    Writing Prompts

    Report bad ads?

On some writing sites, there are writing promts that you can use to write a story. I was wondering if anyone would like to do these?

We could post a writing promt. Each member would use that to write a portion of a story and other members can add to existing storyline until the story ends. Then someone can post a new writing promt.

    Anyone interested?

    here's the first:

I saw these on other forums but they were unislamic forums and stories just get to revolving around the couple doing a lot of stuff.

    Writing Prompts

If Allah helps you, none can overcome you; and if He forsakes you, who is there after Him that can help you? And in Allah (Alone) let believers put their trust.
    Surah Ale Imran : 160

It was narrated that Anas ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:
The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) climbed up Uhud, accompanied by Abu Bakr, ‘Umar and ‘Uthmaan, and the mountain shook with them. He struck it with his foot and said: “Stand firm, O Uhud, for there is no one on you but a Prophet or a Siddeeq or two martyrs.”
    Narrated by al-Bukhaari (3483)

Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Taala) does not inspire seeking forgiveness in a slave whom he wishes to punish.

you feel someone's presence in your living room. For a while you stand stil. You are thinking if your feeling is right or wrong. You wonder you were out of the room for only three minutes.
You are now sure that some thing has gone wrong and you are ready to deal with it.

    Re: Writing Prompts

You hear your heart pounding as you look around the room, searching for something, someone. The sound of heavy breathing and wheezing comes from the hallway. You walk slowly past the cream leather sofa towards the open door. It must be coming from the hallway. You hesitantly decide to apprach the hallway and you see her. Your mother has just arrived with several grocery bags.

    Re: Writing Prompts

It seems to be breathing. You stare at it. Yuck! Whatever is that? A mole? A weasel? You move back a few steps, then turn around to ask your mother, but when you see her, you start to scream, but no sound comes out of your mouth. Your mother looks something like a crustacean, with long teeth and antennae. You back away from her as she comes toward you, then turn around and run outside. But everyone on the street looks the same way. You start to scream when you feel something shaking you.

“You’ve been reading those drasted books again?!” you’re mom yells as you wake up. She has returned to normal and you realize you were dreaming. You are lying on a sofa in the den. Your mom bends and picks up the book you had been reading. “Return of the Wu Wus,” she says. “Reading this trash instead of studying. No wonder you have nightmares all the time.”

“It’s summer, Mom.” You say, sitting up.

“How will you get into medical school if you don’t study? Now go to Auntie Noor’s house. She has a dentist appointment and wants you to watch the kids.” Your mom throws the book on the sofa beside you, then leaves the room.

You get up angrily. Go to medical school! You think to yourself. You don’t want to go to medical school. You want to become a sci-fi/fantasy writer. Maybe become a software engineer while writing fiction as a hobby. But no matter how many times you tried explaining to your parents, they don’t seem to understand. Oh well, you think, there’s still two more years until you start college, so no need to worry about that now. So, grabbing the book, you leave to your uncle’s house.

“yeah, right she’s going to the dentist’s. More like she’ll be going to the movies,” you say as you approach their house. When you enter, you smile and in the most sugary voice, say “auntie noo noo, I’m here!”

“oh im so glad you could make it,” she says. You give her hug, then bend down to rub your cousins’ hair. “How are you guys,” you smile. Your seven-year-old cousin grins and you notice a glint in his eye while the two younger ones just stare up at you, the youngest chewing his thumb.

“I will only be gone a little over an hour.” Auntie noonoo says, as she rushes out of the door. “the kids shouldn’t be any trouble at all.”

You wait until the door closes then flop on the sofa, saying “if they couldn’t take care of their children, they shouldn’t have had them.”

“ah” your uncle says coming into the room, staring at you with a frown.

“Chachagee!” you cry out. “I didn’t know you were home.”

“I am going to drop your aunt at the dentist’s.” he says, but doesn’t seem happy about your remark.

You watch him go out the door, then after locking the door, sit down and take out the book. “You kids play while I read,” you smile at them. But you can’t concentrate. Your aunt and uncle’s irresponsibility amazes you. You are well aware of their movie addiction and you worry it might interfere with the children’s’ upbringing. Oh, well, not your problem. You open the book and start reading. Just then LouLou, the seven-year-old rather mischievous one, asks if he can play outside.

“not now,” you answer. “Play here. After lunch you can go out.” You return to your book but Dee Dee wants to go to the bathroom, so putting the book on the mantle you take Dee Dee to the bathroom. When you come back, Kakoo the youngest is all tired and wants to sleep. So you lay a mattress on the floor and put him there and wait until he falls asleep.

