I know that this question must grow tiresome for Muslims to continue answering but I am trying to understand the truth, but seeking and finding the correct answer seems to be more difficult than I imagined. I have been doing some research and it seems to be broken down into various parts I have come across. I just do not understand how to put those parts together. I have been seeing inconsistent Muslim viewpoints concerning the Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) marriage to Aisha.
This seems to be the majority of mindsets I have read.
-Her age seems to vary between the ages of 6 to 9.
-Her marriage was consummated between the ages of 9 and 12.
But I have also come across several sites and forums that paints a much different perspective.
-There is no Hadith that shows her actual age of marriage.
-Only false Hadiths depict her at a young age.
-Some theologists depict her age of marriage between 13 to 18 years old.
-Based on several documents of the Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) battles he is depicted to have not traveled with anyone in his personal entourage that was under 15 years of age. I am told because of this it rules out Aisha's young age.
So with this and with my limited knowledge of Islam (I'm learning as best as I can) I have I have several questions.
What is the truth behind Aisha's age?
Is there truly false Hadith's in existence?
If so, how does one know they are reading a true Hadith?
