I love the wheeled minbar they use for the khutbah, has anyone seen the way it's driven to the appointed place. It's cool mashaAllah. (or is it motorised).

Innaa lillaahi wa innaa ilayhi raaji'oon! I missed al-Jumu'ah at Masjid al-Haraam... (like last week) just too busy at work!

I love listening to the shuyookh crying; it brings tears to my eyes. In this day and age of hardened, dunyaa-loving hearts we need these pious people to bring us back to reality, masha-Allah!

The links on LiveIslam aren't up yet for this week's, but here's the link so you can keep checking: LiveIslam khutub.

I've heard him kinda breaking down before but not crying. In recent times, we've heard the likes of ash-Shaykh Saalih bin Humayd and ash-Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin al-Qaasim crying (or breaking down), and now ash-Shaykh Saalih bin Muhammad aala-Taalib! Masha-Allah.

Still waiting for LiveIslam to post the Masjid al-Haraam khutbah. They've put all the others on, including Masjid an-Nabawi's! I think it's due to appear here but don't know why they're not (or can't) put it on yet! Fa sabrun jameel...

nooo it wasn't the prayer.. it started off when he said 'mi'a wa sab3oon masaajid tu7arrik' .. 170 masaajid have been burnt...in Iraq..
He continued on to say that it can't be the work of Muslims it has to be the enemies of Islam ... He also said something like today we are here for prayers but people in Iraq can't even go and what worse can it be than someone stopping another from praying? ..

Inshallah you are all well!!! wAkky you have cursed me - SS can't make it today AH got a call from one of his people. But..............the GOOD NEWS subhanallah is that to make it up to us next he said that the next time he is in Jeddah he will visit us at my house!!!!!!!!! Allah hu Akbar - there is always hikmah in these things!!!

Allhumdolillah I was with SST today just before jumma finalising his visit to Jeddah for a conference we are putting together for the youth (it is now going to be an annual event inshallah).

Some news for the UK SST fans - I have asked him to come to the UK INSHALLAH and he said that he will think about it - (I personally dont think he is interested in coming to the "West") he was telling how angry he was about the way the media treated Shaykh Sudais!!

Ah well better make a move going back to Jeddah after Asr - back at work tomorrow :grumbling

Inshallah I will record his bit

How did the media treat Sheikh Sudais?
Well mainly the Panaroma programme (which I have mentioned already) - they said that he was saying jews are monkeys (in a khutba in Makkah) etc and then when he comes to UK they said he tried to promote inter faith relations - they were trying to make him out to be a hypocrite. There was a programme shown and they interviewed various ppl and the guy was saying SAS said this do you agree - didnt watch the programme but heard alot about it!!!

May allah protect him from the fitnah of the kuffar!!

Wow.. you finally decided to go to work??

I've heard from friends who've been to see ash-Shaykh ash-Shuraym that he hates being photographed or recorded (visually) in his presence. He wasn't too happy with a guy who was sitting in front of him with a video phone recording him!

And to hide the (video) camera would be deceit (although I think it was suggested in jest).

For some reason, that's the only one LiveIslam haven't been able to put up. I've been checking all day. I've also checked the other sites (slower ones) but they only have last week's as the most update!

Anyway, it's nearly 'Asr (=home)time... here comes yet another weekend! Life's passing away without us even realising. I hope everyone here prays their 5 times daily salawaat!

I've been following this thread closely and have not come across any audio version of today's khutbah in Masjid al-Haraam, Makkah! I put the link up for salaat al-Istisqaa' and for where the audio file should have appeared, but there's no sign of it...

Though the website says it's Hussain al Shaikh on the right, they got it wrong, he's on the left.

Makkah Imam Urges Iraqis to Cool Their Guns
Arab News

JEDDAH, 25 February 2006 — Sheikh Saleh Al-Taleb, the imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, yesterday condemned the attacks on mosques in Iraq and warned against flaring up inter-Muslim violence in the country.

“It is not in the interest of Iraqis to rush to blame people, or take revenge,” Al-Taleb said in his Friday sermon which was televised around the world.

Iraq has seen reprisal attacks and around 200 deaths after the bombing of a major religious site in Samarra on Wednesday raising fears of a civil war in the country.

