    =D Ramadhan Reminders # (OP)

    Bismillah-Ir-Rahman-Ir-Raheem,

    AsalamuAlaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) addressed his companions on the last day of Sha`ban, saying, "Oh peole! A great month has come over you, a blessed month; a month in which is a night better than a thousand months; month in which Allah has made it compulsory upon you to fast by day, and voluntary to pray by night. Whoever draws nearer (to Allah) by performing any of the (optional) good deeds in (this month) shall receive the same reward as performing an obligatory deed at any other time, and whoever discharges an obligatory deed in (this month) shall receive the reward of performing seventy obligations at any other time. It is the month of patience, and the reward of patience is Heaven. It is the month of charity, and a month in which a believer's sustenance is increased. Whoever gives food to a fasting person to break his fast, shall have his sins forgiven, and he will be saved from the Fire of Hell, and he shall have the same reward as the fasting person, without his reward being diminished at all." -Narrated by Ibn Khuzaymah

In another hadith, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) says, "Ramadan has come to you. (It is) a month of blessing, in which Allah covers you with blessing, for He sends down Mercy, decreases sins and answers prayers. In it, Allah looks at your competition (in good deeds), and boasts about you to His angels. So show Allah goodness from yourselves, for the unfortunate one is he who is deprived in (this month) of the mercy of Allah, the Mighty, the Exalted." -Narrated by Tabarani

    And when opening your fast:

Hadhrat Ibn Abbas (radiAllahuAnhu) relates that the prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhi Wassalam) said: 'blessing comes down upon food in it's middle, so eat from the sides of the vessel and do not eat from its centre' -Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi.

    Adding more later, inshaAllah.

Allahu A'lam sis...I really dont know, maybe it'd be best for somebody else to answer, but we do know without a doubt that Ramadaan is a blessed month, more blessed than any other for the devils are chained, the Qur'aan was revealed and the night of Laylatul Qadr falls in this month. Satisfy your hunger!

    Iftar 3 - =D Ramadhan Reminders #

Narrated Nafi': Ibn 'Umar said, "Allaah Messenger (Salallahi Alayhi Wassalam) said, 'If the supper is served for anyone of you and the Iqama is pronounced, start with the supper and don't be in haste (and carry on eating) till you finish it.'" If food (supper) was served for Ibn 'Umar and Iqama was pronounced, he never came to the prayer till he finished it (i.e., the food) in spite of the fact that he heard the recitation (of the Qur'aan) by the Imaam (in prayer).[1]
At-Tirmidhi reports from the hadeeth of Abu Hurayra from the Allaah's messenger (RadiAllahu Anhu), who said that Allaah said, "The most belived to Me of my slaves is the one who hastens most in breaking the fast." [2]

    JazakAllah khayr sis, great thread:

Allahumma inna nasaluka ridhaka wal Jannah - Oh Allah, we ask for your pleasure and paradise. Ameen!

    WassalamuAlaykum
I say something along the lines of that during the last rakah in sujood

''allahumma inni asaluka jannatul firdaws'': Oh Allaah grant me Jannatul Firdaws

And, ''allahumma najinni min an-nar'': Oh Allaah protect me from the fire.

InshaaAllaah, always remember that our end goal is to have a better relationship with Allaah Ta'ala and to be granted not just jannah, but Jannatul Firdaws. It's really sad and disheartening when I hear things from people like, ''oh I'll just be happy reaching even the first level of Jannah''. SubhanAllaah, always aim high! Allaah has given us so many avenues to attain Jannatul Firdaws and for us to just throw it away is more than ridiculous.

Anyway, here are ten phrases that easily lead to Jannah. I always say these things after my salah or throughout the day.

1 - “Whoever says: ‘Glorified is Allah, the Most Great, and praised is He’ [Subhan Allah al-'Adhim wa bi-Hamdih] will have a date palm planted for him in Paradise.”

    ['Sahih al-Jami''; # 5531]

2 - “Whoever is stricken with sadness, grief, sickness or hardship and says: ‘Allah is my Lord, without any partners’ [Allahu Rabbi, la sharika lah], then it will be removed from him.”

    ['Sahih al-Jami''; # 6040]

3 - “Whoever ate something, then said: ‘Praise be to Allah who has fed me this food and provided it for me, without any strength or power on my part’ [al-Hamdu lillah aladhi at'amani hadha wa Razaqnih bi ghayr hawlin minni wa la quwwa] is forgiven his past and future sins. And whoever wears a garment and says: ‘Praise be to Allah who has clothed me with this garment and provided it for me without any strength or power on my part’ [al-Hamdu lillah aladhi kasani hadha at-thawb wa Razaqnih bi ghayr hawlin minni wa la quwwa] is forgiven his past and future sins.”

    ['Sahih al-Jami''; # 6086]

4 - “Whoever enters the marketplace and says: ‘There is none worthy of worship except Allah who has no partners, for Him is the Dominion, and for Him is all Praise, He brings life and He causes death, and He is Alive and does not die, in His Hand is all good, and He is able to do all things,’ [La ilaha ill-Allah, Wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-Mulk, wa lahul-Hamd, yuhyiyy wa yumit, wa Huwa Hayyun la yamut, bi Yadihil-Khayr wa Huwa 'ala kulli shay'in Qadir] then Allah will write one million good deeds for him, and will wipe away one million of his bad deeds, and will raise him one million levels and will build a home for him in Paradise.”

