    Suhoor and beginning the fast

Here is another thing I have never quite understood about Ramadan.
People (non-Muslims) commonly understand that Muslims fast during Ramadan from sunrise to sunset ... but it occurs to me that that isn't actually correct. Muslim fast for longer than that.

Am I right in understanding that people eat Suhoor BEFORE praying Fajr?
And Fajr is prayed long before sunrise; before the first dawn light appears - almost 2 hours before sunrise in some places (at least here in the UK).

    Is that correct?
Or can Muslims still eat BETWEEN praying Fajr and the actual rising of the sun?

Re: Suhoor and beginning the fast

Yes, the fast starts from the start of the dawn, not after sunrise. We cannot eat after the start of Azan of Fajr and Fajr time starts at dawn.
