Subshanallah another great poem that I thought I would share with you!
IF THE PROPHET (Peace be upon him)* VISITED YOU,
JUST FOR A DAY OR TWO,
IF HE CAME UNEXPECTEDLY,
I WONDER WHAT YOU WOULD DO.
OH, I KNOW, YOU'D GIVE HIM YOUR NICEST ROOM,
TO SUCH AN HONOURED GUEST;
AND ALL THE FOOD YOU'D SERVE HIM,
WOULD BE THE VERY BEST.
AND, YOU WOULD KEEP ASSURING HIM,
YOU ARE GLAD TO HAVE HIM THERE,
THAT SERVING HIM IN YOUR HOME,
IS JOY BEYOND COMPARE.
BUT... WHEN YOU SAW HIM COMING,
WOULD YOU MEET HIM AT THE DOOR.
WITH ARMS OUTSTRETCHED IN WELCOME,
TO YOUR VISITOR?
OR...WOULD YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR CLOTHES,
BEFORE YOU LET HIM IN?
OR HIDE SOME MAGAZINES AND PUT,
THE QURAN WHERE THEY HAD BEEN?
WOULD YOU STILL WATCH FORBIDDEN MOVIES,
ON YOUR TV SET?
OR WOULD YOU RUSH TO SWITCH IT OFF,
BEFORE HE GETS UPSET?
WOULD YOU TURN OFF THE RADIO,
AND HOPE HE HADN'T HEARD?
AND HOPE HE HADN'T UTTERED,
THE LAST LOUD, HASTY WORD?
WOULD YOU HIDE YOUR WORDLY MUSIC,
AND INSTEAD TAKE HADITH BOOKS OUT?
COULD YOU LET HIM WALK RIGHT IN,
OR WOULD YOU RUSH ABOUT?
AND, I WONDER... IF THE PROPHET* SPENT,
A DAY OR TWO WITH YOU,
WOULD YOU GO RIGHT ON DOING THE THINGS,
YOU ALWAYS DO?
WOULD YOU GO RIGHT ON SAYING THE THINGS,
YOU ALWAYS SAY?
WOULD LIFE FOR YOU CONTINUE,
AS IT DOES FROM DAY TO DAY?
WOULD YOU KEEP UP EACH AND EVERY PRAYER,
WITHOUT PUTTING ON A FROWN?
AND WOULD YOU ALWAYS JUMP UP EARLY,
FOR PRAYERS AT DAWN?
WOULD YOU SING THE SONGS YOU ALWAYS SING,
AND READ THE BOOKS YOU READ?
AND LET HIM KNOW THE THINGS ON WHICH,
YOUR MIND AND SPIRIT FEED?
WOULD YOU TAKE THE PROPHET WITH YOU,
EVERYWHERE YOU PLAN TO GO?
OR WOULD YOU, MAYBE, CHANGE YOUR PLANS,
JUST FOR A DAY OR SO?
WOULD YOU BE GLAD TO HAVE HIM MEET,
YOUR VERY CLOSEST FRIENDS?
OR WOULD YOU HOPE THEY'D STAY AWAY,
UNTIL HIS VISIT ENDS?
WOULD YOU BE GLAD TO HAVE HIM STAY,
FOREVER ON AND ON?
OR WOULD SIGH WITH GREAT RELIEF,
WHEN HE AT LEAST WAS GONE?
IT MIGHT BE INTRESTING TO KNOW,
THE THINGS THAT YOU WOULD DO,
IF THE PROPHET MOHAMMAD*,
IN PERSON CAME,
TO SPEND SOME TIME WITH YOU.
* Sallallah Alaihi wa Salam
Mashallah thanks for the poem. It's always helpful to keep that in mind that way you'll think twice before doing something forbidden by Allah and his beloved Apostle.
Well, the creator of the prophet IS WATCHING . Will we still be doing the things that we're doing right now?
The prophet's gone. But Allah is on his 'Arsh watching us. Our angels writing down every deed we do.
according to the spirit of many ahadeeth, if the prophet would have visited us, he'd not go ballistic on us and still advise us nicely and not being judgmental, unlike many of us who take our fatwa guns and go on spraying the bid'ah and haram bullets.
Nicest room? The prophet doesn't need that. He slept on a palm leave mat, that his wife commented that the marks of this mat would be on his body.
I'm not going to even think about him coming back, realistically or metaphorically. Because the real thing is here. ALLAH.
Now, He's the being, Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Ever Watchful.
Takumi Nakashima WattaquLlah(a) wa yu'allimukumuLlah(u)
(Be Mindful of Allah and He will teach you)
If Prophet Muhammad visited you
Just for a day or two,
If he came unexpectedly,
I wonder what you'd do.
Oh, I know you'd give your nicest room,
To such an honored guest,
And all the food you'd serve him,
Would be the very best,
And you would keep assuring him,
You're glad to have him there,
That serving him in your home,
Is joy beyond compare.
But...when you saw him coming,
Would you meet him at the door,
With arms outstreched in welcome,
To your visitor?
Or...would you have to change your clothes
Before you let him in?
Or hide some magazines and put,
The Quran where they had been?
Would you still watch X-rated movies,
On your T.V. set?
Or would you switch it off.
Before he gets upset?
Would you turn off the radio,
And hope he hadn't heard?
And wish you hadn't uttered the last loud hasty word?
And, I wonder...if the Prophet spent,
A day or two with you,
Would you go right on doing the things,
You always do?
Would you go right on saying the things
You always say?
Would life for you continue,
As it does from day to day?
Would your family conversating,
Keep up its usual pace,
And Would you find it hard each meal,
To say a table grace?
Would you keep up each and every prayer?
Without putting on a frown?
And would you always jump up early,
For prayer at dawn?
Would you sing the songs you always sing,
And read the books you read?
And let him know the things on which,
Your mind and spirit feed?
Would you take Prophet with you,
Everywhere you plan to go?
Or, would you maybe change your plans,
Just for a day or so?
Would you be glad to have him meet,
Your very closest friends?
Or, would you hope they stay away,
Until his visit ends?
Would you be glad to have him stay,
Forever on and on?
Or would you sigh with great relief,
When he at last was gone?
It might be interesting to know,
The things that you would do.
If Prophet Muhammad, in person, came,
to spend some time with you.
If Prophet Mohammed (saw) visited you for a day or two wonder what you you do?
when you see him coming, would you meet him at the door with your arms outstretched in welcoming him in your daily dressing.
would you have to change your clothes before you let him in?
Or hide some magazines and put the Qur’an where it should've been?
Would you still watch those movies, or tv or would you switch it off.
Would you hide your worldly music, and instead take out Hadith books?
Could you let him walk right in, or would you rush about?
Would you take the Prophet everywhere you plan to go?