    ['Sahih al-Jami''; # 6231]

5 - “Whoever controls his anger when he is able to act upon it, then Allah will call him to come in front of all of the Creation so that he would let him choose from the Hur al-’Ayn and marry from them whomever he pleases.”

    ['Sahih al-Jami''; # 6518]

the above ahadeeth were reported by as-Suyuti, an-Nisaee, Abu Dawud, Ahmad in his Musnad, al-Bazzar, etc. they were all authenticated by Shayhk al-Albanee in his book 'Sahih al-Jami as-Asaghir'

6 - “Whoever asks Allah for Paradise three times [Allahumma inni as'aluk al-Jannah], then Paradise will say: “O Allah! Enter him into Paradise!” And whoever seeks protection with Allah from the Fire three times [Allahumma najjini min an-Nar], the Fire will say: “O Allah! Protect him from the Fire!“”

    [at-Tirmidhi, and it is authentic]

7 - “Whoever seeks forgiveness for the believing men and the believing women, Allah writes for him - for every believing man and woman - a good deed.”

[at-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, and Ahmad in his Musnad, and it is authentic]

8 - ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud said: “Whoever reads ‘al-Mulk’ (chapter 67 of the Qur’an) every night, Allah will protect him from the torment of the grave. At the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), we used to call it al-mani’ah (that which protects). In the Book of Allah, it is a chapter which - whoever recites it every night - has done very well.”

    ['Sahih at-Targhib wat-Tarhib'; # 1475]

9 - “Whoever asks Allah sincerely for martyrdom [Allahumma inni as'aluk ash-shahadah], Allah will cause him to reach the status of the martyrs even if he dies in his bed.”

    ['Sahih al-Bukhari'; # 1909]

10 - “No one witnesses that there is none worthy of worship but Allah and that I am Allah’s Messenger - truthfully, from his heart - except that Allah makes the Fire of Hell forbidden to touch him.”

[Sahih Muslim, Musnad Ahmad, and al-Bayhaqi]

    Re: =D Ramadhan Reminders #

Some people say that if you see a Muslim drinking or eating out of forgetfulness during the day in Ramadaan, you do not have to tell him, because Allaah has fed him and given him to drink as it says in the hadeeth. Is this correct?

    Praise be to Allaah.

Whoever sees a Muslim drinking or eating during the day in Ramadaan, or doing anything else that breaks the fast, has to tell him off, because doing that openly during the day in Ramadaan is wrong. Even if a person has an excuse for doing that, (he should not do it), lest people dare to do openly things that Allaah has forbidden, i.e., openly doing things that break the fast during the day in Ramadaan, claiming that they have forgotten that they are fasting. If the one who does that openly is sincere in his claim to have forgotten, then he does not have to make up the fast, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever forgets that he is fasting and eats or drinks, let him complete his fast, for the One Who fed him and gave him to drink was Allaah.” (Saheeh, agreed upon). Similarly, the traveler should not eat or drink openly among residents who do not know that he is a traveler, rather he should do that in secret so that they will not accuse him of doing something that Allaah has forbidden and so that he will not encourage anyone else to dare to do that. And similarly, the kuffaar should be prevented from openly eating or drinking etc. among the Muslims, so as to prevent anyone taking this matter lightly and because they are not allowed to practise their false religion openly among the Muslims. And Allaah is the Source of strength.

He is asking about dying in the month of Ramadaan

Is it true that all those who die in Ramadan, go to Jannah without being questioned for their deeds?.

    Praise be to Allaah.

Allaah has blessed some of the elite among His slaves with the promise that they will enter Paradise without being brought to account and without being punished. It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The nations were shown to me and I saw a Prophet with a small band of followers, and a Prophet with one or two men with him, and a Prophet who had no one with him. Then I was shown a huge multitude and I thought they were my ummah, but it was said to me: This is Moosa (peace be upon him) and his people. But look at the horizon. So I looked and saw a huge multitude, and it was said to me: Look at the other horizon, and there was (another) huge multitude. And it was said to me: This is your ummah and with them are seventy thousand who will enter Paradise without being brought to account or punished.” Then he got up and went into his house, and the people disputed about those who enter Paradise without being brought to account or being punished. Some of them said: Perhaps they are the ones who accompanied the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Some of them said: Perhaps they are the ones who were born in Islam and did not associate anything with Allaah. And they mentioned other things. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came out to them and said: “What are you disputing about?” They told him, and he said: “They are the ones who did not seek ruqyah or believe in bird omens, and they put their trust in their Lord.” ‘Ukaashah ibn Mihsan stood up and said: Pray to Allaah to make me one of them. He said: “You will be one of them.” Another man stood up and said: Pray to Allaah to make me one of them. He said: “ ‘Ukaashah has beaten you to it.”
    Al-Bukhaari, 5705; Muslim, 220

He did not say that among these seventy thousand would be those who died during the month of Ramadaan. Rather those who are mentioned are the elite of the believers who achieved true belief in the oneness of the Lord of the Worlds (Tawheed). It says in Fath al-Majeed: The phrase “and put their trust in their Lord” points to the basic principles from which these actions and attributes stemmed, which is putting one's trust in Allaah (tawakkul) and sincerely turning to Him and depending on Him. This is the ultimate Tawheed which raises a person to a high status of love, hope, fear and being content with Allaah as one's Lord and God, and being content with His decree. (p. 74)

Concerning the virtue of one who dies whilst fasting, it was narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever says Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah (there is no god but Allaah), seeking the Face of Allaah and that was his final action, will enter Paradise. Whoever fasts one day seeking the Face of Allaah and that was his final action, will enter Paradise. Whoever gives charity seeking the Face of Allaah and that was his final action will enter Paradise.” Narrated by Imam Ahmad, 22813, from the hadeeth of Hudhayfah (may Allaah be pleased with him). Al-Albaani said in Ahkaam al-Janaa’iz: its isnaad is saheeh.

It should be noted that the previous hadeeth points to the high status of those seventy thousand (may Allaah make us among them) with regard to doing righteous deeds, which is what brought them to that status before Allaah. Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhaab (may Allaah have mercy on him) said, after quoting this hadeeth in Kitaab al-Tawheed: “This is indicative of the depth of the knowledge of the salaf, because they knew that they could not attain that status except by doing righteous deeds.” It should be obvious to the questioner that if there were anything special about dying in Ramadaan, this would apply only to the believers and not all those who die in Ramadaan.

Similarly, with regard to the hadeeth quoted above concerning the virtue of one who dies whilst fasting, which says that he will enter Paradise, this promise is for one who does righteous deeds and that was his final deed, not simply for dying in Ramadaan. Moreover, it does not mention that specific virtue of entering Paradise without being brought to account. And Allaah is the Source of strength.

I've changed it sister ^ jazakiAllahu khair =) *wub*

When should the passengers on an airplane break their fast?

    Praise be to Allaah.

The scholars are of the view that the fast lasts from dawn until sunset, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“and eat and drink until the white thread (light) of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread (darkness of night), then complete your Sawm (fast) till the nightfall” (al-Baqarah 2:187)

And it is proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When night comes from here and departs from here, and the sun sets, then the fasting person breaks his fast.”

Every fasting person is subject to the ruling of the place where he is, whether he is on the ground or in a plane in the air.

Based on that, if a person breaks his fast whilst on board a plane according to the timetable of some city although he knows that the sun has not set, then his fast is invalid, because he has broken his fast before the sun has set for him, and he has to make up that day.

    Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah li’l-Buhooth al-‘Ilmiyyah wa’l-Ifta (10/397, 398).

    Ahh dun be,

He sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam said, "If what you said about him is true then you would have backbitten him, and if it is not true, then you would have slandered him (buhtaan)" (Muslim).

Look at the severity of the situation and the result of someone who runs after their Muslim brothers and sisters trying to expose their faults. RasulAllah said:

"O you who have believed with (only) your tongues, yet faith has not yet entered your hearts! Do not backbite the Muslims. And do not search out their faults. For verily he who follows the private matters of his Muslim brother, Allah shall follow his private matters. And whoever has his private matters followed by Allah, Allah shall expose them even if they were (hiding) in the belly of their home" (Ahmad and Abu Dawood)

O you who believe! Avoid suspicion as much as possible for suspicion in some cases is a sin. And spy not on each other, nor speak ill of each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, you would abhor it...But fear Allah, for Allah is Oft- Returning, Most Merciful (Al-Hujurat 49/12).

    AsalamuAlaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

#1 The most Romantic Ramadhan ever!

“Permitted to you, on the night of the fasts, is the approach to your wives. They are your garments and ye are their garments.” (Surah al-Baqarah, vs. 187)

    -Talk to eachother

    -Help eachother out

    -Maintain the ties of kinship

#2 Aisha (RadiaAllahu Anha) asked the Prophet (sallallahu Alayhi Wassalam) “What should I say on Laylat-al-qadr?” He replied,
    qadr2 1 - =D Ramadhan Reminders #

Say, “O Allah, You are Al-’Afuww and You love to ‘afw, so fa’fu me” (Tirmidhi).

What do all these italicized words mean? The common translation of the supplication above is,

O Allah indeed you are a Pardoner, and you love pardon, so pardon me.

    Re: =D Ramadhan Reminders #

From Anas, radiyallahu ‘anhu, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah , sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, say: “Allah the Almighty has said: ‘O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me, and hope in Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds in the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with an earthful of sins and were you then to face Me, without having associated anything with Me, I shall grant you an earthful of pardon.’”

[Recorded by Al-Tirmidhi, who said that it is a good and sound hadith].

    Three simple rules in life:

    1) If you do not go after what you want, you will never have it
    2) If you don't ask, the answer will always be no.
    3) If you do not step forward, you'll always be in the same place