Al-Taleb condemned the Samarra bombing and the revenge attacks that followed saying, “These are conflicts whose fire is lit by criminals.”

“How can an attack on the graves of believers be avenged with attacks on the houses of God? How can a violation of tombs of the Prophet’s descendents be met with burning the Book of God, killing Muslims and preventing prayers?” he told hundreds of thousands worshippers gathered in the huge mosque complex.

The imam said the attacks will serve only to provoking an all-out civil war in the country and the rush for retaliation is not to the benefit of an already weak Iraq.

He pointed out that the perpetrators of the attacks are not known and therefore counterattacks against gravesites and mosques serve no other purpose than making innocents suffer.

Al-Taleb said that Iraqis at this critical stage should exhibit restraint to bring forward the interests of the public. He urged the Iraqi people to stay away from anything that would weaken their country.

“Your brother Muslims around the world are urging you to put down your weapons and settle this matter peacefully,” said Al-Taleb.

Wednesday’s bombing, which destroyed the famous dome of the 1,000-year-old mausoleum where two ninth century Shiite imams were buried, prompted global condemnation and appeals for calm.

Tens of thousands of Bahrainis took to the streets of Manama yesterday denouncing the bombing and the violent clashes that ensued. Shiite leader Isa Qassem, who led the demonstrations, called for unity between Sunnis and Shiites in Iraq, warning that any deterioration in relations could impact outside Iraq.

In Kuwait City, thousands rallied for the second day running yesterday calling for Muslim unity. “No to extremism and terrorism, yes to Islamic unity,” read one placard.

Speakers also warned of a conspiracy to incite a sectarian rift among Muslims in order to make them forget Jerusalem and their occupied lands.

http://www.arabnews.com/?page=1&sect...tegory=Kingdom

aha.. this is where he said 'ya ahl al Iraq..' “Your brother Muslims around the world are urging you to put down your weapons and settle this matter peacefully,” said Al-Taleb.

3 years ago, in Masjid al Haraam, I can't remember what prayer it was after but afer it, me and my sister were going somewhere in the Haram and he walked right past us!! Man, he had a huuuuge smile on his face and was talking while on his way to anyone who said something.. also, he was walking and someone said something from the back and still having that smile on his face, he turned back and replied.. it was quiet a distant too you know.. I'd say about 4-6 metres. :) Oh yeah! and he was like joking about with this man too.. masha'Allah

It's all about the Imaams who lead the prayers at al-Haramayn (the two Haraams in Makkah and al-Madinah). It also includes commentary (at appropriate times) of salawaat (plural of salaah) and who's leading them. (And, of course, there's more than this... but that's for the viewer to discover for himself).

ash-Shaykh Usaamah al-Khayyaat to lead salaat al-Jumu'ah (and the khutbatayn) in Masjid al-Haraam, Makkah.

The famous ash-Shaykh 'Ali Mullaa gave the first aZaan.

ash-Shaykh Ahmad 'Ali Shaakir gave the second one.

ash-Shaykh al-Khayyaat is talking about the Hurmah/illegality of killing Muslims (and the zhimmies), referring to the recent bombing( attempt)s in Saudi Arabia... and the permissibility of killing these perpetrators so as to prevent fasaad (all from sound aHaadeeth).

ash-Shaykh 'Ali Mullaa giving the iQaamah now (beautiful, masha-Allah)... ash-Shaykh al-Khayyaat with his trademark soorah al-FaatiHah and... reciting from the last three aayaat (2 in 1st rak'ah and the last one in the 2nd) of soorah al-Baqarah!

I dont wanna seem all picky, please forgive me if i do but with the quran its really important to type it up properly if one intends to type it up. And the "s" and "th" cant be brushed aside with how certain people pronounce it, simple word changes can change the meaning, take the word Kalb and Qalb one means Dog other means Heart yet you only changed one letter, and at the end of the day its Allahs words we are dealing with. :brother:

The shops in makkah/madinah really hike up prices during ramadhan and hajj, thats when they make most of their money, so in that sense, $1990 is not a lot of money.

If you have the file, then upload it somewhere like www.yousendit.com or mega upload and post the link they give you at the end here. Everyone can download it Inshallah. If it is an online link, and is saved in your real player favorites you can right click that, properties, and copy and paste the link here Inshallah. Hope that helped.
