Oh yes, I use Ubuntu. Sabily, actually, which is built on top of Ubuntu. Sabily has built-in Athan and dua plus a nifty mouse pointer with dzikr. All free and legal. Also virus-proof. So far Linux had only been breached by two virus attacks and one of it is a planned security test. If you know now to use Windows, you know how to use Ubuntu.
^ Good. I know about Sabily. I am using Ubuntu since it's Intrepid release...so it's been a long time now, I am using 10.10 now and I use Othman Quran browser on my box.
Internet Explorer because it was on my computer in the first place.... my knowledge in computers is very limited...
IE is the worst of all web browsers, it's slow and it's among the favorites for virus/wares/hackers attacks.
You might want to do yourself a favor and download mozilla firefox: http://download.cnet.com/mozilla-firefox/

I second that. Make it I third that, too. I used IE, too, long ago, until I was totally fed-up with the virus attacks. Then I switched to Firefox. I have also used Opera and Chrome. They are faster but they don't have all my favorite add-ons, so I am sticking to Firefox.
Google Chrome is not running fine on my Ubuntu 10.10, it has some serious issues with Ubuntu lately. So, it's time to say goodbye to Chrome, I am back on my Firefox 3.6.15.
Edit:
Wow! pages are rendered perfectly here and WYSIWYG edit works in Firefox only and not on Chrome...Firefox is the best browser!

Are you running Chrome under Crossover or are you using the new Linux Chrome?
^ I was using google chrome. the 32 bit .deb one...It had some serious issues....my computer would freeze...and gnome-panels being unexpectedly terminated...etcetera
Using firefox 4. I must really appreciate the effort the folks at mozilla put in, the browser is awesome...everyone using firefox should update their software.
^ Oh you'll love Ubuntu as well. I am using Ubuntu since Nov-Dec 2008 and no regrets--well why would I have regrets using Ubuntu when I don't have to worry about viruses and antiviruses and I need not spend money on buying licenses for the software...
Don't just download it. Use it I should say that a normal user can easily with some self education or with the help of some books available on internet can administer a desktop Linux.

So would I have to remove windows 7 (which I an currently using) and then download Ubuntu? I'm still having two minds about using it because other users may not want to adjust using something 'different'.

No, no, you can use Windows and Ubuntu concurrently-well not literally. You can have both OSes on your computer. I use Ubuntu 10.10 and Windows Media Center Edition on my computer. You can use the Live CD/USB option before you makeup your mind.
