I think there's a similar question posted sometime back.
Doubt will creep in in every thing you do if it does not go according to 'expectations'. In faith it is usually caused by frustration. Disillusionment (although I categorically limit this to non Muslims and I would call the leavers of islam 'misled') as disillusionment is caused by finding flaws in the fabric of faith. There is no flaw in the islam that was revealed to the final messenger. So technically speaking, one cannot be disillusioned by Islam, but misled.
How I do it (coming back to your question) is to ask myself why, what is the root cause for this? What events brought me to feeling this way.
Is it something I can do something about and have direct result in the outcome or is it something I have no control over?
As I learn, I find islam so beautiful but the people aren't. In what I can understand, I see how it all fits, universal almost. What does not fit is my limited understanding. As such, I put those moments of "low's" down as a test. More often than not I reread stories of the prophets. Time and time again it uplifts the spirit. They had thankless duties. They just had to do it and to do it with patience, regardless of results.
Emaan is like a battery, when it's low we recharge it . Here are some tips we use if Emaan is slipping.
- Make sure you pray on time. All 5x Salah.
- Make dua to Allah to increase your emaan and keep you on the straight path.
- Talk to some Aalims & stay in company of the righteous.
- Do any good deeds, eg. Fasting for sake of Allah, giving charity etc.
- Ponder about Jannah, the everlasting paradise and the beauty it contains within it.
- Think about the universe, the creation of Allah, the earth and nature. Look at the clouds, mountains, trees etc. Think about the greatness of Allah.
- Randomly open the Qur'an, read a verse. Read a surah, listen to it and reflect on it. Read the tafsir.
[Quran Surah an Nisa 4:82] "Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah , they would have found within it much contradiction."
- Regret, reform and repent. Seek forgiveness of Allah for sins.
- Remember Allah by engaging in Dhikr. SubhanAllah, Alhamdulilah, Allahu akbar, La ilaha illAllah.
- Remember Death. Time goes fast, we are not going to be on this earth forever. Most of our time on this earth is in the grave!
- Gain some Islamic knowledge. Watch lectures, read books, study etc.

LOL, my apologies.
Even though i am not a muslim, i can still draw inspiration from the islamic faith. I think it is important that people from various faiths share knowledge and inspiration with each other.:thankyou::thankyou::thankyou:
