Giant sink hole in Guatemala
A giant 200 feet sink hole was caused by the recent rain in Guatemala. A sinkhole is a natural depression caused by the removal of underground soil by water. Usually, it happens when the substrate is formed by limestone, carbonate rock, salt beds or any other rock that is easily eroded by water streams. The process could be slow, but sometimes the land just cracks open without notice. In this case, it happened suddenly, swallowing an entire house. The cause: Massive underground water torrents created by tropical storm Agatha.
Sinkholes' size ranges from low terrain depressions to hundred of meters. A similar sinkhole killed two teens in 2007. Some neighbors claim that a whole three-story building and a house fell into the hole. The sinkhole swallowed a clothing factory. No deaths or injuries have been registered.

The appearance of these sink holes has increased in the past few years. Maybe it is a reminder to the Muslims of the signs of the last hour and maybe it is a shock absorber for the kuffar for when this sign appears.
In the Qur'aan it states (interpretation of the meaning): "So We caused the earth to swallow him and his dwelling place…" [al-Qasas 28:81].
Among the major signs of the Hour will be three such events, as described in the hadeeth of Hudhayfah ibn Usayd (may Allaah be pleased with him), according to which the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "The Hour will not begin until you see ten signs… (including) three events where the earth swallows up, one in the East, one in the West, and one in the Arabian Peninsula." (Reported by Muslim, 18/27).