After some 15 minutes you finally settle on the sofa with your book while the two older kids are playing with blocks. Just as you start reading, you hear a swish as wind starts blowing through the open window, making the curtains fly. You can see that a storm is building up, so uou get up and close the windows. As you turn around, the doorbell rings.

Lou Lou turns to you and says, “uhoh the GooGoos are here.”

    Re: Writing Prompts

Thedarkness outside thickens, the ceiling stretches higher and higher and the shasows begin to seep like oil from the corners of the room. Dream like, your movements are slow and exagerrated, requiring so much concentration to act, to move at all. dread this intense has never visited you before and the perspiration is welling up in pools on your body. Then, in one explosive moment, the reality of the world is stripped away, the fabric is replaced with fire and a vision of what is awaiting the kafir. Demons have been granted access to your soul, they are clawing at you with blackened hands, burn marks traced out where they contact your skin. The noise is terrifying, only feirce beating of your heart can compete with thescreams of the souls condemned to eternal flame. You are picked up by the hair and thrown into an abyss of flames, the seering pain as your flesh errupts into boiling flames and then, you awake, startled, sweating, crying.....why do you have to suffer these nightmares. You leave the bed side and check the children then go to the bathroom, washed and ready to pray, you spend the rest of the night making dua and praying rakaats in order that Allah may spare you fromthe reality in your visions. Dawn comes and tears flow from you in acknowledgement of the beauty and power of all creation. Then you remember, the locker, the keyinside the locker, the promise from a long since dead muslim brother that the key is of utmost importance, you dress and rush off toward the train station...............

    Re: Writing Prompts

as you approach the train station, you remember someone quoting a hadith that women shouldn't travel alone. you are stuck. what should you do? you can't travel alone and you can't tell anyone about this trip as the locker was supposed to be a secret. just then you see an old friend with her family. you decide to go with them, so you rush over to them. in the train you sit with them, and after a while, doze off as you are very tired. after what seems like hours, your friend wakes you and tells you it's lunch time. you eat a few morsels but aren't hungry. so you just sit and stare out the window the rest of the way, wondering what could be in the locker.

when you get to your destination, you put your hand in your pocket to check on the key but its not there!

    Re: Writing Prompts

Fear overcomes you as you pat each pocket hoping there is some sign of the key. Several thoughts engulf you, did someone steal your key as you slept? did it fall out? when did you last have it? You re-trace your steps, anxiously searching the floors for some sign of it, when you are knocked down to the floor by someone rushing past. As you struggle to get up you hear a familiar voice. "looking for this?" It is your friend from the train station.
"It had fallen out of your pocket as you slept". The key had been in a pocket which had been zipped close, how could it have fallen out? Just as you were about to ask her, "sorry i'm late i need to go", your friend disapears into the crowd. You look questionably at the key but shrug it off and make your journey to the locker.

The locker looked the same, although the edges had turned rusty over time. You take a deep breath and turn the key in the locker..

Inside is a single peice of paper, the thin and flimsy type of paper found in the telephone book. On the paper a number, 27.41. You have no idea why but its meaning has faded from your mind and the only clue other than the number is the small symbol printed on the paper, a moon and a star.
Turning to leave, the memory floods back, 27 the Star, 41...."And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment". This is not only a promise from Allah, but a msg from the past of a debt yet to be repaid, You remember, the pain was excrutiating, so much so that it became blocked from your mind....until now.
Later that evening you board a plane heading for Geneva, you hope the old address is still occupied by them.

This story has more twists and turns than the california highway, you hear the man sitting next to you mutter. He closes the book he's reading and shoves it into a bag. then he rummages in the bag lookin for something. you try to ignore him, leaning back & closing your eyes. you try to relax and not think of your grandfather's debt that you have decided to repay. to right some wrong, maybe that your grandfather's being punished in the grave and this might alleviate his suffering. you've been seeing strange dreams of someone burning in hell and crying out in pain and wonder if it has anything to do with this debt.

as you drift to sleep, you feel being shaken violently.

The plane drops with a gut wretching ferocity, leaving u sick and disorientated. Passengers screamas the plane begins to plummit out of the darkening skies, u think of home, u think of life and you pray, others are praying to thier god, u ask Allah to save you and pass out as the plane begins to spin.
As you wake up the first thing u notice is the searing pain in ur right leg, it feels broken and on inspection u realise it is.The planes main body is in tact and as u look around u realise that others are still alive too.
Lying in agony , passing in and out of consciousness u pray for help. In one of ur more lucid moments u make out the figure of a man, its approaching dawn and u can just make out his features, Zeeshan !!!!!!!!!! U are confused, ur sure he wasnt on the plane, and why is he dressed in robes ?
