can someone pls help me find: Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine
PDF or any other style online free. I'd prefer the 18th edition but don't mine earlier editions so long as it isn't that far back (since treatments evolve and change over time)
Last time I attempted to download from the net I ended up on some porno site, and I paid a fee as well so I was pretty annoyed and had to file a fraud report against the company, but they go by different names as to escape legal problems, at least that is what I understood from my bank when they refunded my money.. as such (I am not as net or computer savvy) as many here and would prefer to delegate the task to someone knowledgeable ...

This is the website that I use to download free medical books. I have downloaded hundreds of books from it including Harrisson's - 16th & 17th editions.
You can also download other books. It's not just for medical students.
You should have just downloaded them slowly using the free service ukti.
anyway install the programme bro dagless said and use that programme to unzip the files. it will tell you that you need to have all the parts before you can unzip them.

Jazaki Allah khyran sis.. very helpful indeed..will have a good round this evening with this
I have downloaded it, how do I get those files to open in it?
Did you install it?
It should automatically associate itself with .rar files. Just double click the first file in the series you downloaded. The one you said had a winzip icon, although now it should be a winrar icon.

it tries with the first one given that it is a zip file then it stops in the middle and demands that I insert a disc for part two.. well all the other parts are basically a dot html and they won't automatically open.. I wonder if I should delete them all and start from scratch.. seems a shame I spent money upgrading yesterday when nothing came of it.. still $10 is better than $1400 which is the original price..

You can do one of 2 things.
1) When it says it needs the next part and a browse box comes up, you can browse for the next file manually (in this case it would be the html file), and continue like that.
2) You can rename all the .html to .01, .02, etc. in order.

as dagless said you can browse to the next part or you can right click on each file and then choose "rename" and simply remove the .html bit.
