I was reading today about Iraqi Marshes and didn't even know they existed.. I didn't know much about Socotra or even Afghanistan or Syria .. we're often used to seeing the images projected by the media.. obviously hooligan Muslims in primitive like societies .. so I was thinking everyone would post pictures of their home country, their ancestral country of the things that wouldn't be readily known to people.. i.e if you are from Egypt post something other than the pyramids to showcase its beauty and architectural facets and areas of interest for those who have never seen it.. Also if you've just visited a place, say you're from the U.A.E and visited Oman then I'd appreciate that as well.. Jazakoum Allah khyran..
here are some of the Iraqi Marsh lands I saw today:
here, since i still hate this image uploading option on IB, i am posting links to direct pics. If mod wishes, they can post those pics here for display.
all of these pics are from pakistan. I think Atif Saeed is arguably the best landscape Pakistani photographer I've come across. I and Tilmeez are soon going on an adventurous trip to these places, iA, as he promised.
and this is my personal favorite, seems right out of Lord of the Rings, nay even better than that, a pathan with his steed witnessing the meadows and the tall peaks http://www.flickr.com/photos/atifsae...in/photostream
top notch pics, JazakhAllah khair
next time I go pakistan its gonna be a road trip straight to the north, no more wasting away in polluted cities

If we play Paint Balls Guns, our families would be happy too, especially if we win the game.
But look, what would happen to our families if we play with the real guns.
Pakistan is such a diversely beautiful country but so unfortunately stained with human suffering and oppression. I made a recent visit to Karachi (currently one of the most volatile cities in Pakistan) but still managed to capture afew peaceful shots.
....If thou knowest not thy God, thou art a slave of men;
And if thou dost, thy slaves are kings and potentates.
The heart’s freedom is kingly; its slavery is death,
It is for thee to decide — to be a king or a slave.
