Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu ‘anhu, reported that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, said:
A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He neither oppresses him nor humiliates him nor looks down upon him. Piety is here – and he pointed to his chest three times [Muslim]
As Allah [aza wajal] says in the Quran, the best amongst us, are those with the most taqwa. It matters not if people are not aware of our piety, as long as Allah [aza wajal] is. Piety is not the car you drive or the shoes you wear but piety is awareness of Allah. Some may look down on you while others think too highly of you but people’s opinion of your emaan is not what is important. What is important is what Allah [aza wajal] thinks of you and you do not have to let the world know, because piety is in the heart.
