...When I love him(my faithful servant) I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant him it. I do not hesitate about anything as much as I hesitate about [seizing] the soul of My faithful servant: he hates death and I hate hurting him" (Al-Bukhari).
When you feel you cannot take it any more, complain to Him and Him alone, then wait patiently until he answers your supplication. Seek solace with the supplication of Yaqub (AS) over his son, Yusuf (AS), “Indeed I complain of my grief and sorrow only to Allah…” (Quran 12:86)
Abu Darda said: "Three make me laugh. Those that make me laugh are a person who puts his hopes in this worldly life while death pursues him, a person who is heedless of Allah while Allah is not heedless of him, and a person who always laughs while he does not know whether he has pleased Allah or angered Him." (Collected by Ibn Al Mubarak)
"Shaytan rejoiced when Adam (peace be upon him) came out of Paradise, but he did not know that when a diver sinks into the sea, he collects pearls and then rises again."
Al-Ghazali said, "If you see Allah, Mighty and Magnificent, holding back this world from you, frequently trying you with adversity and tribulation, know that you hold a great status with Him. Know that He is dealing with you as He does with His Awliya' and chosen elite, and is watching over you, have you not heard His saying, "So wait steadfastly for the judgment of your Lord - you are certainly before Our eyes.[At-Tur 52:48]
If we had perfect power like God to determine our destinies, & perfect vision like God to see the future & know what is best for us, we would choose exactly the fate that God chose for us.
Umar Ibn Khattab (may Allah swt be pleased with him) said:
"I am not worried about whether my du'a will be responded to, but rather I am worrried about whether I will be able to make du'a or not. So if I have been guided by Allah to make du'a, then (I know) that the response will come with it"
"If Allaah SWT opens up a door for you no one can close it, if Allaah decides that he wants you to have something you’ll have it... When all the doors and avenues are closed for you and no one can help you, you know who to turn to because you want someone to open that door for you and someone who can help you and that someone is Al-Fattah (The Opener). He is waiting for you to come to him and to ask him, he will open up the door at the right time..."
One of the Salaaf said: "Beware of the life of this world because its magic is more effective than that of Harut and Marut. The two latter's separate a man from his wife whereas the life of this world separates a man from his Rabb."
Ibn Masud said: "Falling asleep when remembering Allah is from Shaytan, if you want you can test this: when you lie down and want to fall asleep, try remembering Allah." (Bukhari)
Can someone please explain this to me?
Do not think of minor sins as insignificant,
for mountains are made out of pebbles...
"The Dunya is worthless to its Lord, and yet it belongs to Him. So it's not right that you value it so much, and it's not even yours!" (Yahya b. Mu'adh, Hilyat'l-Awliya', 14549)
