I think if I ever commit to being a Muslim I'll call myself Bilal. As a white English guy I really appreciate how Mohammad saw that the measure of a man was neither nationality nor social status nor race, but piety.

You do not have to be good at singing....i know alot of people who can not sing to save their own lives and they'll say that but have an incredible voice when it comes to recitating Quran. So don't let that put you off. When you learn the rules for tajweed (meaning to improve, make better) then you automatically end up having a good voice.

The only problem I would have with Azba in the Uk is, that there is a thing here called ASBO, (Anti-social behaviour order im guessing) which is what bad kids get and the police basically makes them go home early and so on. If I gave my kid that name I know school would be hard for him.

Oh, ha. Yes there is. But hey, the Azba I know is a bad child anyway.
Perfect.

hmm... thats a very tough question...
I prefer names which have meaning.. It's hard to say because if you actually think about it, in this world a name is a name and nothing else.. people just need names so if they see walking on the street they don't need to run up to you rather they can just call you something from where you're standing. So if i'm down the block.. some dude will b calling "smiling" in arabic bc my name means smiling... so he/she will b like SMILING SMILING SMILING.. OVER HERRE!!... ehh.. and i can go on forever :) hehe..

I like Lulwah which is my niece's name
and lila which is my other niece's name
and 3omar which is my nephew's name and because I had the honor to hammer and whisper in everyone's ears what I wanted their names to be lol
but I also like outlandish names which I probably, wouldn't name anyone?!--- but I suppose if one doesn't opt for an epidural any of those can be very good?
like
Sama (sky)
matar (rain)
duha (dawn)
Sireen (the wife of hasan ibn thabit)
tuwa ( after the holy vale where Allah asked prophet Moses to take off his shoes -- it is in sinai Egypt!
for boys I always loved the name
Sakhr (stone) but I can see how the resonance can be lost in the translation
and my absolute favorite name of all even above the name Ahmed is the name Mohammed.. If I ever have a son (Allah a3lam) I'd probably name him Mohammed..

I adore the traditional classical Arabic names,
Boy's names - Yusuf, Isa, Musa, Abdullah, Adil, Ridwan, Hamza, Tahir (so many, but Yusuf is my favourite!)
Girl's names - Zaynab, Fatima, Maryam, Seher, Kainaat, Habibah, Inayah, (and so many more)
Muslim names are beautiful, especially because of the wonderful people they are connected to or their rich meanings,

Oh yes, and Hanaan, Aishah, Hafsa, Ahlam, Suleiman, Khalid, Idrees, Muminah and Maymunah. :) Ma'sha'Allah - love these names.
