I noticed that when i say "a'oudou billah mina chaytan rajim" i yawn after saying it. The problem is that when i looked into forums i found that you have to say "a'oudou billah mina chaytan rajim" after you yawn. I guess i explained my situation and would like an explation for this.
Re: Question about "a'oudou billah mina chaytan rajim"
The particluar Hadiths are
Bukhari: Book 4: Volume 54: Hadith 509
“Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Yawning is from Satan and if anyone of you yawns,-he should check his yawning as much as possible, for if anyone of you (during the act of yawning) should say: 'Ha', Satan will laugh at him."
Muslim: Book 42: Hadith 7130-
“The son of Abu Said al-Khudri reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said:-When one of you yawns, he should keep his mouth shut with the help of his hand, for it is the devil that enters therein.”
Re: Question about "a'oudou billah mina chaytan rajim"
İ think forcing the mouth shut during yawning is not what is meant here. İn the mentioned hadeeth you can clearly read "to keep the mouth shut with your hand.
Yawning is a sign of inactivity of the brain. You have too little action going on...so the brain sends a signal to boost the amount of oxygen to the brain.
This usually is a signal that you are wasting your time by being inefficient...we muslims know that our time here on Earth is limited...so we should avoid the situations of wasting our time with doing nothing andtherefore yawning...if you are tired...then you should sleep instead of laying around on the couch and being lazy...maybe that is the reason our prophet sas never yawned.
Re: Question about "a'oudou billah mina chaytan rajim"
Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudree (رضي الله عنه) reported that the Messenger of Allah (صلّى الله عليه وآله وسلّم) said,
إذا تثاءب أحدكم فليمسك بيده على فيه. فإن الشيطان يدخل
“When one of you yawns, then let him hold his hand over his mouth, for indeed, the Shaitaan [otherwise] enters.”
Ahmad related the Hadeeth thus: “When one of you yawns during prayer, then let him place his hands over his mouth, for verily, the Shaitaan enters with a yawn.”
[Related by Muslim(2995), Ahmad (10930), Abu Daawood (5026), and Ad-Daarimee (1382)]
Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
Whether a person yawns during prayer or otherwise, it is mustahabb to place the hand over the mouth, and it is makrooh for a person to place his hand over his mouth when praying, unless there is a need to do so, such as yawning etc. end quote.
Re: Question about "a'oudou billah mina chaytan rajim"
I guess i wasn't clear. I mean since the first reply i avoided yawning as much as possible. And if i can't hold it i tried to yawn from my nose. My question is therefore : Is it ok if i yawned from my nose ?

No. You yawn and cover your mouth if you cannot resist. So simple.
Re: Question about "a'oudou billah mina chaytan rajim"
Important to avoid being rude also especially by avoiding yawning loudly during a talk or khutbah - this is a distraction method which the shaytuaan can use to attempt to overwhelm the khaatib with negative vibes, and also to change the mood/mode of the yawner.

Exactly...why would you force yourself to adopt such a weird habit? İf you want to prevent yawning as much as possible...then avoid doing nothing and plan your life more efficient instead of trying to force yourself to yawn through your nose.
