Today I Received a phone call at 9.30am from a mother . She said my daughter has found a suitable partner . We have met him and we are happy for our daughter . ( ie we have done our research and we are happy )
We need some advice on how to proceed.
I mentioned A few saying of the prophet and explained how simple the Prophets daughters nikaah was etc . I also advised that if everyone is happy I think they should arrange to get the nikaah done as soon as possible.
Once Nikaah is done they will be married and if they decide to do any parties etc that can be done any time. In this way at least everything is in a manner which is pleasing to Allah Swt . Other logistics can be sorted out later etc . ( I was highlighting the islamic requirements etc)
Jokingly I said I think the nikaah can be done in the next few hours if the family agreed .
They rang a few minutes later and said our families agree to get the nikaah done today .
We fixed a time of 2.30pm and at that time I arrived.
The father and the brother were witnesses .
They had a few family members and Friends etc
I gave a short reminder and the nikaah was performed .
By 3pm I was out of the house and left them to enjoy their happy occasion.
( many people would class them as not very practicing modern family etc but it was amazing to realise that if we present the words of the prophet pbuh it can have a magical effect on hearts)
May Allah bless the new couple and bless the the families ameen
