonder what it was like during ramadhan in taraweeh!! insha'Allah one day... :) Also, taraweeh tune is for taraweeh cos it was umm fast .. and stuff. Sheikh Shuraim doesn't do his taraweeh tune either and neither does Sheikh Sudais.

In addition to that ^^^^^ You know for example when Sheikh Salih al Talib does this 'thing' lol .. (doesn't help I know.. :p ) .. well I think it was the last few ayaat in Surah al Baqarah that he did it in..the first raka'ah ... when he said 'qadeer' .. when he does it like that.. it sounds just too good for words masha'Allah and even better LIVE... man he did it so often when I was there ^_^ ..

I dont think Shaykh Shuraim visiting UK but I did hear Shaykh Sudais might be - the problem is that he has been getting some bad press in the UK especially that stupid Panorama programme where they tried to "expose him"! So it is becoming increasingly difficult - but if allah wills he will come.

But I will be visiting Shaykh Shuraim inshallah so will ask him about if he has any plans to visit UK.

Sheikh Saleh al-Taleb...Mashallah his face is full of Noor. I remember him smiling as he walked in by the K'abah on December 30th 2005 to lead the Fajr Salaah...he came in toward the K'abah and shook hands and did that little arab cheek kiss thingy with this another imam standing behind him. Mashallah and his thobe was way above the ankels!:awesome: and held it with his one hand and was swung it in walking straight smiling to his backup buddy.

Mashallah..i was just trying to say that the imams really need to fix their tajweed..whether mr. zak or anybody else likes it or not. Qur'an is not a joke...you cant just recite the book of ALLAH the way you feel like. and i am sure many imams ............and then people try to imitate them..ending up reciting the Qur'an wrong...so just to let everybody know..it is not cool to imitate the big sheiks who cant pronounce the letters right.

brother cool_jannah....there are different ways of reciting the Qur'aan...if you think the Sheikhs (may Allah reward them for there beautiful recitations) are wrong (absolutely nt i believe) you had better tell them...no need to point out such things here :)

assalamu alaikum!

ooooooooooooh ! NOooooooooooooo
i guess ..... everytime i ask for pics....u end up formatting ur disk.
innit ?
You're bad luck wAK. :p (joke :p )

Well wAK.. get the hint now. :( you can't have em. You keep messing ma laptop up.

Hey! cool_jannah! - Obviously, reciting the Qur'an in a wrong manner is not allowed and therefore probably a sin ... if you beleive someone is reciting the Qur'an not right then don't go around gossiping.. that is also considered as back biting and I am sure you know the consequences of back biting. (If you don't tell me, I'll show you).

If we see or hear about someone else committing a sin, we should always try to ignore it. Instead of spreading it, we should hide it and keep it a secret. It is reported that the Prophet (SAW) has said:

Whosoever covers (the sins of) a Muslim, Allah covers (his sins) on the Day of Judgment. (Reported by Bukhari)

If we find it too difficult to keep it secret, the most we are allowed to do is discuss the issue with the person, in private, . Allah says in the Qur'an:

The believers, men and women, are Auliyâ' (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another, they enjoin Al-Ma'rûf (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islâm orders one to do), and they forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. polytheism and disbelief of all kinds, and all that Islâm has forbidden). (Quran, 71:9)

to add to what Arwa has said...
you should release your own CDs so people can hear proper tajweed. if a person who tries to imitate the imams, pray wrong then its not the imams fault. how do you know they pronounce it wrong? i would say gimme one example and the correct thing they should have said but A-youll read in next post and B- i dont want to give you the trouble of having to find a Tajweed mistake, which im sure you know, everyone makes mistakes......which could have been a one off. which would mean if you want to be sure its something that is a consistant error then get the same *mistake* in 10 different recordings and compare. then go give it to whichever imam .

and i wanna know who led fajr too.
and.................

Non Arab too. - Hafiz of the Different Qirat and Hafiz of Tafsir, he has isnad going back to the Prophet (SAW) teaches in Masjid Nabawi and Madinah university. - Although he never mentioned names, he had a lot of respect for Shaykh Huzayfee, His recitation and knowledge of Quran is also very good, plus Shaykh Huzayfee has Isnaad too.

He advised students not to copy them in recitation. That most of the Imams were just Imams and not notbale scholars of Kibar Ulema height. That they needed to be given their status. Not elevated and same time not put down.

I know the shaykh you are talking about. he taught me qur'an as well as sheikh hudhaify. It is different for him to joke about the imams and point out their mistakes as he is on the same 'level' as them as a scholar. We are nobody to go around speaking of the imams' mistakes. Instead we should take a long hard look at ourselves. A student is free to decide who he/she wants to copy or imitate in recitation. Anyway, this is off-topic

:sl:

I beg to differ. He is as strong and firm as ever, masha-Allah!

From the little knowledge of arabic I possess, the great shaykh was referring to the (shameful) violent protests carried out by Muslims the world over and refuted them in his first khutbah. In the second one, he refuted Valentine's day (and Mother's day and the like) as being totally unislamic; Muslims show love and affection to their wives and mothers throughout the year, alHamdulillah!

Really? He led in ramadan, but i think he's comfortable in madinah with his mansion and wives. Sheikh Juhany needs the move, he's always changing between the prophet's masjid and masjidul-quba. The thing with Sheikh Juhany is he is so tense when he recites. He's not like the others who relax a lot more. maybe its because it was his first taraweeh in makkah

After Sheikh Salih bin Humaid led the actually salaah, he turned towards the people in congregation (as sunnah) and he did dua in the mic. :) He also prayed for bakistan and it's progress. :p

Masha'Allah on yer reversion. :)

Well, Sheikh Salih al Talib is one of the 5 imams at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. He's new.
The other imams have been imams for many years now masha'Allah.
Yes, he does lead prayers based on a rota given by the Haram Committee. :)
He led taraweeh once in 2003 for the last 10 days. :)

Tarawih (Arabic: تراويح) prayers are extra prayers given at night in the Islamic month of Ramadan. Tarawih prayers consist of either 8 or 20 raka'ahs, depending one which madhhab one follows. It is normal to attempt to recite the whole of the Qur'an during Ramadan. This is done by reciting one juz each night or in each tarawih by dividing the juz into several verses recited in one raka'ah.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taraweeh

An imam is a person who leads communal prayers and/or delivers the sermon on Fridays and Eid prayers.

Hope that helps. :)

There are 5 imams for the Grand Mosque in Makkah - Masjid al Haram

I think 5 in Madinah too in Masjid an Nabawi - The Prophet peace be upon hims Mosque.

Yes, they lead prayers whenever they are allocated to on their rota that they are given by the Mosque's committee..

Yes, we have imams in England too. :) Every Mosque has an imam.

I also think Sheikh Salih al Talib

Sheikh Sudais gave khutbah 2 weeks ago.
Sheikh Shuraim 1 week ago.
Sheikh Kayyat and Sheikh Humaid gave it before the 2 and Sheikh Salih al Talib I think. :?

Now it's Sheikh Salih al Talib's turn innit? insha'Allah. :)

What calculations do you use mst? :giggling:
